nurus: I don't think there is need to have NDA in all regions.Am use to the happenings in NDA and if you watch closely, southerner always control the affair of Nigeria Navy and Airforce because most of their activities is based on merit except for Nigeria Army which is based on man know man.
.....and you seem to have forgotten that Nigeria is structured in a way that the region that controls the Army automatically controls the country, trust me, the Nigerian Army is well equipped to quash any rebellion from our Navy and Airforce put together, if you are doubting ask any military personnel you will be loaded with 'more'! We just need to have more NDAs for security reasons!

Andre Uweh: The law school example should be applied in this scenario. Now we have law schools in the east, west and north.
Exactly Andre, you just spoke my mind right there! Why can't they apply the same law on the NDA issue, I was just wondering how come other tribes allow the singular mistake of having the NDA in the core North despite other military establishments already built there, could that be another scheme from 'Buckingham Palace' to give Nigeria away into the hands of their cronies (Northern Oligarchy)? Just wondering

Politics › Don’t We Need New Nigerian Defense Academies In Other Regions? by tomakint(op): 6:03pm On Dec 10, 2012
At the beginning of the Journey, the ‘Military Might’ of this great Country was placed either consciously or unconsciously into the hands of the core north. Out of the 18 security outfits of the young country then, 14 were placed in the core north region, principal among these outfits was the Nigerian Defense Academy (NDA) and the next sly move was the introduction of the ethnic quota system (in recruitment of soldiers into the Nigerian Army) to favour the Northern Region in the ratio of 60%, 15% each to Eastern and Western Nigeria and finally 10% to the Mid-Western region. This miscalculation placed the military power of this nation solely into the hands of the northern oligarchy. What Nigeria need to really breakthrough from the firm grip of this warped arrangement is to solicit for a new NDA in other remaining 5 regions. Agreed the one NDA is a sign of our unified armed forces numbers but what happened when the Nigerian Army (N.A) has become the Northern Army (still N.A). Indeed there is a PROBLEM!

Lionel Messi hailed as 'incredible' and 'gigantic' by Gerd Muller after Barcelona star breaks record for most goals
Gerd Muller has hailed Lionel Messi as "an incredible player" after the Barcelona star broke his record for the most goals in a calendar year. Muller grabbed 85 goals for Bayern Munich and West Germany in 1972 and the mark stood for 40 years until last night when Messi netted his 85th and 86th goals of an incredible 2012 in Barca's 2-1 win at Real Betis.
Muller led the tributes today, telling Sport1.de: "My record stood for 40 years - 85 goals in 60 games - and now the best player in the world has broken it, and I'm delighted for him.
"He is an incredible player, gigantic."
Muller, whose record as Germany's all-time top goalscorer is also under threat from Miroslav Klose, now hopes Messi will add to his tally before the end of the year.
"He's such a nice and modest professional and I hope he gets one or two more goals in 2012 and that he can then hold onto the record for the next 40 years," he added.

Sagamite: I think the 2 greatest prior to him were Pele and Maradona.

It is had to make comparisons because:

- Maradona played in a not so strong club football team while Messi plays in the best football team I have ever seen.

- Pele played in an era when it was part-time fishermen that were footballers and never played abroad in his prime while Messi plays with some of the greatest athletes ever seen and plays in one of the best leagues in the world and frequently against the best.

But against both he has won more individual awards and is doing the impossible while playing with the best.

Maradona is more inspirational but Messi has replicated everything he did individually on the pitch including his best goal.

Pele only played in an era where most of the players probably had my fitness, even the international players.

Okay, I lied about my fitness but you get the point. grin

That argument is not even specious at all.

- They were not even in the 10 for both FIFA and EU awards.
- If it was political, a foreigner would not win an EU one.

Nah! They play different roles but they surely do not have more dribbling skills, pace or dead ball skills than Messi.

Iniesta comes close in dribbling but is still behind.

Xavi comes close in dead balls but is still behind.

Vision-wise, they are both better but that is their jobs as midfielders.

As I said above, the two have the privilege of playing with many Barca/La Masia team-mates in national team. Messi does not. Unlike them, he has to play with team-mates that don't know the passing game he played last weekend and for 9 months in a year.

Put Iniesta in Argentine team and they would still win nada.

Put Xavi in Argentine team and they would still win nada.

It is the team style of play that makes Spain win. Xavi and Iniesta are key components, not the sole components.

He mostly plays like a support striker, not an out-and-out striker.

Barca plays with 3 support strikers.

Even if THEY work harder than him, they are not even in his league to mention them in the same breath.

I said he works harder than the likes of Pele.

And so?

He out-scored them when he left the midfield.

And so?

Messi has a better scoring record overall.

27? That is 5 years still left in him.

Maradona won the WC at 26 and was still king at 30.

Pele won the WC at 30.

27? So?

Messi does have an advantage but CR is not even in his league.

Compare CR to the likes of Henry, Gullit, Muller, Di Stephano etc.
Abeg free that guy you have given him enough lectures!!! Can you imagine him 'lecturing' us that C.Ronaldo is better than Messi shocked

Abiriba Autonomous Community was tagged Nigeria’s “Small London” by the great Zik of Africa in the 50s when he paid a visit there during one of his many campaign trips to the place. Abiriba is in Ohafia Local Government Area in Abia State, indeed the community is a master class infrastructural wise and I can tell you that as a community, it is a place to behold! I have heard of beautiful and well planned structures too at Mambilla Hills in Taraba State and I was told its one of the most beautiful place in Nigeria but what about Abiriba?

Nairaland General › What Is Your Lucky Number? by tomakint(op): 5:35pm On Dec 06, 2012
We do have a lucky number in our respective lives that bring us good fortunes if only we are conversant with those numbers whether we believe or not. Numerologists came with a concept that clearly defines how we can arrive at our lucky numbers. If for instance, someone was born on 8th July, 1985 numerically that means, 08/07/1985! Numerologists now device the concepts that when you add up all the numbers in your date of birth you must arrive at a single digit which automatically becomes your ‘Lucky Number’! The addition is as follows; 8+7+1985 =2000 and the next step is to add 2+0+0+0 = 2 therefore this guy lucky number is 2!
Note: Everything must end in a single unit!
*Mine is 6, what is yours? Have fun wink

Christianity Etc › Have You Been Cursed By Your Parents Before? by tomakint(op): 4:24pm On Dec 06, 2012
I will premise my article on a portion from the Holy Writ, the Bible (KJV), in the book of Proverbs chapter 26 verse 2, it reads, “As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come.” The above passage indicates that curse will not just come upon you except you have done something wrong to warrant it. Under religious interpretation, curse is an evil pronouncement, it could be a spell cast on someone, or words spoken carelessly and stamped by wandering demons, hence, working negatively against the good destinies of someone. Many of our parents (especially in Black Africa and particularly in Nigeria) are fond of cursing for no justifiable reason and this attitude has caged many bright destinies of many individuals. A typical example of parents cursing children was well captured in the Bible in the book of Genesis 49: 1-28 where Jacob gathered his children together and pronounce words of blessings and curses on them as deemed fit, my point of emphasis was in verses 5-7 where he declared negatively into the lives of Simeon and Levi for their spirits of anger and curse them according to his word. If you trace the lineage of Levi down you will see that Moses was a descendant of Levi (Exodus 2: 1-10) and if you critically examined the life of that great servant of God to the time he ‘struck the rock’ instead of him ‘speaking to the rock’ as commanded by God, you will agree with me that the spirit of anger in him was manifested and eventually cost him the Promised Land.

If you have been cursed by your parents before and you know it, do your best while they are still alive to reverse it into blessings for you, buy them something they will appreciate because curse is an impediment to the progress of one’s destiny in life. If they are dead and you are still under the influence of those curses kindly take time to seek for counseling from your pastors or men of God to advise you on what to do. The truth is, curses from parents to their children are very potent because its effects are futuristic long after the parents would have died and the cursed child or children would have forgotten. It’s an act that must be discontinued by godly parents because it will backfire on the parents no matter what whether the child deserved to be cursed or not. Curses are dream killers and delayers of one’s breakthroughs in life. Like I used to say, “Blessings and Curses are seeds that can germinate, be careful” parents in the house take note of this. My point!!!
