They sent a text to me after 8 days to say my results have been sent to the embassy... As for getting medical records... I don’t know but i guess you mean you want a copy of the result sent to embassy. You would have discussed with the Doctor that attended to you on how to get it. I don’t think the mail and call option would work but you can try. All the best
Thank you very much, that's exactly what I mean, a copy sent to the embassy. Actually, I heard one doctor talking about how someone can get a copy, but I didn't wait to listen to them.

Today makes it the 8th day for me as well. But no text or update.

Please guys, how many days does it take IOM Ikeja to send medical info to IRCC, and how can someone request for his medical records from IOM. Email or call or other available means.

Please, gurus..is it ideal to mention MARRIED when filling for the study permit? I did only traditional wedding and was on the December 30th 2021.
What proof they'll ask for Incase I mention married? And is it ideal to mention?

Pictures alone cannot suffice...they only serve as additions to your marriage certificate. If you said you're married, you're expected to provide a verifiable certificate, and date of marriage. Infact, in the new portal, there's a dedicated document space for marriage certificate alone.

What you can do is to select NO, but in your SOP, state that you have had your traditional marriage and add pictures to your application. You can also mention that your official marriage date is coming up soon.
OR, do it asap and kuku add it.

But don't choose yes when you don't have marriage certificate yet.

Congratulations!
So IRCC waited for a month after BVL to drop your PPR... That's not fair. They just wasted a whole month and gave you mental stress. All in all, we thank God it has finally dropped. Congratulations once again

Good day everyone,

So I checked out my dad's business name on cac website and it was tagged as inactive.
The business name was Registered around 2019, and since then he hasn't filed for annual return.
Does anyone know how I can reactivate it.
Because I talked to someone who calls him self an agent, and I was told to pay him 50,000 naira for him to help me reactivate.
LOL..
50k bawo.
With just 10k you can activate it. I did mine 8k, the person collect 2k. Although, it's not necessary for study permit, but if you wish, you can do it.

Thanks for any tangible advice
My first degree is Biological science and I have a pgde in Education. Is that a right step?
Yes, you can.... In as much as you did some prerequisite courses in your PGD (ẹ.g Psychology of Education, Teaching Methods, Curriculum instruction, History of Education etc)
Most universities require some of these prerequisite courses either during B.Ed or PGD

A reference letter can suffice for your previous jobs, and you can also show a pictures of you at the previous jobs if you have one.
Thank you for your response, I appreciate!

You are expected to attach evidence of your present work situation(employment letter, paysips and/or letter of introduction). You can include the reference letter at your uncles place.
Thank you for the response.
Yes, I'm aware of that. I'm actually asking about the previous jobs I've had. In the new portal, there's a section that asked to list all jobs in the last 10 years. I'm now asking that the job I had between 2016 - 2018, can a reference letter only suffice as evidence? There was no official letter issued or payslip.

Please guys, I need some input on this from anyone who might have experienced same thing

I worked for my uncle's private company between 2016 - 2018 and there was no official letter issued. Will a reference letter from the company suffice to proof that I worked with them? Just the reference letter No payslip or job offer letter and it's been over 4 years I left there.

@oppemipo
In addition to that, your POF is not yet complete o

For you as the main applicant, let's accept the funding covers you for 2 years.

For your wife and kid, you need $4000 and $3000 respectively for a year. That means, you need $14,000 for both of them in 2 years. And you have $11,000. You're still short of $3,000.

Mind you, you're not expected to have exactly the amount needed, there are some amount of money you should also have for miscellaneous (e.g transportation ticket, emergency spending etc). That may amount to around $3000 CAD each for everyone.

Personally, I'll advise you to leave your wife and kid, and when you get to Canada after 3 months or so, then apply for them to join you. That will also strengthen your home tie. But if you know you have the money and strong home ties, you can go ahead and apply together . But don't forget, you have $38k CAD funding, don't let it go to waste.

Hello gurus,

I have secured a fully funded program at the USASK, 38,000CAD for the duration of 2yrs. My tuition fee is 8,095 CAD/yr, I also have 3.7m (about 11,000 CAD) in my Savings account for my wife and daughter living and additional expenses in Canada.
I have started my visa application but I wish to include my wife and 11 months old daughter. Can this fly, if I explain why I want my wife to follow me, our baby needs both parents at this stage of her life and leaving her and the mother could infringe on her right of access to parental care.

Please I need support on how I can package my application as I don't want to lose this opportunity. Thank you as you contribute.
Before you think of points to convince the visa officer why you're going with your family, what are your home ties? It could be the tiebreaker in the officer's decision!

Hello everyone, I'm new to this thread and I would be taking The SSCE EXAMS this year.
Please I want to know the requirements for a full scholarship to universities in Canada and what scores I should aim for in the SSCE exams
Even without scholarship, don't go to an examination hall aiming lesser than the highest attainable grade.

So I won't expect anyone to tell you C or B... Aim for the highest if you really want a scholarship.
Get like 8 A's and see if schools in developed countries won't offer you full scholarships. Nearly all top 5 students in WAEC from Nigeria go abroad every year.

Thanks for your sincerely advice, I already have a sum that can take me for 1st year tuition + living expenses. I'm only using a third party to augment my financial strength. As par my living, I'm still considering going with them but I still want to give it a try.

That's fine... But if there's no funding, it requires a proper plan and strong application to scale through.

@makano @lekiboboe @justmellow @ominni @frankrobon1 @scott99tish @Anon and other gurus. Please I need your sincere advice, I got a PhD admission at Dalhousie university and planning with my spouse and three kids. I am applying with a third party sponsor, my questions:
1. Is it adequate if my sponsor gift me around 12m which is enough to pay my first year tuition and our living expenses.
2. With adding my physical assets valuation document also count.
3. Can I ask my Dad to do deed of gifts to transfer some of his assets to me
4. Can also add my late mum gratuity papers worth 6m as POF.
5. With it be acceptable if I ask my employer (a Fed. College of Education) to provide a study leave for me to provide my home tie.
6. Can I also use my assets and deed of gifts to prove home tie.
7. Is it compulsory to pay tuition before application.
Thanks as I await from professional responses

Hello,

My advise might not really sound cool, but I'll say it. Doing a PhD without funding is Slavery... Yes, it's Slavery. Don't even think of it, especially in developed countries. PhD is purely research, and a lot of cost is embedded in it that's totally different from your tuition. How will someone spend so much, continuously for 4 years, and with wife and 3 kids. Sincerely, it's not advisable at all. Except you have twice of the total cost for four year + research and you don't really mind spending it

No 2. For a married person with 3 kids to use a third party sponsor is almost a straight denial. Because I still don't know what explanation can be given that the VO will not think "applicant is not financially capable"

My sincere advice - take your time to get a fully funded scholarship for your PhD.

Can one get financial support"easily through scholarship and student loan;

and can one obtain parmanent resident after completion of Master degree program (2years) on scholarship....

First of all, no scholarship is easy, you have to merit it before you can be given. But scholarship and student loan can be used for means of proof of funds.

Permanent residency is obtainable after a master's program even with scholarship. But be aware that some scholarships come with conditions that applicants must return to their country of origin after study. If that is the condition, PR and PGWP can't be given.

Please, for those that got Mpower loan, how did you structure your SOP under POF? Do someone need to explain reasons for taking a loan and how it will be paid and the number of years? Or attaching the MPower approval loan letter is enough?

iPhone, Samsung and any Huawei product
Even all these brands you mentioned must not be blacklisted and it must be factory unlocked to be usable! The fact that an iPhone, Samsung etc work in Nigeria doesn't mean it'll work over there. You can always run a paid check to know the status of your phone and know if it'll be compatible with networks in Canada.

Thanks for the help. I have attached a picture of my education and how I presented the work/activity. Let me know what I must do to finish this stage.

Ps: have been a student all my life
The last "unemployed" after school should be till present, since that's your current status. Don't select 2022/04 as the ending date. You'll see a box that ask if that's your present situation or something, the moment you tick that box, you won't need to select 2022/04

Thank you for your response sir. However I’ve tried everything, I have updated work/activity from 2011 till date with no gaps but still same error message. I have been a student all my life, I just finished my BSC and I’m going for my masters immediately. So I chose unemployed from 2011 till date but it’s still same error. Don’t know what to do now.
This thing is not hard, just relax and follow the instructions.
Last 10 years is 2012 - 2022. If you were in school within that 10 year period and you've already stated that when filling the education period, you will not include it in the working period.

Better still, list what you've been doing from 2012 - 2022 here, lemme explain how you'll fix them in.

Goodevening everyone pls is there anyone studying political science at MUN ? I just realized my admission for masters is course based instead of the research base I applied for...I want to know the implication of a course based program pls if anyone has an idea
No implication. It's just that thesis based always get more opportunities compare to course based.

Before a Course based student would receive funding, it would have gone round among thesis based first.

Thesis based can go for PhD directly, while course based can't.
