Politics › Re: APC Will Crumble And Disappear By 2014 - Okupe by tomakint: 3:53pm On Apr 24, 2013
The question is will our YOUTHS ever learn from our leaders past mistakes? This calls for sober reflection, I laugh at so many naïve-minded clowns in the house who feels the hurriedly-formed APC is the need of the hour in the 'murky waters of Nigerian politics', let's consider the following; assuming APC presidential flag-bearer emerges as the next President of Nigeria, is he planning to change from our expensive Bi-Cameral legislature to a Uni-Cameral one? Which of the political parties will constitute majority on the floor of the house? Are they planning to tackle the exigencies of running this wasteful system of government we are currently running? Are they making education free from primary schools to secondary schools? Are they willing to reduce the numbers of political appointees of governments in order to save costs of running government? What are their plans towards agriculture? How much are they projecting to save for the country in the next 4 years? Are they considering the benefits of health care for the aged? I can go on and on.....unfortunately, looking at their make-shift manifestoes and speeches on what they intend to do, I am yet to see any of such undecided What a party indeed!

Standing5: The ruling PDP really need to take a rest and strategize on what to do and to go about it. It is not all about pulling your rivals down all the time, today we have ACN all over the south west because the PDP was fumbling if care is not taken PDP will lose other statements to these so called regional and tribal parties like they did in the south west.
You may not want to believe this gospel truth but you are free to quote me when it will eventually happen, ACN will never regain Ondo State (I am talking as a son of the soil, so don't even go there), Oyo and Ekiti will likely lose their gubernatorial seats to the opposition party (probably PDP)! You can quote me cool

donroxy: since u stand to be corrected then u would be corrected.....

Why are u people afraid of competition, why are u afraid of change, why do u people always see the present not the future,is PDP operating Optimally,is this how and what our country should be,how do we change our governance, how do we reshape our political ideology,u lambasted all oppositions as ''regional parties'' with ''Regional agenda'' not ''Nigerian Agenda'' now the oppositions are going ''National'' u people are crying wolf.............Do u want to remain this way..........Don't u know the essence of competition.........huh??

We need check and balances,we need change......

PDP is a military party,we need democratic party (APC)smiley

Tomakint, answer my question one after the day if u meant business!!!

As for Okupe,APC will Hire him as ''attack Dog'' when it emerged in 2015 ......!!! grin
Honestly Donroxy, I wanted to answer the questions you directed at me only for me to discover that you are a CLOWN undecided the problem with you folks is, what would a party that still parades, Tinubu (potential drug baron), Tom Ikimi (political prostitute), Audu Ogbeh (a former stooge of Obj and a potential cross-carpeter), and other funny elements within the party do now or in the future that would be different from what PDP has been doing? Please answer....

Gbawe: He knows nothing at all because he is the typical embodiment of Nigerian youths. Vacuous, materialistic and crassly myopic.

Which of us will live forever? Is it not worth making sacrifices and fighting for some causes at certain stages in life even if the outcome/future is unknown? The only thing constant in life is change.

We saw young Egyptians, Tunisians and Libyans lay their lives down for what they believed in recently. ACN is merely merging with others and Okupe is showing himself to be a mercenary who will never understand the concept of moving out of a comfort zone in trying to achieve something worthwhile.

Okupe is then joined in this idiotic display by the Nigerian youths in cyberspace who validates Rotimi Amaechi's recent utterance that Nigerians are too weak and docile to ever do anything radical about their current awful predicament.

Let us not forget it is this same Okupe who showed exactly what he believed in recently with the utterance that "when people unite to share what is scarce and you have no one to fight for you, then there is a problem". He said this in regard to the SW not having weighty offices at the centre, enabling charlatans like him to 'eat', when men of ideas appreciate it is about the quality of life of ordinary Nigerians.

Did even Jesus not sacrifice for the salvation of humanity? Okupe and his backers on Nairaland are the disgraceful elements testifying to the ugly aspects of what some Nigerians are. I.e materialistic opportunist and fraudsters who rationalise everything via the perspective of never losing control of the money and 'juicy' positions. When the merger did not work last time it was the charlatan you respond to here and the Okupes in our polity who mocked that the opposition Parties were "too selfish to put their difference aside". Now they talk of "suicide". Hypocritical double-speak.

Yet, I only smell the fear of those who know Nigeria is about to change for good.
Gbawe! Gbawe!! Gbawe!!! \your political naivety is becoming embarrassing lately, did you just said this; "Yet, I only smell the fear of those who know Nigeria is about to change for good" shocked shocked and you wonder why Lagos that has been under the firm grip of Tinubu since 1999 is still the way it is despite the billions (about N40 billion) Lagos in internally generating every month? So in your 'sagacious analyses' are we to rely on the amalgamation of those 'political desperados' as the hope of a Nigeria? You need to change your first drug switch to another one Gbawe! undecided
Politics › Re: Tinubu, Others Have Committed Political Suicide - Okupe by tomakint: 8:36am On Apr 24, 2013
In as much as many people will not agree with the submission of Okupe here, it is very glaring that ACN has been taken to the slaughter house in future elections in SW as a result of the merger with APC! I stand to be corrected, ACN still has more relevance in the national scene as a strong opposition unlike the hurriedly planned APC, yes Okupe was absolutely right on this one that, ACN has just committed political suicide with that political amalgamation with other strange bed fellows cool
Politics › Re: Who Is The Finest President Nigeria Has Ever Produced?? by tomakint: 11:12pm On Apr 23, 2013
Sanni Abacha!
Merits: He set up the first failed bank tribunal, thereby salvaging the nation's banks from total collapse. He signed the privatization of telecommunication licence hence giving birth to GSM. He tackled the hausa/fulani hegemony headlong by deposing the megalomaniac sultan of sokoto to Taraba state. He was a loyal soldier to his superiors.
Demerits: the vision 2010 initiative (sold to him by sychophants) to perpetuate himself in power turned Abacha into something else

So far so good, the truth has been said about talentless dbanj! His arrogance that soars to high heavens might be one of his undoing no doubt! If youtube were to have been launched during Majek Fashek, "Majek Fashek in New York" I wonder the number of hits it would have generated! I wondered why most Nigerians loves celebrating mediocrity undecided up till date I dont even know the guy's genre of music! I dont need Americans to tell me dbanj is clueless and his songs, nursery rhymes! This is just the FACT cool
Politics › Re: No More Tribal Attack In Politics Section by tomakint: 10:39pm On Apr 23, 2013
@ Ikenna you are on a mission and already the bigots, tribalists and the good for nothing ones are scheming hard to edge you out by all means just be focused and do the needful! Oh yes, they must rant, abuse, curse and call you names but always remember that you are on a mission and already your relevance here is actually attracting those criticisms because they are fully aware that, it is not going to be 'business as usual'! cool

naptu2: Finally! I want to commend the maturity of the moderators and also suggest that we should try and tone down the acrimony on this thread.

The thread is for complaints, enquiries and suggestions to the mods, but it has been derailed and turned to a venue for insults and personal attacks (which are against the rules of nairaland).

I note that two posters, eggheaders and tomakint are currently having a go at each other. I hope the mods would do something about them in order to restore sanity to the thread.
Point of correction, nothing of such! Didn't you see my recent posts concerning the said 'character', he is not disturbing me and nothing like having a go with each other, I am actually losing some of my posts as a result of his vulgar and incoherent comments, so I thought you should understand why I am asking the Mod to apply any punitive measure deemed fit! Once again he is nothing to me, but he is derailing my thread, I don't engage him I call him 'AIRHEAD' and it is for a reason he is aware of and many people here too cool
Politics › Re: Let's Have Your Complaints, Suggestions & Enquiries Here by tomakint: 10:16am On Apr 23, 2013
OAM4J: Apology accepted.

I gave you my reasons already for hiding the post, it was not to malign you or anyone but to maintain orderliness since the said posts were derailing the thread running to more than 3 pages, clouding the on-topic posts without any check.

I have not made any final say outside the rules and outside the issues that were already discussed with Seun, debated here and in the moderator section. What is fair is you not making and enforcing 'new rules' in the section without carrying your other moderators along. I asked you at the moderator section when your 1st post here seems to be suggesting un-discussed new rules, told you the need to discuss any new rules before announcing and implementing them and you said you were not making any new rules. So, pray tell me any final say I made here that were out of order or out of already established rules and concluded debates.

I have nothing personal against you, or what you are doing. I just don't like operating in a confusing and disorderly environment.
At least we are getting somewhere here, even though I have never been a fan of OAM4J but at least for the sake of peace within the camp of the 3 Mods, this is a welcome development! Are you going to reveal my hidden posts now?

Trust me, the story of Orkah reminds me of the mission of Kaduna Nzeogwu! Nigeria by now would have long been liberated cool

Ikenna351: OAM4J,

I apologise for my previous post here addressed to you publicly, which should have been done via PM or in mod section.

But please, let us (the moderators) in this section treat one another fairly. Lets not give the impression that "My decision here is final". It doesnt feel right to hid your co-mod posts in complaint thread, when those posts are not off-topic. But am not doing the blame thing anymore, but to ask for forgiveness.

I will try and stay out of this thread, so that i dont give the tribal bigots the room to win this war we all have started.

Please, we are good and i pray you accept my apology.

Ikenna.
***I just like the MATURITY of this guy*** however, I made mention of a character called, 'eggheaders' kindly take note of my request and carry out the necessary punitive measure, I have lost many of my posts here as a result of his 'baseless and incoherent comments' to my post as a result of that singular act, I hereby declare him an 'unwelcome contributor' to any of my posts here please, he is not the TYPE to relate with! Thanks
Politics › Re: Let's Have Your Complaints, Suggestions & Enquiries Here by tomakint: 9:22am On Apr 23, 2013
Good morning Mods, I want to state before all, that henceforth I would not want a character called, 'eggheaders' reacting to or commenting to my post any longer, most times my good posts here ended up being hidden as a result of his contribution to my post. I believe we have our differences and I personally respect other people's views here even though I don't agree with them all as much as people don't agree with mine! Please any attempt by the said character reacting to my posts any longer deserves a ban because I am willing to inform you guys immediately! Afam4eva, OAM4J and Ikenna351 take note! Thanks
