Landing gist dey only sweet express entry people and students who are leaving Naija for the first time. People who have been separated from their spouses for over three-four years and have traveled to other countries previously would not be so excited about landing gist.

I understand you... But my point is not about excitement. It's about providing important information about Port of entry requirements. If solid information were not provided on this platform, majority of us will not be able to do it ourselves. So, providing information about what was asked before gaining that final entry to the country is equally important, as the processing of the application. And it's not a must we put that up immediately when we meet our family, what about days or few weeks after. It'll help many families with kids on study or visit visa, and also the spouse with work permit.

Someone here told me how her 2 kids and her were nearly turned back at Pearson airport because she didn't expect the questions that were asked. She initially asked here that what are the requirements and possibly questions at the port of entry, and no one was able to provide any information... That wouldn't have been if we do drop landing gist.

Don't forget that questions that may be asked from a study permit holder will be different from work permit. And having a visa does not automatically mean entry into the country. Don't ever think such landing gist is not equally important! That's my point!

Why is it so difficult to get a landing gist on this very SOWP group. With a lot of SOWP approval for couples and families, people should try as much as possible to drop landing gist. The way we all ask questions now and then when processing our application, let's drop information about what was required at the port of entry as well.

The fact is, what officers ask at the port of entry from someone with study permit is totally different from someone with Work Permit and Visit Visa... So, make we dey drop landing gist for SOWP as well. It's not good to just ghost because application has been approved and we've received our stamped passport. Make we do well I beg!

This is a fact. I was not given medical request and did not do medical before moving. My medical was written N/A meaning not applicable.

If that's the case, I guess you have lived in a country where medical is exempt in the last 6 months - 1 yr

But I'm surprised why people say DHL doesn't do 2-way. Well, maybe to vfs Lagos, I don't know. My wife and daughter sent their passport to Abuja, from Ibadan through DHL (2-way) on March 2nd and we received it yesterday 13th.

No go waste money. If medical was not requested, don't do it. You only do medical if that was requested.

Your case may be different. And I'll say it boldly that you're LUCKY not to be denied boarding or turned back at the port of entry.
In the LOI given after passport submission, IRCC stated that your medical must be valid when you enter Canada.
Your case might be an oversight but that doesn't mean it'll be for everyone.

kennyjoy... They can send their passport for stamping, but make sure they have medical done before travelling, and send through webform and mail... Also they should have a copy when they are travelling as well, in case IRCC didn't update it on time.

They can submit their passport without medical, but they can't travel without it. Just make sure it's done and uploaded in advance before their travel date.

I don't think that's a great idea. It's better to upload each IRCC forms without attaching any document with it. Those documents can be attached under client's information.

Thank you very much, the counterfoil and LOI have dropped for SOWP... And only counterfoil for VV.
I asked someone who's in Canada,... It's only counterfoil that's needed for VV, at the port of entry they'll issue a visitor's record for VV and work permit for OWP.
So all is good, just waiting to get the passports back. I'm happy both are valid till 2027

1. On the SOWP, the counterfoil that dropped is not a clickable document and no Introduction letter. Please, what documents do I need to receive?

2. On the VV, what are the documents that would be added to it?

3. While travelling, what are the documents that will be needed at the airport in Nigeria and in Canada for someone with SOWP and VV for an infant.

It's the same thing.
Officially, it is called OWP (Open Work Permit), but because this route is available for spouses (and also children over 18 years) of international students and workers in Canada to work in any field, that's why many people call it SOWP.
It is officially recognized as Open Work Permit.
Don't worry about the notarization or name used, it won't have any negative effect.

1. No, it's not necessary at all. Unless you've already done it.

2. Yes, for employment and education, just write Not applicable or NA

I left Nigeria August 18, 2022, but I didn't apply for my family because my daughter's passport was not out yet, so I decided to finish 1st semester because submitting their application. On February 14, 2023 - the day my daughter turned 1, I sent a very emotional mail to all IRCC emails I know and also raised a webform Nairobi, Lagos and Abuja. Some responded with normal generic mail. 3 days ago I got a personalized email from IRCC saying that my application is still within the processing time and encouraged me to keep checking the processing time - which is 52 weeks, so I thought they are not working on the application and booked a ticket to Naija for next week. Seeing PPR this morning is still a surprise.

I thank Jehovah God everything worked out well.

This is too much... You really need to talk to your provider, and choose a better plan. Unless you use to make international calls, that's the only reason I can think of. I use Fido, and with 20gb, I pay $40/month including Tax, it was $55 before, but I went to their store and they introduced the plan to me. Even with the S23 ultra they offered me, it is just $110/month for 2 years + the 20gb data, call and text. (Although, I told them I don't need it for now)
$144 is damn too much for phone bill.

It solely depends on your province and landlord... But in many provinces, one bedroom is for family of 3 at most, but if the apartment has a den some use it as a room for family of 4.

Hello guys, please I need clarification.

I'm applying for SOWP for my wife, and the forms were automatically generated. However, I notice the Family Information form - IMM 5707 generated is dated (06-2019), which does not include any section for siblings information. But the ones I've been seeing online is dated 2021 and has the section for siblings information.
Do I need to replace it with the newer form that has siblings information or I should just use the older form? Please advise!

It doesn't take forever, my friend sowp was approved in 15 days and mine 7 weeks.

We both applied when our spouse were still in Nigeria and we got approved before they travelled. Do what is best for you.
