RomanceIs There EVER Any Justifiable Reason To Beat One's Mother? by Tomaxzyn1(op): 6:18pm On Jul 14, 2016
The 1st time I saw it happen LIVE !...it was sort of shocking to me. A sec. Schoolmate of mine beat up his mother right in the sch. Premises coz she came to report him to The school authorities for somtin dat apund at home..
Stranger it was to me, seeing the boy feeling no remorse.
I later heard him reply to som1 concerned who asked him
"Dafe, why would u beat ur mother?"
His reply was "No pray for this kind mama wey I get"
His defence statement seemed thoughtful to me, tho what he did was so Out-of-place..I tried to no avail to contain the reason for such act.
Ppl dat av done it, give various reasons for defence
*she killed my father
*she's a prostitute
*she lured my sister into prostitution
*she got pregnant for my fiance
E.t.c
Yes..they feel justified on their action..they say "U dnt knw where the shoe hurts"

I put it to us: Is thr any justifiable to lay hands on Ur mother?..
Even if nothing seems justifiable to U..av u eva felt the urge to beat her due to some kind of provocation?

Music/RadioIyanya Dumps MMMG Because Of Ubi Franklin’s Wife Lillian Esoro by Tomaxzyn1(op): 12:18pm On Jul 12, 2016
Less than 24 hours after Iyanya announced online that he was moving on to set up is own record label, gist have started flying with regards to the reason for his “sudden” action.
Iyanya’s action appear sudden from outside because he’s a co-owner of Triple MG with Ubi Franklin. So what happened between Iyanya and Ubi Franklin or his wife? The record label both guys set up in 2011 now have Tekno, Selebobo, Mr Chibbz, and Tonye Garrick.
According to Joey Akan, Iyanya finally took action after a long period of incessant in-fighting and clash of decisions. Ubi and Iyanya, have been at loggerheads over finances and other key decisions.
Last year, the label had to let go two artistes, Emma Nyra and Baci, which according to sources, did not go down well with Iyanya. Baci, most especially had a special bond with Iyanya, a friendship that had been honed over several years.
Financial mismanagement issues are also a huge part of the disagreement. Iyanya and Ubi have long not seen eye to eye over the remittance of booking and appearance fees. According to Pulse, there have been concerns over Ubi’s handling of the business finances.
However, things got worse during and after Ubi’s big wedding to actress, Lilian Esoro, in November 2015. It is believed that Iyanya is not in favour of the union, and the effect it has on the business.
“Iyanya does not like the wife, and does not support the union”, Pulse source revealed.
Active management of the record label has been shifted to Paul, a staff of the record label, who now handles day-to-day management, and also is directly involved with booking fees and performances.
Tekno and MMMG (Ubi), were last week called out by a certain Canadian show promoter, Bless Ehannire, for not showing up for an agreed show as at when expected.
This year, Iyanya is currently returning to his R&B roots. He is planning a collaborative R&B album with EME singer, Banky W. So far, he has released two singles, ‘Type of woman’ and ‘Heart beat’ from the project.
He is trying to relaunch himself into the industry, and has come to the decision that he needs to split from Ubi Franklin, and run his business personally.
A wife will either make or mar her husband’s progress. All men need God’s grace to get a good wife.

Tolexander:
Thank you OP.

The difference between the two words is indeed similar.

I need not looking further to confirm from the dictionary cos the dictionary seems farther than my reach!
Uwc sir...
---------------------------------------------------------------------
*cos the dictionary seems farther FROM my reach..*
------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Farther Than" is used when comparison of 2 distances are involved. Eg: Lagos is farther than Osogbo from Abuja.
(Abuja is the reference point)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
"Farther from" is used when u express distance in relation to a reference point. Eg: Lagos is farther from osogbo.
(it means osogbo is the reference point)
--------------------------------------------------------------------
So in ur nice example which I humbly corrected.."My reach" is the reference point to the distance of wherever the dictionary was. I HOPE THIS HELPs

PoliticsFuel Scarcity Looms by Tomaxzyn1(op): 10:03am On Jul 11, 2016
Lagos - Most depots in Apapa, Lagos, will run out of fuel stock if the ongoing strike embarked upon by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria lingers beyond Wednesday, Punch reports.
Loading at Apapa depots, where many marketers get petroleum products to other states, has been reduced due to the absence of workers of the Petroleum Equalisation Fund Board.
The PEF personnel usually certify marketers’ trucks to enable them to get bridging funds for fuel being transported to distant parts of the country.
It was gathered that marketers were only loading to Lagos and other South-West states that required no payment of bridging fund by the PEF.
The Federal Government had said it would meet with the leadership of PENGASSAN today (Monday) in a bid to resolve the problem.
The leadership of PENGASSAN on Sunday boycotted the meeting with the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige and the Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, complaining that the invitation to the meeting from government was impromptu according to Vanguard.
PENGASSAN also said the strike it embarked upon was still ongoing and that there was gradual shutdown of depots and refineries, adding that the three day Sallah break was responsible for the slow start of the strike.

EducationUse Of English: FARTHER Vs FURTHER by Tomaxzyn1(op): 9:48am On Jul 11, 2016
Do you use farther and further interchangeably?
You’re not
alone.
These two terms have very similar meanings and
English speakers have been using them interchangeably for
centuries. However, there are subtle differences between
the terms, and the prevailing distinction that informs good
usage is fairly straightforward. Let’s take a look.

The widely accepted rule is to use farther to discuss physical
distances, as in He went farther down the road.

Further should be used for figurative distance or to discuss
degree or extent, as in I wanted to discuss it further, but we
didn’t have time. Additionally, you can further, or advance, a
project, but you cannot farther a project because farther
does not have a verb sense. Further also has an adverbial
sense of “moreover; additionally,” so you can say Further,
you hurt my feelings, but not Farther, you hurt my feelings.

While the above is a general guide to good usage, the
physical vs. figurative distance distinction is not always
adhered to in popular usage, a fact that you will find
reflected in our definitions for these two terms. However,
knowing the difference between correct usage and popular
usage will distinguish you amongst others in formal settings.
-----------------------------------

Correct: London is farther north than Juneau.
(Refers to distance)

Correct: This plan requires further study.
(Meaning "additional study," refers to amount)

Correct: According to my timetable, we should be further
along.
(Refers to time)
--------------------------------

I hope this explanation has furthered your understanding
of these two terms!

The Indigenous People of Biafra have reiterated against anybody who tries betray or sabotage the group will die, this comes after the detention of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, stating that President Muhammadu Buhari is out of touch. According to the IPOB, the Nigeria government is trying to form unity in the country which is against some of the ethnic groups' wishes. They state what the government is doing is a crime and will not work.
IPOB Spokesperson, Emma Powerful, has criticized Buhari after he stated that the unity of the country is not negotiable.
The remark was made while addressing guests who had visited Presidential Villa. The group have made comments previously stating that they would not tolerate Nigeria after Buhari said he would not tolerate the group.
RomanceHe Cheated On U Doesn't Necessarily Mean He Loves U Not by Tomaxzyn1(op): 5:07pm On Jul 10, 2016
It's over, isn't it?
He betrayed you in the worst way possible by having an
affair. While cheating on you may make you feel like there is
no way that he loves you, it's not always that clean cut.
Men cheat for many reasons and most of the time it's not
because they don't love their partners. When you hear him
say, "Please don't leave me ... I really do love you," take into
account some of the signs that he is telling the truth.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. He stops the affair For real.
Knowing that you are about to leave him scares him so
much that he stops the affair immediately. He doesn't want
to lose you because you really are the one he loves.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

2. He promises to do anything for you.

It can be difficult for men to lay everything down on the line
to win back your heart. If he truly breaks down and tells you
he will do absolutely anything to have you back, you may
have someone who truly does love you.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

3. He seeks professional help.
He wants to know why he had the affair and hurt the one
person he loves most. To do this, he seeks counseling to
help uncover the mystery, and show you that he is serious;
he didn't cheat because he doesn't love you.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

4. He admits his mistakes to others.
Men don’t want to come clean about their mistakes. If he
tells everyone how much he messed up, you know he
regrets what he did.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

5. He follows through with promises.
If you’ve told him he must do a list of things to show you he
truly loves you, and he does everything you ask, you know
that he is committed to you ... and ONLY you.

It is hard to believe he didn’t cheat on you to hurt you,
especially because YOU are so hurt. Some men truly don’t
think about their significant others when they have an affair.
It may not make any sense to you, and it may make you
want to run far away from him so you never hurt again, but
this is something to consider. If he truly didn't want to be
with you, he wouldn't do everything above.
RomanceLadies! Why U Shud Ignore Ur Guy More Often by Tomaxzyn1(op): 5:45pm On Jul 09, 2016
Let the chase begin AGAIN.

The key here is to recognize his behavior early. Even a few
days of him being quiet around you and showing no sex
drive(if the relationship wasn't platonic) could be the tell-tale signs of him getting bored. Talk to
him about your concerns and if he says, “I’m fine,” but
continues with his stand-offish actions, it’s time to get to
work!

And the way you do that is — by withdrawing your
affection and attention towards him!
What? Yes. (Don’t doubt me here — remember, I am a man!)
Unfortunately, most women do the exact opposite. They get
worried and start nagging, which sends him further into his
"man cave" where he'll try to date the 18-year-old University babe.. He will build contempt for you the
more you lean and try to hold on.
But, if you give him a sense of separation and time to miss
you, he'll get anxious and start thinking he might lose you.
So, what you need to do, ladies, is go into what I call
Man Mode.

This is where you start acting like him. Withdraw from him.
Run, don’t walk, to your outside social life ... you know, the
one you kept because you never gave up your hobbies and
passions, (remember?). Now, you're giving him the space he
needs to re-access his life. This should send him running
back, when he’s ready.

Why? Because you just eased his ball and chain fears. You
made him feel like he was single again, and put the thrill of
the hunt (getting you back) back into play, as if he was
chasing that hot 18-year-old!

Is this advice shocking to you? Yes, I know it’s sad, men
really are this way. I make no excuses for my gender; I never
have, so I won’t start now.

But try this technique and I promise you that, if he loves
you, he will be happy, content with his mini-van, and in your
arms again
. If he does not love you, you will know it early so you don’t
waste endless years with this man.

This becomes a win/win.
Romance11 Things You Should Never Say On A First Date (if You Want A Second One) by Tomaxzyn1(op): 3:45pm On Jul 09, 2016
1. “I Would Pay But I Don't Want To Offend You.”
At first this may seem very considerate, but in reality it gives
the impression that someone is an asshole who is
threatened by feminism. People aren’t often offended when
someone offers to pay... if they actually have a problem with
it they’ll say so.

2. “My Ex Used To _______”
I don’t care if someone's ex figured out a way to cure cancer.
No one, I repeat, no one should tell their date about their
ex on a first, second, or even third date. People need to give
the illusion that The Ex is long gone and buried.

3. “Do You Usually Dress Like This?”
Because all dates are going to hear is “I actually hate the
way you dress, please don’t be yourself”. It may seem like a
totally weird thing to say, but you’d be shocked by how
many people have said this to me when they finally meet
me after chatting online for weeks.

4. “Can I Kiss You?”
If someone is feeling it and wants to start getting physical, it
will be clear! Asking permission for a first kiss is usually a
mood killer. Consent is sexy, but so is not asking permission
when you know the mood is right.

5. “I Have To Teach You About Good Music.”
Because what the other person hears is that every musician
they just said they love, sucks.

6. “She/He Will Have ________”
Unless someone has said specifically that they want their
date to order for them, no one should assume they do!
Sometimes they want a burger when they've been ordered a
salad!

7. “When You Meet My Mum…”
Again, it's probably too soon on a first date to talk about
meeting the parents. Some dates will be really into it and
be flattered by the desire to be included in someone else's
life... while others will be extremely creeped out.

8. “We Should Totally Do _______"
It can be really overwhelming on a first date to start
planning far into the future. As sweet as it may seem to
appear proactive and into the person you’re on a date with...
people need to wait until they're 'official' before they start
talking 'we'.

9. Anything Racist, Sexist Or Homophobic
It's 2016, yet people still seem to think it's attractive to look
like a bigot. If someone does have something to say, they
probably shouldn't do it on their first date. If they really are
working on being a shitty person, they need to give their
date at least a few hours before they kill the illusion.

10. Stay Away From Politics
Unless people go into a date knowing which side of the
political fence they both fall on, avoid this topic. Politics,
especially during a presidential election, have the power to
rip friendships apart. The last thing anyone wants on a first
date is a drink in the face for treading into dangerous
conversation territory, because they told them which
candidates they think are idiots.

Abuja - The Federal Government has said that it refuses to hold a dialogue with the Niger Delta Avengers as it feels that the militants are not freedom fighters but acting in their personal interests to fill their own pockets, Vanguard reports.
Vice-President, Yemi Osinbajo said that FG had finalised plans to put an end to pipeline vandalism in the Niger Delta region while condemning the actions of militants who claimed responsibility for the recent attacks. He cited the continuous vandalism of pipelines as the reason for the epileptic power supply in the country as well as the inability of state governor's to pay workers' salaries due to the low revenue generated in the oil sector.

Wizkid in particular is no longer bothered bou his home-based fans who lifted him to whr he is today..he's obsessed with int'l recognition more than his primary assignment of making GOOD music more importantly for his fans at home..
