AHEAD OF A-29 SUPER TUCANO DELIVERY: NAF COMMISSIONS INFRASTRUTURE PROJECTS IN KAINJI
In preparation for the expected arrival of A-29 Super Tucano aircraft from the United States of America by the end of the Second Quarter of 2021, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) is leaving no stone unturned in its drive to emplace necessary infrastructure at the NAF Base Kainji, for the seamless induction of the aircraft and subsequent efficient support of its operations. A key milestone in the preparations was attained today, 23 December 2020, with the commissioning of 3 blocks of renovated and remodeled 10 x single-bedroom apartments for Non-Commissioned Officers, 2 blocks of newly-constructed and furnished 110 x single-bedroom Single Officers’ Quarters and 6 newly-constructed three-bedroom Married Officers’ Quarters at the 407 Air Combat Training Group (407 ACTG), Kainji. Also commissioned was a 1.3Km road, to further consolidate the development of critical infrastructure within the Base. The additional projects are also in fulfillment of the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar’s, earlier promise to personnel, to transform the infrastructural outlook on the Kainji Base in order to enhance their professional performance.
The CAS, who was the Guest of Honour at the commissioning ceremony, charged the personnel to strive to meet the expectations of the country at this time of heightened security challenges by protecting the citizenry and critical assets as well as bringing succour to those in despair. He noted that, considering the effort and contribution of personnel of 407 ACTG in projecting Air Power across the Country, a befitting environment to further motivate them towards better output in their endeavours was necessary. “The projects being commissioned today are part of our efforts towards ensuring a befitting environment and better living conditions in Kainji Base. These accommodations and some ongoing ones, will ensure that personnel of the Unit have a conducive environment to retire to on completion of the day’s work”, the CAS said. Air Marshal Abubakar further charged the personnel to do more for the Nation. According to him; “Much as we have sacrificed, let us be propelled by the support and goodwill of all Nigerians to the NAF, to do more for our nation. Our loyalty and service to the nation must always be our motivation”, he charged.
Air Marshal Abubakar stated that the Service would continue to embark on projects that would ensure the comfort and safety of NAF personnel and their families as the Administration remains focused on ensuring that its personnel are proud of being Airmen. He urged the personnel to continue exhibiting high levels of discipline and professionalism in the conduct of their duties. According to him, tremendous resources are being expended daily to improve personnel welfare and motivation and therefore they must do all within their powers to justify this expenditure in the face of current economic challenges.
The CAS noted that the execution of the projects would not have been possible without the unwavering commitment of the President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Muhammadu Buhari, who, in spite of the current economic realities, continues to provide necessary support to ensure the operational readiness of the Armed Forces of Nigeria. Air Marshal Abubakar reaffirmed the absolute loyalty of NAF personnel to the Nigerian Nation and the sustenance of democratic values in the Country. He also expressed his sincere appreciation to the host community for its support and the peaceful co-existence with the NAF.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Commander 407 ACTG, Squadron Leader Gambo Maidawa, expressed profound appreciation to the CAS for according high priority to the provision of adequate infrastructure for enhanced professional performance. He said the conductive residential accommodation for the personnel would translate to increased work drive and heightened morale for the attainment of the NAF’s Mission. The Commander therefore pledged the commitment of personnel of the Unit, who would continue to offer dedicated service while working passionately towards the effective and efficient accomplishment of assigned tasks.
Also present at the event were the Air Officer Commanding Air Training Command (AOC ATC), Air Vice Marshal Musa Mukhtar, as well as Branch Chiefs and Directors from Headquarters NAF. Others that graced the occasion were the Emir of Borgu Kingdom, His Royal Highness, Barrister Muhammad Haliru Dantoro Kitoro IV, as well as the Representative of the Chairman Borgu Local Government Area.

JUST IN: Troops of the Nigerian Army in conjunction with Nigerian Airforce & has successfully repelled two separate attacks this evening launched by #BokoHaram & #ISWAP terror groups in #Chibok town #Borno state & #Garkida village in #Adamawa state. Full details still sketchy
Raaven: OFF TOPIC : militias from Hashd Al-Shaabi carried-out their largest ever rocket attack at the GreenZone of Baghdad, Iraq among these eleven have hit the residential area of US Embassy. we can see the USMC's C-RAM air defense system trying to shot-down some of the rockets.
jln115: this isn't the Kenya vs Nigeria thread...... This thread is meant for mature and serious discussion which are way above your intellectual level......
thank you bro.. But I think it's best we avoid him
AskiaHarem: NO NO NIGERIA BAAAAAAAAAD! NIGERIA IS THE REASON FOR TERRORISM IN THE WORLD NIGERIA STARTED WW1 AND WW2 NIGERIA FUNDED THE NAZIS NIGERIA CREATED COMMUNISM BUHARI ASSASSINATED JFK KENNEDY, THOMAS SANKARA, AND PATRICE LUMUMBA THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT CRUCIFIED JESES CHRIST

dude What the fvck is wrong with you... Very childish post
Troops of Army Super Camp 11 & 401 Special Forces Brigade of Operation Lafiya Dole have killed 9 #ISWAP terrorists in the #CrossKauwa/#Gambouru axis of #Borno State. Troops also destroyed 3 gun trucks with recovery of 3 AK-47 rifles and ammunition.
kabe1: Once the kidnap happened, the military, army and air force sprang to action. There was an initial exchange of fire with an advanced military team.
In other to avoid civilian casualties, the army was ordered to tail the adductors and prevent them any freedom of movement.
The military immediately deployed ISR aircrafts, drones, helicopters, fighter jets, armour and special forces to cordon the general area.
Boko-Haram Terrorists wanted to take advantage of the situation, hence the propaganda video Shekau released.
While the area was cordoned off the army government weighed their options, and chose the best possible action to save all the boys kidnapped.
See below pictures from the actual military operation and cordon.
Also if those kidnappers took more time We would have been forced to use military action cos the special forces deployed at that time were ordered to stand down.
The Military used SHOW OF FORCE to get those boys out..
komekn: We are back to perspective and expectations.
Using a huge searchlight in the middle if the night to look for people. That is so 1970's technology.
You automatically become a target for gun trucks and even Rpg7's, because you are using the naked eye and flying low to find your targets. It really is an exercise in futility.
Things have moved on in today's modern world basic technology means FLIR thermal imaging cameras. That's on a duplicity of platforms UAV's large and hand launched, multiple aircraft including helicopters. As well as on armoured vehicles. Means targets can be seen from 1-5 km and further depending on the platform used.
With the right communications infrastructure and interfacing they should have been isolated within 30 minutes. With land forces making an effective cordon around the area of interest. They will be abandoning the children and running for thier own safety.
the Helo also has FLIR pods so the people that mounted the Search lights are fools abi. Also with the kind of weapons the terrorists had it will be unable to bring down the helo.
1. How long did the operation take by the bandits, to round up these 300 children and take them captive.❓
2. Within 5 minutes communication of the attack was made to security forces. How long did they take to respond and what was the nature of their response ❓
3. How where the 300 children transported from the school through very inhospitable terrain❓ Did they walk, were they taken in trucks or on motorcycles. Imagine how long a convoy of sorts with 300 + children will be.
Then ask yourself if a reactive delayed response is representative of a well trained and equipped army.
The response was not PROACTIVE.
Your response is a reflection of your expectations, unfortunately they are very LOW.
In comparison to you l am guilty of expecting a LOT MORE.
1. I can't answer that 2.You can't tell it depends on what the troops on patrol where alerted when they arrived the scene it resulted to gun battle but we're dealing with kids here those terrorists tried to used them as shield in order for the boys not to get killed in crossfire troops had to withdraw. 3.According to the boys they where made to walk.
Now if the troops hadn't responded quickly by now those boys where about would be unknown possibly In Niger but where..
Now you think this is Hollywood where something just happen then boom army comes and saves the day. Bro they're some things to be considered
komekn: You are trying to justify the unjustifiable.
For how long has the military had knowledge of the locations of bandits, Jihadists, criminal kidnapping gangs.
But in some cases corruption created inaction and complicity.
With regards to Boko Haram and other Jihadists terrorists organisations in the North. It's inexplicable, Boko will attack with rickety gun trucks and we will abandon our MBT and run.
Please there is no excuse for this level of crass ineptitude.
Or shall we talk about 300+ boys kidnapped and walked through the bush on foot with our security response essentially non existent. Within 5 minutes of the attack the NA were informed.
Your last paragraph
The Bandits attacked the School few moments later troops on patrol were alerted and responded I'm sure you know what's called collateral damage. This was what the troops avoided cos the terrorists used the kids as human shields hence troops withdrew.
In order to avoid Chibok incident whereby they'll claim they are still searching for the boys NAF deployed attack helos that same night to search for the boys: check on channels one of the boys who escaped claimed that night when they where in the bush military helicopters hovered passed them.
Now the next morning in order for the terrorists not to move the boys to Niger cos that was everyone's fear troops in collaboration with ISR and local vigilante located the boys and blocked every exit and entry point of the VIO while Helos and ISR kept overhead watch...till day 6
All this and you claimed their response was non existent broo God bless you...
Valkrie: In this country...do you sincerely expect a newspaper to carry such story..?
I believe you know what negotiation means and as far as we all know Boko and Herdmens are never in the business of Santa Clause...!! Even these days before you see Santa claus you must pay gate fee so nothing is free...
All of us here know wetin dey so let us keep rubbing powder on ourselves and pretend all is ok and fine...!!

All the troops who have come here to help us, please send them back," one of the abducted schoolboys pleaded in the released video.
Stormtrooper11: Sorry,i don't understand. Would the drone be operated by the nigerian navy or nimasa. Cos i learnt that its Nimasa that took the delivery
it's part of the deep blue project..it will be operated by nn
Whyem15: Security is everyone's responsibility and duty. Citizens have a very important role to play in the security of lives and properties in their immediate environment. Virtually all of us have failed in this aspect yet we expect the police and the military to perform miracle. First expose the criminals and potential criminals in your families and communities and encourage others to do so too and see if you won't enjoy the peace that you so much crave.
bro you're one of the few people talking Sense here... Sabi man
