Christianity EtcRe: Religion Is Not The Reason For Backwardness In Africa, Our Leaders Are by TommyAnthem(m): 1:12pm On Jul 21, 2019
You mean the government is building churches and mosques, hope you are not one of those who blame religious leaders for lack of infrastructures in the society.
Kingsley10000:

NIGERIA IS BUILDING THE BIGGEST CHURCH AND MOSQUE

princeogbeide1:
Religion is simply the reason why Africans are poor and backward. We don't want to be logical and creative but we want a miracle to happen. In the fight for this miracle, we go to church and start donating money for pastors and the female followers offers their pussy to their pastors as well. This is a big shame on us because the British that brought Christianity into Africa don't practice Christianity like this. They don't believe in miracles but they explore and make the world a better place.
Christianity EtcRe: Religion Is Not The Reason For Backwardness In Africa, Our Leaders Are by TommyAnthem(m): 11:23am On Jul 21, 2019
You just contradicted yourself, if Africans had their religions and beliefs before the arrival of the whites and the Arabs and yet were so backward then, that means our problem is not wholly religious, it is far beyond that.
y3mi:
Before them negro-hating, slave-making Arabs and the colonialistic Europeans brought and slammed us with what is called religion, we already had our various belief systems.

Religion very much is as responsible for the level of backwardneas as much as them, and why should they be addressed as leaders when the appropriate word should be rulers.

If you disagree it is not religion then would you think they will gladly welcome into the constitution by making it compulsory during their swear-in session to take oath of office at the contactivated presence of just one of the vindictive Gods to never indulge in any corrupt practice whatsoever, I'll even prefer sixteen of them. But they will rather prefer the ineffective gods of the Abraham mytheology which have clearly proven uncountable times to be not jist dead but never to exist, nor have existed.

A thousand likes for you bro, further more, they should stop wearing clothes, they should visit babalawos when they are sick, they should use donkeys, camels, horses etc whenever they want to travel, they should even quit the social media and go live their lives in huts and caves because all the aforementioned are products of the white man and his religion.

Good deeds by the godly, but the root cause as you pointed out is not limited to only that region, so why are they predisposed to lynching and killing.
Yankee101:
Wow. Respect. That's the old typical Hausa people i know, honest, kind, fair and moderate not fanatical.

At every riot you find such people. One lay over a Christian lady about to be lynched. He said kill me too if you must kill her.

The root cause for unrest is mostly poverty and fight for resources as they use the opportunity to steal

need to try 9mobile if that's the case.

Airtel data subscription is worse. I use 9 mobile and airtel together. Though I use 9mobile more, I still recharge my data for airtel more than 2 times a week. I'm talking 3.5g while 2.5g 9mobile can stay for almost a month. Rubbish airtel

He is a very cunning fellow, he's just being religiously careful.
Angelfrost:
Why the cowardice?.. Why not extend the same courtesy to the religious book of Muslims. Are all Nigerians Christians? Was Islam not also imported?.. It would have served him better to make a sweeping regard or disregard to all foreign religions, instead of singling out the one whose penitents are meek, and do not easily resort to violence... He should take several seats, with all due respect.

Good write up from you, that Lugard deliberately amalgamated different nationalities into one, 'though
Britain will not want that for itself; shouldn't be an excuse for the disaster and madness we found ourselves. Our diversity is supposed to be an advantage to us, but our leaders have decided to do otherwise. But we are not thinking well. Every state in Nigeria is like a mini country with a comparative advantage, now imagine a scenario where all the mini countries competes with each other on a fair basis, by now we would have been the commercial hub of Africa, but some few individuals, less than 0.5 percent of the population is holding us so thight in the jugular that we are finding it difficult to breathe. Nigeria's case is akin to a land where goat is the king and lion is the subject.
You have done well. This is a good article.

The sad thing is that the situation in Nigeria has made a lot of people angry and bitter and in their bitterness they lash out and commit acts of violence ,not necessarily in fighting.

The sad thing about our government (and for that matter democratic rule in Nigeria) is that it has not taken the statesman like approach to solving these issues. Likewise, Nigerians too are not ready to do the right thing at all times. They want instant solutions to their problems...

Well, I can only hope for better for my country. This country really is a contraption, a zoo, a mess, a joke, and deserves every abuse it gets. Lugard made a mistake though....

But it is the only country we've got. It has a lot of lemons...but we got to figure out how to make sweet lemonade out of the lemons. I hope I can do my bit for that there.

Let the fulanis behave well like other Nigerian tribes, there will be total peace in the land. Every ethnic group have migrated from somewhere and settled somewhere along the line and no longer dreaming of expansion and conquest like the way the fulanis are doing today, truth be told, it is not going to be an easy ride for them the way Uthman Dan Fodio and cohorts did in time past, it is going to be very very rough.
Look, if you go far back in history, most Nigerian tribes migrated from somewhere and came to where they are now...as did many other African tribes.

The Lingala of the DR Congo came originally from what is now Nigeria for example.

I know the Fulani herdsmen have commited lots of crimes, and yes, they are wrong. So also have other tribes against the FUlanis. It does not make taking the laws into the hands by anyone right.

So, stop the bigotry. For all I know, your tribe migrated from somewhere else and came here. I know of one Southern Kaduna tribe that claims to have come from Egypt centuries ago. Does that make them foreigners.

Put pressure on your legislator to pass bills to strenghten the police. We all benefit from a peaceful country. Not from a replay of Nazi-like tactics.

Know that the Rwanda genocide started when some Hutu were calling Tutusi Ethiopians....

Nobody seems to like this bbn stuff, it still amazes me how they garner viewership.
etrange:
If you don't like the program, don't watch it. Don't allow your kids watch it. That should suffice. Let's those who like it watch. Don't force your morality on others.

There are numerous explicit adult contents online, our Nigerian music videos are pornographic, some of the movies we see today are full of se.x scenes, etc. How many have they baned?

I don't even know why we criticise BBN but hail our musicians knowing fully well that even BBN is not half as explicit as our music videos.

I do no like the show cause I find it boring. I don't watch it. It's that simple.

Why can't Nigeria adopt the kind of penalties Chinese dishes out to its corrupt officials in Nigeria,so as to clean the system,if it warrant killing every body in Nigeria. The kinds of corruption that's is the country eeehhh, devil himself can't even near us(Nigeria),if you hear the kind of money money public officials still from government coffers every day,u will be left wondering, can they even finish the money in their life time. I have come to understand that Nigerians still for the fun of it,is not because they want to still do to lack of it,and every day, those who still our common wealth see the kind of hardships we Nigerians are under going. If only the national assembly we just make corruption a capital offence,we can't attain the development we all craved for.
