I came across an interview a female pastor had with a newspaper and she was talking about the importance of sex in a marriage. She said " A couple should have sex at least once a week the problem why some wives do not want to have sex with their husbands is because they are not well taken care of and the wives are worried about everyday things and can't concentrate on the act. Husbands should provide for their wives so that their wives can give themselves completely to them. In my case my husband provides every thing I need so I make sure that I am available for him at anytime.' My thinking is that sex between a couple should be unconditional submission to each other. It should not be predicated on a husband providing for the wife this is without prejudice to a husband's natural inclination to provide for his wife. Come to think of it if u provide well for an 'ashi' she would service you very well. What do u think? |
@acidosis. BB producers have clearly stayed that the housemates are on their own. Their actions does not represent their family society or country. The show is for entertainment and people watching and also housemates are adults. Please don't take panadol for somebody's headache. Beverley and the guy would sort out themselves later. The same country that produced a Bev also produced winners of prizes in Literature, putstanding sportsmen etc |
@zoladpower. Innocent or not a person is not supposed to go to the police cell unclad. Are u insinuating that if a female suspect should be locked up in her birthday suit? Haba! ! |
@temptee. I agree with you. The sanction would appear to be harsh relative to the offence. |
@ Okija juju. They were decamped not because they drank alcohol but because they were drunk. They were probably disturbing public peace. |
@Rooneyboy. Many thanks for your comment on the 'murder' of English by the op. However you should 'advise him' and not 'advice him' . You may wish to join him in the English tutorial. Cheers. |
@sarutobie. My point is that the act is abnormal (to me) but not criminal. I gave the example of per marital sex which is wrong from the christian perspective but won't land one in jail in a secular state (provided done by 2 consenting adults). There are many acts that have severe sanctions according to the bible but they are not applied in a secular state. Come to think of it the countries that have allowed gay rights, has that increased the crime rate, made them poorer or had other negative effects. Let us respect the rights of the minorities abd vulnerable - gays, children, disabled, elderly. LET GAYS BE. |
It is a fallacy for people to assume that all supporters of gay marriage are gay themselves. Much as I do not support the way the concept of gay relationship is introduced in the western world ( with virtusl carjolling prople to try it as part of expressing their sexuality)I find the position of most Nigerians rather hypocritical. The sanction for gay relationship appears to be killing an ant with a hammer. The major issue with the defence of gay relationship is fundamental human rights. The bible condemns per marital sex but you don't jail people who indulge in it. There is a moral imperative in not engaging in per marital sex but there is no legal sanction for it (especially if it is done safely by consenting adults). Nigeria however has a long way to go in protecting the rights of vulnerable people - children, disabled aged poor etc so the issue of freedom is alien to us. The government/religious leaders should face fundamental problems facing the country instead of focusing on people's personal choices. If there was a choice between the western world treatment and nigeria's, I will prefer the former. By the way the act itself seems abnormal to me and I can never engage in it. I also pray the people connected to me do not BUT we should pray for and counsel people involved and not make it a criminal act especially as nigeria is a secular state. Let gays be. |
My observation is the fact that a staff of ukba is behind prosecuted by the system and the friend/colleague is acting ad a prosecution witness - saying the truth they know. A credit to the criminal justice system. If in nigeris the colleague would be reluctant to testify and would probably tell lies to "help". There are a few lessons to be learnt. |
Sky tv did not record the scene. It was part of the program UK BOrder Force which features happenings at the UK entry points, airports, seaports and land borders. A number of other countries have a similar program - US, AUsralia, New Zealand, Canada. I wonder if we have afford to have such a program featuring Naija officials at work. |
