As part of efforts to checkmate terrorists and bandits, Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) has secured a contract to produce new 52 units of Ezugwu-MRAP vehicles by the third quarter of 2021.

Director-General of DICON, Major General Victor Ezugwu, said this was to improve the operational efficiency of the troops fighting terrorism, banditry and other emerging security threats in the country.

The DG, who disclosed this in Kaduna shortly after he declared closed the maiden three-day retreat for top management staff of the Corporation said feedback from the field has proven the efficacy of the vehicles, hence the demand for more.

The DG said the Chief of Army Staff and Defence Minister have released their training plans for 2021 with a call on DICON to produce new equipment for the Armed Forces of Nigeria some of which would be operational and tactical in addition to the ones already in use in the theatres of operations.

“We are also looking at supplying police and other security agencies a lot of non-kinetic equipment for their operations. We have been up and doing and this year, we are going to test this equipment and once they pass the field trial test, we are going to have mass production of them.

“This is important to us because we need to produce equipment for the Armed Forces to bring this insurgency and other crimes to an end. We have a feedback mechanism for our vehicles from the field. So far so good our MRAP EZUGWU has been able to play the role it was designed for very well.

“We are also working on the production of other vehicles which are on a prototype for now. We are going into mass production this year because we are already having interest shown by the Army and others. We are hoping that as we produce, we will keep improving as time goes by based on the feedback we get from the field.”

OPERATION LAFIYA DOLE: AIR TASK FORCE INFLICTS HEAVY CASUALTIES ON BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS IN ALAGARNO, SAMBISA FOREST AREAS OF BORNO STATE

1. The Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation LAFIYA DOLE has inflicted heavy casualties on Boko Haram Terrorists (BHTs) in the Sambisa Forest area of Borno State and taken out their hideouts in Alagarno, including a compound housing some high-value BHT leaders. The compound, concealed under thick vegetation and located 2.3Km North East of KAFA, was being used by the terrorists to coordinate their nefarious activities.

2. The destruction of the locations was achieved through multiple air strikes executed on 6 January 2021 as the ATF dispatched appropriate force packages of Nigerian Air Force (NAF) fighter jets and attack helicopters to engage the target areas in day and night raids. The BHTs were spotted under the dense vegetation of the locations and the NAF attack aircraft took turns in engaging the targets, neutralizing several of them.

3. The Armed Forces of Nigeria will not relent until all enemies of the Nation are neutralised and normalcy is restored to all troubled zones.

Not all hot pursuit is tactically sound, if you have drones then you track them, at a calculated pace, that you don't run into ambushes or traps, if you dont have eyes in the sky, just beg airforce to do the needful and decide to track them, painfully slowly.
Therewas a time troops pursued but guntrucks as luck was on our side the terrorists ran into their own trap of IED

When did I say this on this thread? don't bring up things from the other thread when i've explicitly said i'm on that thread just for fun.

however that said, Egypt does not have the capacity to invade SA....not even remotely close!

Also when do I lose control when the JF17 is mentioned? I've praised the fact that NAF has acquired the JF17 and that it is the perfect fit for the current needs of the NAF.....I did however say NAF needs at least 12 units of JF17
sometimes bro you just gonna ignore..

The Bell 412 is a fantastic helo, but we have the A109 which plays the exact same role as the Bell 412 in service. As much as I like the 412, I'll say me go for at minimum 10 more units of MI-17, 7 more units of MI-35M before the Bell 412.

Imagine the number of soldiers the MI-17 can carry.

We don't have the range for now, but remember that NAF fighter jets have operated from bases in Niger republic.

When we went to Mali our Fighter jets were based in Niger republic, when we went to Gambia, our jets were based in Senegal. So we really have options.

We need a 4+ generation aircraft, that's why I recommend we upgrade our F-7 jets, while we properly access our options.

I don't think the JF-17 is good enough for Nigeria.
7 of our F7Ni have been sent to china for overhaul and upgrade according to CAS
