Computers › Re: System Restarts Repeatedly by TmeD0(m): 4:29pm On May 09, 2008 |
Having read all the responses, I will have to agree with neotony and dual core. Formatting should always be the last resort! Do as neotony suggested but I'd do it in safe mode. By the way, while you're in safe mode run a virus scan on your PC to make sure there are no culprits lurking in the dark. In addition, you can use this free utility to gather information of your system's configurations including device drivers installed on your PC. If you're still having the same problem, shut down your PC, remove your hard drive and make it a slave drive on another PC. Then back up all your data from there. At that point, formatting should be considered. Good luck to you. Peace! |
Computers › Windows XP SP3 Crashes Some Pcs by TmeD0(op): 3:59pm On May 09, 2008 |
If anyone is planning on installing Service Pack 3 on Windows XP, you might want to read this article if you have an HP (Hewlett Packard) with an AMD processor or just a PC with an AMD processor before you upgrade. Ok, for those of us that do not like reading lenghty articles, I'll summarize it without being technical. What seem to be causing the problem is the fact that HP deploy the same Operating System (OS) image that an intel-based computer has to an AMD-based computer. These two processors use different system configution drivers but until the release of SP3, the AMD-based computers with the intel-based computers' .sys drivers work fine. However, after the service pack installation's first reboot, the system goes into an endless reboot loop. And if for some reason you've already upgraded and are having the problem encountered by most people that have already upgraded, check out Jesper's blog for some possible fixes. Thank God I haven't installed it on my desktop that's an AMD-based PC (though I built it) because I would have been scratching my head over the weekend because I was going to retro Vista back to XP. What's even worse is that you won't be able to access system restore even if you create a restore point before installing SP3, now that would really suck! |

Christianity Etc › Could Oprah Winfrey Be The Sign Of The Coming Of The Anti-Christ? by TmeD0(op): 1:56am On Apr 20, 2008 |
Oprah Winfrey, as we all know is one of the most influential women in the world, with a net worth of over $2 billion. Her new adoption of the "self-help" program The Secret, which purports that people can change their lives through possible thoughts that will then cause vibrations that results in good things happening to them has not only been very controversial but somewhat ludicrous to me. Personally, I've never really liked her for no apparent reason, she just comes across to me as a fake, arrogant, and maybe obnoxious person. Besides, I've always thought her show was boring and over-rated but I guess watching this video and this one finally revealed to me why I didn't like her for no apparent reason. Please watch the videos carefully and form your own opinion. It just crossed my mind that could she be the sign of the coming of the Anti-Christ as stated in the Bible? Your thoughts--- Peace! |

Is this the song you are talking about, oga poster? Haba! make you renle now. Personally, I think the song is meaningless, awful, and Tuface is highly over-rated. Make una neva jump me o all una die-hard Tuface fans. He's good but I think Faze is better lyrically and conceptually. All you have to do is sit down and listen to Tuface and Faze's music and objectively compare the two. IMO, Faze beat Tuface hands down, and his videos are way better than Tuface's, which in most cases lack concept. Just my opinion. Chikena! Peace! |

gregg2: In Nigeria it's very common among the Yorubas . . . or maybe we should say Lagos. It's very rare among the Hausas and occasionally among the Ibos
Lagos market women, bus conductors, agberos use it as greetings. sad. "Nna" gregg, don't you think that was a rather prejudicial statement. Verbal abuse is not really an ethnic issue since that's what you're implying here but rather an individual upbringing and their economy situation imo. Anyone can be abusive regardless of what ethnic group they belong to. Nna, try to be at least objective a little here now. Peace! |

londoner: Ok I see your piont. However, I am not versed in Nigerian law. Are there no laws against verbal and physical abuse/assault in Nigeria?
There are numerous records of policemen beating and killing people in UK and US, they are rarely prosecuted for it, they usually go through the motions to look like they are doing something about it. I do get your point though. Ara londoner, are you kidding me? Laws against verbal and physical abuse for Naija? Dem never implement the one wey dey for armed robbery and other violent crimes, na law against verbal abuse dem go come enact? I must take it that you've never stepped on Naija soil for one day o. No o, in as much as I don't condone it, they'll laugh in your face if you suggest that in Naija. They'll tell you "abuse ko, abuse ni" and hiss in your face too. |

concrete: acutally, the two ladies in the last two pictures you posted are cute imo. they just have on too much makeup and were photographed at weird angles
i agree that constance isn't good looking though
in case you didn't notice, i noted that "MOST" were cute. i just think it's harsh that there are some people saying that NONE of them are pretty or that most AREN'T pretty when in fact, most actually this time around Imo, they're not. We're both entitled to our opinions anyway. And as for not noticing the word "MOST" you used, I think the reverse is the case because if you "NOTICED" that was one of the words in bold on my previous comment. I had it in bold because I disagreed with the notion that most of them are cute. So concrete, yes I was paying attention since that's what you were implying. Have a great and safe weekend! Peace! |
