mrking3: @OP stop giving us zobo here!! Even 50k can't be enough to celebrate one's birthday let alone of wedding!! You can't tell this honourable house of nairaland that you bought 2 bags of rice which I know is worth 20k, bought packs of fish and other miscellaneous expenses with 30k!! That's trash man! WHAT IS WORTH DOING IS WORTH DOING WELL! You ended up embarrassing yourself before your inlaws and the entire whole village! You should have saved up atleast 200k for an average wedding I wonder why the rush in the first place when you aint even ready!! I'm planning to do my white and Trad this year and I've tried all I can to make an average budget evrything will cost about 400k. That's even the minimum!!! For both traditional Rites which include marriage LIST, Trad, and white wedding. All will be done same day just to save cost. When I saw your thread I got attracted to read how you made it with just 50k but then, that's way below average! Just CLASSLESS! How do you do such lifetime event without serving people with common pure water, mineral and meat? Wow!! Who does that? Shameful bro!!! Well said. As if you saw my mind before posting this. |
Celebrities › Re: Igbo Leaders A Disgrace – Etcetera by tomzman: 12:07pm On Apr 18, 2015 |
A very sensible post. I couldn't agree less. Reminds me of a day I and some people wanted to take a picture. Some of us were asked to bend down a bit so our faces could be captured. While we all bent down, the Igbo guy among us refused and walked away saying an Igbo man never stoops. We went ahead and took the picture without him but till today, that statement still strikes a chord in my head leaving me wondering what kind of pride is that.
Igbos need a reorientation. Until you begin to love other people, humble yourselves, boot out greed from your mind and learn to work with other people for the good of everyone, you would continue to lag behind. |

ArodeTsolaye: You should take a sit in a gutter. You yorubas are the greatest revisionists know to man.You cowards waited until Prof Dora lost her voice and her protest yielding results in favour of GEJ's ascension. You are known for stealing other people's glory because you have never been glorious. Before you went on the streets to dance Juju music in form of protest, GEJ presidential fortunes were already secured by Dora's protests. Stop the deceits.
Yesterday one of you on NL even claimed Buhari was one of those that protested and called for a GEJ presidency during Yar adua's ill health. How low can one get in an attempt to polish and package his illiterate coupist paymaster. Please take a backseat. So what made them come out enmasse to vote for him in the 2011 election? or have you forgotten he won 5 of the 6 SW states almost flawlessly. I guess Dora Akunyili went to every Yoruba man's house to campaign for him. I could remember asking a woman selling beancake by the roadside who she was gonna vote for back then and she proudly said Goodluck. Before I knew what was happening, other women around joined in the discussion all agreeing with the woman. Some even gave his name as their reason for choosing to vote him. As a matter of fact, I know a couple that gave birth around that time and named their child after GEJ. That is to show you how much the Yorubas loved and believed in GEJ back then but he failed them and they turned against him in 2015. You now see why you folks never move forward, you are like flies that accompany a dead man to the grave. I advise you and your kinsmen to seat and have a serious reasoning session. Pettiness and sentimental politics is fast fading out. You would do yourselves a lot of good joining the tide. Do not quote me again if you intend to spew rubbish, you will be ignored. |
Politics › Re: We Don’t Regret Not Supporting Buhari – Ohanaeze by tomzman: 5:52pm On Apr 16, 2015 |
ArodeTsolaye: First, you are yoruba, known to very slimy, untrustworthy and politically unreliable. I've have lived in this country probably before you were born and i understand every groups political temperament.
If the Igbos had voted against GEJ numbskull neanderthal yorubas would have claimed the Igbos betrayed the Nigerdelta. They woukd have used that happenstance as a weapon to further divide the Igbos from her natural oil bearing neighbours in ND who have been living peacefully with Igbos centuries before yorubas started killing themselves and selling their body parts in raging kiriji wars before the british came to save you from self-inflicted extinction. Igbos have repaired the destruction of the Old Eastern region by clowns like you who believe that Chinedu from Ndelta must be sequestrated from Chinedu from Onitsha for you to drink oil successfully. Charity begins at home.Igbos are not Okanma na ama(Good only away from home), yorubas are the traitors and they will pay in hard currency. Mark it. Oh stfu and stop being silly. When Yorubas took to the streets to demand GEJ be sworn in as acting president, where were your fellow palm wine drinkers and empty chest beaters? Yorubas were not traitors then right? When they voted enmasse for GEJ in 2011, they were not traitors then right? You see why Yorubas are miles ahead of you? your reasoning is pathetic. The Yorubas did all that for GEJ yet he failed to perform and even took them for granted thinking he could buy them over by sharing Dollars to the obas. FYI, the Yorubas are performance oriented so the issue is not about betrayal. I am a proud Yoruba man and I can tell you that if I vote my father into power and he fails to perform, I will not hesitate to boot him out. Yorubas have gone past the age of pettiness, get that into your head. |

Politics › Re: We Don’t Regret Not Supporting Buhari – Ohanaeze by tomzman: 4:59pm On Apr 16, 2015 |
ArodeTsolaye: Nigerians should listen and listen carefully, the Igbo owe Buhari NO APOLOGIES for voting against him. NONE WHATSOEVER. Igbos will outlive Buhari whether he victimises Igbos or not.
Igbos do not beg people for voting their conscience, sebtimental or not. Infact it is HIS JOB TO WOO IGBOS, not the other way round.Buhari as a Fulani maybe greater than all of yorubaland maybe, just maybe that's why they kowtow to him(we have read the fulani-yoruba history and we know that yorubas ready adopt a superior fulani culture in their lands) but No single man can be greater than an adventourous and industrious Igbo people of 55million+. It is common sense.
Buhari should be one introspecting and cajoling the Igbos if he really wants to be President of all Nigeria and not an Odua-arewa republic. If a people do not want you to rule them, tbey can turn to an ordinary figurehead in their region. Yes as president you can fill their region with soldiers armed to the teeth to intimidate them but for how long? In democracy politics is local. Power resides with THE PEOPLE ultimately not with ONE MAN in a cozy aso rock.
Buhari needs Igbos more than the individualistic Igbos need him. STFU. Buhari has no reason to woo an unnecessarily bitter and confused set of people. He stands to gain nothing from that. This election has just shown to the whole world how irrelevant you guys are to the concept of one Nigeria. You are the ones that need to come out of your bitterness, arrogance and stvpidy and join hands with others tribes to move the country forward else, you would have yourselves to blame. That is what people like Okorocha and others are trying to make you understand but bitterness and arrogance has beclouded your senses. |

OrlandoOwoh: How come Ohanaeze was among the first group, if not the first, to send a congratulatory message to Buhari? Talk of a confused set of palm wine drinkers. Who cares about their regrets. They don't regret not supporting Buhari but were among the first to congratulate him, they have even started making silly demands from the same person they refused to support. Silly set of people. |
