Power play in Nigerian politics is as old as when we got our Independence in 1960, 1,000 Jegas will only waffle and move on as usual, it takes some measurements of ruthlessness to rid this country of the various corrupt practises that has portrayed us in bad light to the outside world. It's a big SHAME!
Art, Graphics & Video › Shocking Moment: Giant Anaconda Regurgitates An Entire Heifer by tomakint(op): 3:54pm On Nov 28, 2012
Anacondas are the largest member of the snake family (Boidae), they are split into three sub species, they are noted just like the other constrictors as voracious feeders capable of swallowing animals ten times their sizes (yeah, you heard me right) here is a confirmed story of their attitudes in the wild with pix enjoy wink

Politics › Re: A Tribute To Ojukwu: One Year Remembrance by tomakint: 2:26pm On Nov 28, 2012
Ojukwu was buried with the recognition of a Past Head of State, showing that he was recognised as the de facto President of the Republic of Biafra, former Heads of State of few countries were there to pay their last respects. If I can remember vividly well, it was the first burial that looked like a Head of State’s in the history of Nigeria. His coffin was carried by Generals, God must have designed that Jonathan (a fellow Biafran) should be in power to accord the People’s General a befitting burial that remains a hallmark in the history of this country!
Christianity Etc › Why The Bible Remains Invincible! by tomakint(op):
If there is a book that has come under series of mutilations, attacks from different bodies right from Medieval times till date, all with a mission - prevent it from circulation! That book is the "Holy Bible"! It is the only true, sacred word of God (Yahweh) to mankind. It is the mind of God to us, the Book of all books, the best seller for the past 40 years and still counting, the most translated Book ever. Thank God for the BIBLE - Basic Information Before Leaving Earth! cool

Christianity Etc › The Mystery About Death! by tomakint(op): 3:35pm On Nov 27, 2012
Out of the five secrets about death, only one was revealed to us; that one day you will surely die! The remaining four; nobody knows the time or date he or she will die, nobody knows the type of death that will kill him or her, nobody knows where (the place) he or she will die and nobody knows who is next to die! I have heard from some sources and even from few people around that some 'powerful people' know when they will die (I mean the date and exact time of death)! It has been revealed that some even the types of death that will kill them, how true are all these claims? Just asking undecided

Like I used to say that, out of the five secrets about death, only one was revealed to us; that one day you will surely die! The remaining four; nobody knows the time or date he or she will die, nobody knows the type of death that will kill him or her, nobody knows where (the place) he or she will die and nobody knows who is next to die!

Bottomline: Do good unto others and live your life as if it is the very last moment you got. cool

You are a clown right? Don't be deceived by their pious looks, human will be human anytime, any day. The Bro I am looking at in the picture could be what Yorubas called, "Ina piti" ***in bed*** likewise the sister! They are humans with flesh and blood, and not angels!
Eyo is beautiful . as always, hats of to you Yorubas for preserving your "brabaric and grotesque" traditional religons and cultures. some people dont realise that it is the "barbaric" and grotesque stuuf that attracts tourists and pilgrims from around the world into 9JA and boosts tourism and the economy.

tongue
I am not against our 'indigenous traditional displays' I am only considering the economic advantage between our indigenous ones to the 'borrowed Caribbean style' which has generated more tourists unlike our remote 'traditional ones' where only few foreign tourists patronize!
Politics › Re: Chinua Achebe At 82: 'We Remember Differently' - Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie by tomakint:
In an open discussion a wicked man talks from both sides of the mouth, a good man talks from one side of the mouth concealing nothing that needed to be revealed. The Nigeria-Civil War was an ‘open discussion’ that actually opened a new vista in the chequered political history of Nigeria. The only useful tool we have now to discuss and contribute some meaningful intentions to the Nigeria-Biafra war is insight! The question I normally tossed at those political analysts or discussants who sided with the Nigerian government on the war issue are; “If you are Ojukwu, what would you do? If you are in Chinua Achebe’s shoes, what would you say? The Yoruba nation never lost 2 million innocent lives, the Hausas never lost 2 million innocent lives and these were the same elements (Yoruba and Hausa elites) branding the heavily marginalised Igbos at that time, ‘unpatriotic and rebellious’ – what a world we live in!

Truth is a mystery; it takes time to unravel itself. Truth is not in a hurry, unlike lie that is generally accepted, held in high esteem. Haven’t you heard the popular saying that, ‘if it takes a lie one thousand years to run a race, truth will overtake it in just one day’! After the civil war, Ojukwu came under barrages of insults and criticisms even from the same people he was fighting for. He lost everything he had worked for in his entire life, he went into exile na.ked! Gowon the benefactor of that war (extended coup of the Northern Nigerian Army) was hailed as the hero, a good man. Zik was seen as a true elder statesman but now we know better, who is the true hero and villain in that war!

Adieu to the Great Ikemba, a true Apostle of true Federalism, a die-hard realist who fought against injustice meted out to his people, a lover of peace, a man with a unique political foresight who lived and died for what he believed in! Rest in Perfect Peace Emeka, the Head of State and true Hero of the Republic of Biafran! wink

BlackPikiN: You can see how Ojukwu's name woke all these notice-me wanna-be hard men up from the other divide. lol
No sleep for the wicked.
Ojukwu's name will continue to torment them all the day of their lives.

IF u check out the signature of dayokanu you will see just that, he had murdered sleep truly by hating one of Nigerian finest soldiers and a defender of the defenseless!

The Biafran episode was purely a 'Genocidal War of Attrition' Ojukwu remains vindicated! Pa Awo in as much as I respect his political sagacity, shouldn't have partook in Gowon's war cabinet but based on the 'conditional clause of a Promised Presidency' Papa fell for the bait! I maintained that we (Southern Nigeria) have a common enemy, 'the northern oligarchy' FG only won the battles but lost the war completely (the aim of the war was to achieve a united Nigeria) but Nigeria is not UNITED cool

@Taharqa, I respect your guts you spoke like a guru! I believe in Jonathan too, but he seems to be playing unknowingly into the hands of the 'northern clique' you wanna ask why? Then why sack Azazi and replace with a former ADC to IBB, (Dasuki). My fear is, they will continue the game of distractions so that Jonathan will not finish at one thing, even though he had good intentions! If you look around, this is happening already in the area of security cool

Ngodigha1: Carnivals are borrowed from the Caribean, so it is a no surprise to see Carribean outfits. Reggae music also came from them to us and you hardly see people question reggae musicians for singing like Carribeans.
In Nigeria, we have our national and state cultural festivals and they showcase Nigerian cultural attires.
You are right about the Caribbean stuff, it appeals more to a wider audience unlike our mostly scary and grotesque indigenous stuff. Where av u been?
Culture › Re: Abuja National Carnival: My Experience In 2009 (with Pictures)! by tomakint(op): 10:27pm On Nov 26, 2012
ifyalways: Gradually, carnivals are coming to stay in Naija while our indigenous festivals are labelled devilish, going into extinction.

Imma spam this thread with pictures of "ekpe ohuhu,2011"
You have to juxtapose the global appeal of the carnival to our indigenous festivals and you will agree with me that the clandestine modus operandi of the rituals involved in our indigenous festivals will tone down its global appeal and make it more expensive to run
Politics › Re: Civil Service Reforms: What Happened To The Oronsaye Committee Report? by tomakint(op): 10:20pm On Nov 26, 2012
take dat: I am doubtful if GEJ is going to take necessary action on this report cos if he meant business he wouldn't have proposed over a N100billion for some of these MDA's in the 2013 budget. GEJ lacks the political will to carry out most of these reforms and the NA is not also helping matters. No amount of pressure can be exerted on an unwilling and inconsistent government!
Trust me, the Civil Service remains the strongest cabal that has been milking this country dry!
