Hello guys,

Please I need some clarifications.
If a program has Co-op, is there any section of the visa application that need to be filled to indicate Co-op, or is it at the Port of Entry that CBSA will ask and include it in the study permit?

Anyone please

I haven’t heard anyone talk about the school, so I wanted to know if the school is good to apply for
If your intention is to work and live in Canada after graduating, den run away from the school o. Although it's a DLI, but they are not eligible for PGWP.

Thank you Toceen for this insight on my CGPA. never knew I was down grading myself.
Pls my CGPA for my 300 and 400 level are
4.33 and 4.36 respectively. Pls how do I calculate it so I get the total for the last two years.

Secondly, a big congratulations on your admission. Am Soo happy for you. I just pray my own testimony will come soonest. Am really tired of this country. Pls I want to ask , were you given full funding for your program? I really need full funding because I dnt have money to pay for the fees.
For your 300 and 400 level CGPA, just add it up and divide by 2, then convert it to percentage. So your cgpa for the last 2 years will be 86.8%. Seriously you have a great chance of receiving full funding.

I've not received any funding yet, but by April the school will send it out to applicants. I don't know how much it'll be for now.

I earlier sent an email I sent to a supervisor on this thread and I was corrected in some areas of my email. I later revamped my mail and sent again, yet no response. I even used grammerly and depli checker to make sure my email was ok. Yet no response. Am just tired. I really need to leave this shit hole of a country, pls what can I do. I need to begin classes with the September batch, and Time is running out, but am yet to get a supervisor who has agreed to supervise me. Below is an email I sent to a supervisor 3days ago, pls is there anything wrong with this mail

Dear Dr. Andrea Kraj,

I am writing to express my interest in a master's degree position in your group. I hold a BS.c degree in Physics and Industrial Physics at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nigeria with a Second Class CGPA of 65% (3.84 on a scale of 5.0). My undergraduate research was conducted on the Construction of a Solar box cooker, to convert Solar energy to heat energy in a confined space that was used to boil water. The study was commended as one of the best in the department.

To acquire more knowledge in the field of Solar energy, I got an industrial attachment as a Research Assistant at an Electronics development Institute (ELDI) and was posted to the Solar department. I worked alongside a Solar engineer and was involved in the construction of a solar phone charger, solar rechargeable lantern, solar information display, and solar inverters. Also, we carried out projects of mounting Solar panels (PV) for some homes, offices, and universities that were connected to batteries and inverters used to power their homes and offices due to power failure. I was later posted to the R&grin department and I researched other renewable energy sources.

I went through some of your research articles, and the area of research being pursued in your group is very interesting. Going through your website, what my eyes saw gladden my heart. Your project work on the installation of a 900 kW PV System in Nicaragua is what I desire to do for my community and different communities in my country as a woman.

During my industrial attachment, I was made to understand that being involved in the Renewable energy sector is a man's world, and I seek to change that mindset. I come from a developing country where electricity seems to be a luxury that can't get to everyone, most especially, remote communities and these communities have abundant renewable sources( Sun) wasting away. This lack of electricity has brought adverse effects to the community in terms of employment and education. I seek to be that solution my community needs. Your publication on "Smart Cities Begin With You", caught my attention and I will appreciate an opportunity to discuss potential research ideas that align with your area of interest.

I am confident that my investigative qualities, independence, creativity, critical thinking, analytics, team player, presentation, effective communication, self-motivated, flexibility and adaptability, organization, time management, and target-oriented would be an asset to your laboratory. Just to also let you know, I just subscribed to your podcast- FEMPOWER. I believe that one day, I will post my story and it's going to inspire a lady or ladies out there, that no matter their gender, they can go into the engineering field and do what the men are doing, even greater than them. Am also a member of STEM. I am enclosing my CV and TRANSCRIPT. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing positively from you, as I believe working under your supervision will bring my dream of "Being the Solution the world needs" to a reality.

Sincerely,

Okafor Onyinye Augusta.

I sent my CV and TRANSCRIPT in PDF
Hello,
* First of all, it's late to start looking for a supervisor for a Master's program. I can categorically tell you that all applications for masters program for international students starting in September 2022 are closed, not to talk of getting a supervisor and applying. In fact, many have already received a response based on the application they've submitted since last year. So you can only start looking for a supervisor for September 2023 admission.

# No 2. I think your cold mail is too lengthy, you don't need to talk about everything you've done, just focus on areas you share in common with the professor, and few outstanding things you've achieved that can quickly catch interest (A write up says cold mail should not exceed 100 - 150 words) but with details that are catchy.

# No 3. Your CGPA percentage is not 65%. If you had 3.84/5 CGPA, then it is 76.8%. You can use CGPA conversion sites to see. Just Google "CGPA percentage conversion, select any of the search results, pick your grading scale which is 5.0 and input your CGPA (3.84) and click submit... You should calculate your last 2 years as well, if your last 2 years (e.g 300 and 400L) at the university is over 3.84, I'll suggest you mention it in your mail as well.

#No 4. Getting a supervisor can really be challenging. But in your own case, I believe they didn't respond because it is too late, all professors and doctors would have already known students they want to work with by Fall and admissions would have already be given out.

In my own case, I started mailing potential supervisors last year May/June 2021 for September 2022. It was just 3 that responded. The first person said she'll be retiring the year I planned to start, the second one said I should just apply and use his name, while the third one set a date with me and interview me through zoom. After that she agreed to supervise me and send my details to the department.
I applied to the school around October last year, and I just received admission for Sept 2022 intake few days ago. Mind you my overall CGPA is 3.8/5, but last 2 years is 4.1

So, focus on next intake, September 2022 is not possible again. All the best.

Hello Everyone,

There is an issue that is seriously bothering me right now And I would really appreciate your advice on what to do. I got to know that I couldn't use the same Study Permit application approval I got via Nova Scotia Community College LOA to go and Study at Fanshawe College some weeks ago after I have already paid C$10000 deposit to Fanshawe College.
Now, I have gotten another offer from Nova Scotia to another program, I am at the verge of forgoing the earlier issued Student Visa and start afresh to submit another Study Permit Application using LOA from Fanshawe College or accept the new offer from Nova Scotia Community College and start the chance of losing my initial deposit to Fanshawe College due to their stringent Refund Policy.

The Pros/Experts please how can I navigate this turbulent water?

I understand this is a very difficult situation for you. But you just have to decide and choose what you think is best for you and what you may consider as less difficult option.
The question you should ask yourself is,

* which one of the 2 options you can forgo, and that will give you great opportunity in Canada.

* how willing are you to go through the visa application process again, and what are your chances of getting approved, compare to the huge amount you've paid, which one can you let go. (Because you'll have a lot of explanation to do on why you rejected the first approval to go to another school)

Personally, if I have the money, at this point I'll let go of Fanshawe, and stick to Nova Scotia. If not for any reason, it'll be because of the new Atlantic Program Pathway

This information about NSCC is untrue. My friend tuition deposit was refunded when his study permit application got refused. You will only lose the deposit if you didn’t request for it after the deadline for withdrawal.

Well, I don't know how your friend got lucky about that. My facts are based on information I got from their website and I mailed the international office as well and got same response. Check the attached picture.

So, I'll rather stick to this information than thinking of trying to get lucky.

@Toceen2022...I also applied to NSCC and passed through all this stages too. Receiving a call from their agent is to confirm the genuity of your application. The agents will not ask for any credentials from you.
Just make sure you submit all documents required(especially your transcript).

You will definitely get a response from them as your admission progress.

I'm not gonna even proceed with the application anymore, they should eat the application fee. I later found out that the tuition deposit of $1000 is non-refundable even if someone didn't get the visa at the first trial, and if one chose to defer to another intake, you'll have to pay a new deposit of same amount.

It doesn't make any sense at all!

Did they charge you for service rendered?
No, applyboard don't charge for any services, just the application fee. When I applied to Fanshawe it was even free, although I don't know if it'll still be free.
But I paid 100 CAD for Conestoga application fee. That's all.

Awesome...

Did you apply to Fanshawe using an agent?

If yes, did the agent claim he/she is to handle your visa application as well?

Your reply will help someone here thats about to be scammed.
Yes, I used an agent (applyboard) for the admission. But they never claim they'll handle the visa application. They only provide a space to upload the visa approval letter when I've received the visa. Since they serve as an intermediary between applicant and school.

You will have go to the school portal, look for your preferred program and apply.

N.B: If you are a new user, you need to sign up

I did everything, and paid. I got a payment receipt that shows they received the application fee. It was after that they started the story of referring me to an agent.
See the mail attached below

I bet you, their next response is for you to pay so so.
Thank you very much boss, I've applied to Fanshawe and Conestoga already...
Fanshawe has given me admission, and Conestoga put me on waitlist.
But I want to get a response from University of Manitoba and University of Victoria before proceeding with any college admission!

Please anyone that have applied to this school?
I applied and paid my application fee on Jan 18th, after that I got a mail that they'll ask an agent to get in touch with me (as per say applicant from Nigeria) within 10 working days. After about 20 working days one Nigeria agent called, it was even on Sunday morning and said "are you Mr so so, you applied to NSCC" I answered and she said they'll get in touch with me if they need anything. Since then, nothing. I was just wondering, how will they call on Sunday, they didn't even ask for my credentials, transcripts etc.

The truth is if I had known that is their style of application, I won't even bother applying. I sent a mail to them last week asking for what's next, no response till now.

There must be a document from CAC that shows a list of the company directors and the shares allotted to them, here your name must show. You should attach that to your CAC certificate. That's all and when writing your SOP, don't forget to mention how you plan to ensure the company keeps running in your absence to show financial flow will not stop.

Yes, I have the form with me, it was submitted, stamped and returned to me when I collected the certificate... Thank you very much for this, I really appreciate.

Hello house,

I know it's important for self sponsor applicant to show the source of POF. But for someone like me that owns a business, it's a registered business with CAC but the certificate I have is only "certificate of registration of business name" it does not show my personal name. My questions are:

1. Is this what Self-sponsor applicant who owns a personal business need to submit. (see example from picture)
2. As it doesn't show owners name, how will the Visa officer knows it belongs to the applicant?
3. Is there any other documents that need to be submitted to show I own the business?

Thanks in anticipation to anyone who likes to respond to this.

Hello, silent reader here.. happy I can help on this. Well I am certain it doesn’t have to be an elder brother to sponsor. I sponsored my elder brother who is 26 and I’m 23… he got approved in February for an application he submitted in October (NSE route then) and left in may. I’ve put in my own application (July 16) waiting for a positive response.
Great, thank you very much for your response. I'm even happy it's from your personal experience, I'm more satisfied with it.
I pray your application is approved as well, God's willing. Thank you once again!

Hello Omini

Father, Mother, Husband, Wife, and Elder blood siblings are considered the sponsors expected for an applicant by IRCC...

Any other person is considered a 3rd party sponsor...

Peace
Boss, you mentioned Elder blood siblings...
Does that means a younger blood sibling can't sponsor his elder brother, if both are mature persons.
(for instance, a blood brother of 29 years sponsoring his 34 years old brother, possibly because he has more money)
