I don't think it's possible that Nigeria will buy additional choppers from Turkey. It just doesn't make any sense.

Besides the American deputy foreign minister already confirmed the AH-1Z would soon be delivered to Nigeria.
thought of it too
Except maybe it's not for NAF?

Respectfully please note Nigeria will not be buying the Zulu Cobra but the upgrade called the Viper.
The deal will call for training, spares (24 Engines) , most likely a brand new air base and probably a simulation training center
yeah the AH-1Z viper is also called the zulu cobra that for the "Z" there

After TUSAŞ exported its rotary wing aircraft to the Philippines for the first time in the past months , the second step in this regard is expected to be taken in Nigeria. TAI is holding talks for export of the T129 Attack Helicopter, which has been used by the Turkish Armed Forces for a long time.

According to the news of Selçuk Böke from the Turkish Newspaper, the Defense Industry Presidency (SSB) officials made a presentation at the Turkish Grand National Assembly last week and gave information about the developments.

T129 ATAK to Nigeria
“We have a serious defense industry cooperation potential with Nigeria. We have come a long way in terms of exports, especially in the field of defense industry, with African countries. We see a very serious potential in Nigeria as well. Last year, two OPV (maritime patrol ships) were exported and there is a serious export opportunity, especially in terms of ATAK helicopters. Currently, of course, our cooperation contacts continue.”

While no information is given on the number, it is expected that 6 T129s will be sold in the first place, and around 12 with options, as is the case with the Philippines.

Scores of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters have been killed and many others injured by fighter jets of the Multi National Joint Task Force(MNJTF), in the fringes of the Lake Chad

The terrorists were killed on Friday, June 1, by sustained bombardments of the military jets, at Sabon Tumbun and Jibularam, in Marte Local Government Area in the North East of Borno State.

the damaging Airstrikes targeted the terrorists in their large numbers shortly after observing Jumma'at prayers.

The sources said that the operation was executed on the heels of credible intelligence reports indicating that the ISWAP elements, were converging in large numbers.

"A battle damaged assessment has indicated that the air interdiction had recorded devastating impact as many Jihadist where killed while others were severely wounded.

"We couldn’t ascertain the exact figure of the terrorists killed, but they are more than a dozen”, he said.

recalled that the MNJTF had intensified it's coordinated joint offensive to dislodge and completely rid the Tumbuns Islands of terrorists’ presence and activities under Operation Lake Sanity, a subsidiary of Operation Hadin Kai.

Yes, Ugandan MI-28N considerably provide more than the AH-1Z which Nigeria would be getting from the US.

The Ugandan Air Force would be able to use their MI-28N as they please without any restrictions, while for nearly 1 billion dollars, Nigeria might not even be able to use the AH-1Z Viper against Bandits.

While Nigeria gets laser guided Rockets (APKWS) which is an amazing system and works effectively against armoured vehicles including Tanks, it is not an ATGM. So that's also an edge for Uganda.

All things considered, Uganda got a better deal.

Notwithstanding, Nigeria also has MI-35M helicopters armed with ATAKA ATGMs, also we have the possibility of upgrading our MI-35ps to the latest MI-35m standards. Although a big "?" At this stage considering the war in Ukraine.
either Serbia or Czech will run the upgrade for us
Plus it's the Mi24 variants in PH that are set out for upgrade...
Maybe paramount would do the upgrade grin

Military Airstrikes Foil Cattle Rustling , Kill Scores of Bandit-Terrorists in Northwest

Nigerian military troops have foiled two separate cattle rustling operations in Zamfara and Niger States.

The troops, with three Nigerian Air Force, NAF, alpha jets and helicopter gunship, also raided terrorists’ enclaves in Kaduna State, destroying their camps on Wednesday, PRNigeria learnt.

A military intelligence officer, that was involved in the operation in Zamfara, said 20 terrorists were eliminated at Kofar Danya area of the State, when they attempted to rustle over 200 cows.

The source said that, “Sequel to credible intelligence of a mass movement of terrorists with over 200 rustled cattle at Kofar Danya area of Zamfara, two NAF fighter jets were immediately scrambled.

“On arrival, the crew sighted terrorists on motorcycles in their large numbers, burning villages and rustling cattle.

“Subsequently, the aircraft immediately engaged the terrorists with rockets, killing 23 terrorists with many others sustaining injuries”.

On one hand, PRNigeria learnt that military troops on Wednesday evening sighted five motorcycles conveying 13 suspected terrorists to a canoe loading point near Shiroro Lake, in Niger.

“A few persons were seen waiting at this canoe boarding point just as other canoes were observed to be arriving and disembarking passengers some of whom were armed.

“Having confirmed that the persons are terrorists and their cohorts, air strikes were authorised, leading to the elimination of over 17 terrorists and destructions of several motorcycles and canoes,” a local security source said.

According to a local source in Kaduna, no fewer than seven camps of the terrorists were ‘leveled’ at Ukambo forest, by missiles of a military helicopter gunship.
