Bobomaigida:At the bolded. Any school partnering with Mpower will disburse your living expenses to you when you get there. That's part of the policies and agreement before a school can partner with Mpower. So there's nothing like accepting tuition only and regect the living expenses, unless the application's request loan amount is for tuition only. |

Chemgeek6:That depends on your circumstance... If it's to let them know you have an additional documents to be added to your application, state it clearly.... But make sure you state your FULL NAME, UCI number, APPLICATION number and Date of Birth. And use the email attached to your application to send the mail to them. 2 Likes |

mightysam002: Blakmandk: Sending webforms and/or emails do not in anyway affect your processing time or your application. In my case, I started submitting webforms and emails after 13 days when I noticed my medical was not updated to pass despite the fact it was done before submitting my application. I raised webform to Nairobi and Lagos, and I sent mails to all Nairobi, Lagos and Abuja email addresses I came across. 24 hours after that, medical was updated. When my application was about 22 days, I received a partial funding from my school, and I sent it through webform to Nairobi, Lagos, Beijing and London... And also to all emails found to Nairobi, Lagos and Abuja for 2 days, and added that my eligibility hasn't started and pleaded they should look into it. Although I didn't receive any response. But all in all, PPR dropped without eligibility showing if it has commenced... And my application took 5 weeks and 2days in total. So, sending webform or email will not affect the outcome of application or processing time. Unless you're changing some documents you've submitted earlier... like MBS, SOP or your own personal information. 4 Likes |

AfolabiZamani:Okay boss... If I get you right, you're a Transfer student. You've done your 1st and 2nd year in Nigeria, and you'll be having your 3rd and 4th year in Canada. If that is the case...and your annual tuition is $8,000 That means TUITION = $16,000 (3rd and 4th year) LIVING EXPERIENCE = $20,000 (2 yrs) MISCELLANEOUS = $ 6,000 (3k for each year, although no standard amount for this. It's just an estimate) Total = $42,000 x 335 (CBN rate for CAD) = ₦14,070,000 That's the total estimate you need. Since your sister has 20m, that is a good amount compared to your 14m estimated expenses and it's even good she doesn't have any dependant. Let your sister transfer substantial amount to you, at least something that will cover your living expenses for a year or even 2, if possible and I'll advise you pay for 1 year tuition (since you've paid 2k out of 8k, try to pay remaining 6k to cover a whole year tuition) Now, make sure you show your the relationship with her as a sister. Submit her birth certificate, international passport and pictures to proof she's truly your sister. Also make sure she write a sponsorship letter, affidavit of sponsorship, and submit her proof of work or business. Package your application well and write a very great SOP explaining everything "in-to-to". Ask questions on things you're not clear about and I believe you'll get responses from here. AfolabiZamani: Don't duel much on those refusals. You can get your visa approved if you package your application well. First of all, to know if the 20m from your sister will be enough. You need to tell the house, how much your tuition is, how many years of program, how much you have or plan to have in your account, does your sister have dependants of her own etc. Providing relevant information will help you get appropriate responses. 1 Like |

Toceen2022: So guys, here is my timeline. This journey started in 2020 when I applied to University of New Brunswick, but I wasn't admitted. I wasn't really serious about it then because business was going on fine, that's why I applied to UNB alone. Around April 2021, when dollar issues hit our business so hard, I lost a lot of money and it started to look like the journey will never be possible again. I discuss with my siblings and we knew it's time to make move and leave this country, because exchange rate means a lot in our Importation business. I decided to prioritize this Canada journey and started making a lot of research and reading on nairaland. First of all, I decided to apply to schools supported by Mpower, because 7 figures monthly income has dropped by almost 60%. I contacted many potential supervisors and one from University of Victoria fixed a date for interview. She accepted to be my supervisor and I applied around October 2021. I also applied to University of Manitoba. By February 2022, when I didn't hear from Uvic and Manitoba I quickly applied to Fanshawe, Conestoga and NSCC. March 2022, admissions started rolling in: University of Victoria - Accepted University of Manitoba - Rejected Fanshawe College - Accepted Conestoga College - Accepted NSCC - Accepted I opted for University of Victoria because I have a supervisor, no tuition deposit required and it is a Master's Program. I didn't submit my visa application for about 2 months because I was waiting for funding letter. During this period, I started gathering documents and writing my SOP. When everything was set I contacted Makano to review my SOP. He gave me a thumbs up, but emphasize on writing it as formal letter and did some editing, removing the sub-headings, turning it into paragraphs. I respect him so much for being calm. He sent voice notes to me to explain why he did some things and assured me it's the best. "I have been doing it like that and I've been getting positive results with my clients". That was actually his words. Thank you Makano, I respect you Bro PROFILE * First Time Applicant * Age - 38 * Status - Married with a child (But I applied alone) * School - University of Victoria, Victoria British Columbia * Course - Educational Psychology and Leadership Studies (Master of Arts) * Funding - $5,000 CAD yearly * Duration - 2.8 years (with CO-OP) Timeline and Documents Submitted May 10th - Application Submitted May 13th - Biometrics (Abuja) May 24th - Upfront Medical Updated (done on May 10 in Lagos) June 16th - BVL and PPR Eligibility was not updated to show if it has commenced or not... I also stated that my business generate $1,500 - $2,000 monthly and my wife will be the director in my absence and send 30% of the income to me monthly. While the 30% will go into Mpower repayment plan and 40% for my wife and kid. I also emphasized that she has her own personal business in addition with the 40%. I mentioned the worths of all landed properties but I didn't add any valuation report. It's just crazily expensive when I was charged 10% of the value. Na so I leave am o. I just have to give thanks to Jehovah God, he answered my silent prayers and to everyone here, I saw thank you. Lekiboboe, Makano, Ketima, CentennialGuy and others, you guys always answer my questions, I thank you so much. Please, let's keep this thread going so that others can benefit too. Cannyboy:I'll suggest you get a letter from your company that shows the amount your salary is, and how it's been paid... The 500k that enters your account daily too should be explained with proof, like documents to back it up. If it's a business transactions, receipts, sales invoices etc. This is just my opinion, you can seek gurus opinions as well. Lekiboboe, Makano, Anon123, Justmellow |

goldenedem:Hello Golden, Nobody can categorically tell you they should spend from it or not, maybe that's why you didn't receive any response. In very few cases, IRCC do ask for updated Statement of Account (SOA), and if the money is no more available at that period, it could impact their final decision. And if they didn't ask for updated LOA, fine. So, you can make a decision at your discretion. |

Buks03:Lemme tell you a straight fact... There's nothing like looking at this thing in another angle. No matter how long someone has been on this thread, it's certain that the person joined one day. So imagine when him/her Joined, and started asking questions, no one answered, please tell me, will the person still be here? Absolutely not! They may end up paying agents huge amount of money, because this platform is the only reliable DIY you can ever see. Even agents always hang around for information/knowledge. This platform has been in existence for over a decade (based on the other threads I've checked out). And it continues to be because many people keep giving information based on new developments. If it was to stopped in thread 10 or 11, we will only be available with outdated information... Providing timelines keep this thread going with latest updates and informations. If I asked a question here and I get answers within few hours or a day, then I'm expected to also provide my timeline within few hours or a day after my PPR. Anything outside that shows I'm pathetically ungrateful, and this applies to anyone who is on this thread. 12 Likes |

Even Access bank Xclusive Plus package that we paid almost ₦90,000 to get the card for international limit of $2000 monthly has been disabled... Everything in this country is just upside down |

Junene:Well, regardless of any advice given here, you're still the one to decide what and what worth it. Is it to abandon your study and be with your family, or to sacrifice few years to get what you want and unite with them. Personally, if I were to be in your situation, I'll continue with my study. So far my kids are with their Dad in Nigeria, I'll be relieved to some extent. They are not with relatives or third parties, so I'm sure their Dad will take good care of them. The sacrifice I'm making is for the betterment of our future as a family, and after my studies they can join me anytime, if the goals have been achieved. If I chose to abandon my studies, what could possibly happened? Applying after 2 years, IRCC already know I was given a study permit in the past and abandoned it. What could I possibly give as reasons to convince the VO the second time that I am now ready and a genuine student? What is the guarantee that the situation that made me abandon my study would have been better by then? I believe any good thing comes with its own sacrifices. The 2 years I want to wait, I would have finished my studies and possibly get a PR or close to getting it. Then why should I keep delaying when no one knows what the future holds. We have seen someone here that left Canada and wish to reapply with her husband of a marriage that is just 3 months or so. The person believes its her documents that will speak for her again. That was her choice. And that's why I said earlier that everything still depends on what you think is best for you. Gracias 8 Likes 1 Share |
