CharitoJames:Thank you very much, that's exactly what I mean, a copy sent to the embassy. Actually, I heard one doctor talking about how someone can get a copy, but I didn't wait to listen to them. Today makes it the 8th day for me as well. But no text or update. |

Please guys, how many days does it take IOM Ikeja to send medical info to IRCC, and how can someone request for his medical records from IOM. Email or call or other available means. |

stanmorry: Pictures alone cannot suffice...they only serve as additions to your marriage certificate. If you said you're married, you're expected to provide a verifiable certificate, and date of marriage. Infact, in the new portal, there's a dedicated document space for marriage certificate alone. What you can do is to select NO, but in your SOP, state that you have had your traditional marriage and add pictures to your application. You can also mention that your official marriage date is coming up soon. OR, do it asap and kuku add it. But don't choose yes when you don't have marriage certificate yet. 1 Like |

Babynyms:Yes, you can.... In as much as you did some prerequisite courses in your PGD (ẹ.g Psychology of Education, Teaching Methods, Curriculum instruction, History of Education etc) Most universities require some of these prerequisite courses either during B.Ed or PGD |

Anon123:Thank you for the response. Yes, I'm aware of that. I'm actually asking about the previous jobs I've had. In the new portal, there's a section that asked to list all jobs in the last 10 years. I'm now asking that the job I had between 2016 - 2018, can a reference letter only suffice as evidence? There was no official letter issued or payslip. |

Please guys, I need some input on this from anyone who might have experienced same thing I worked for my uncle's private company between 2016 - 2018 and there was no official letter issued. Will a reference letter from the company suffice to proof that I worked with them? Just the reference letter No payslip or job offer letter and it's been over 4 years I left there. @oppemipo In addition to that, your POF is not yet complete o For you as the main applicant, let's accept the funding covers you for 2 years. For your wife and kid, you need $4000 and $3000 respectively for a year. That means, you need $14,000 for both of them in 2 years. And you have $11,000. You're still short of $3,000. Mind you, you're not expected to have exactly the amount needed, there are some amount of money you should also have for miscellaneous (e.g transportation ticket, emergency spending etc). That may amount to around $3000 CAD each for everyone. Personally, I'll advise you to leave your wife and kid, and when you get to Canada after 3 months or so, then apply for them to join you. That will also strengthen your home tie. But if you know you have the money and strong home ties, you can go ahead and apply together . But don't forget, you have $38k CAD funding, don't let it go to waste. |

oppemipo:Before you think of points to convince the visa officer why you're going with your family, what are your home ties? It could be the tiebreaker in the officer's decision! |

Barzoid:Even without scholarship, don't go to an examination hall aiming lesser than the highest attainable grade. So I won't expect anyone to tell you C or B... Aim for the highest if you really want a scholarship. Get like 8 A's and see if schools in developed countries won't offer you full scholarships. Nearly all top 5 students in WAEC from Nigeria go abroad every year. 1 Like |

TonyDeAnalyst:Hello, My advise might not really sound cool, but I'll say it. Doing a PhD without funding is Slavery... Yes, it's Slavery. Don't even think of it, especially in developed countries. PhD is purely research, and a lot of cost is embedded in it that's totally different from your tuition. How will someone spend so much, continuously for 4 years, and with wife and 3 kids. Sincerely, it's not advisable at all. Except you have twice of the total cost for four year + research and you don't really mind spending it No 2. For a married person with 3 kids to use a third party sponsor is almost a straight denial. Because I still don't know what explanation can be given that the VO will not think "applicant is not financially capable" My sincere advice - take your time to get a fully funded scholarship for your PhD. 5 Likes |

Derekxxy: First of all, no scholarship is easy, you have to merit it before you can be given. But scholarship and student loan can be used for means of proof of funds. Permanent residency is obtainable after a master's program even with scholarship. But be aware that some scholarships come with conditions that applicants must return to their country of origin after study. If that is the condition, PR and PGWP can't be given. |

Please, for those that got Mpower loan, how did you structure your SOP under POF? Do someone need to explain reasons for taking a loan and how it will be paid and the number of years? Or attaching the MPower approval loan letter is enough? kuze1, ifeks216, JosephYemsol, Amicableoga, lushk. Please I need your input as your visa applications were approved with Mpower. Johnbravo1994:Even all these brands you mentioned must not be blacklisted and it must be factory unlocked to be usable! The fact that an iPhone, Samsung etc work in Nigeria doesn't mean it'll work over there. You can always run a paid check to know the status of your phone and know if it'll be compatible with networks in Canada. 1 Like |

Trailblazer21:The last "unemployed" after school should be till present, since that's your current status. Don't select 2022/04 as the ending date. You'll see a box that ask if that's your present situation or something, the moment you tick that box, you won't need to select 2022/04 1 Like |

Trailblazer21:This thing is not hard, just relax and follow the instructions. Last 10 years is 2012 - 2022. If you were in school within that 10 year period and you've already stated that when filling the education period, you will not include it in the working period. Better still, list what you've been doing from 2012 - 2022 here, lemme explain how you'll fix them in. |

JayEjabz:No implication. It's just that thesis based always get more opportunities compare to course based. Before a Course based student would receive funding, it would have gone round among thesis based first. Thesis based can go for PhD directly, while course based can't. 1 Like |
