[quote author=DrTee1 post=133846468]Only fate prevented him from becoming Nigeria's President after the demise of Abacha. Abacha was known to be terminally ill before he did, at least by the top hierarchy, and Jeremiah was the next highest ranking military officer after Diya, who was already on death row, pending Abacha's signature. Bamaiyi raised the suspicion at the Provisional Ruling Council Officer's meeting following Abacha's death that Useni was indeed the last person who was with Abacha before he died that morning. Others present agreed. The next person in line, after Useni was the Chief of Defence Staff: Major General Abdulsalami Abubakar who was not particularly in Abacha's good books, and was rumoured to be pencilled for retirement at about the time the Abacha transition to civilian rule was also heating up - just when Abacha died. Politically he was next to Abacha but in Military terms Abdulsalam as CDS was next to Abacha |
The major factor for the previous loss was finance cost especially of the foreign loans following the devaluation of the Naira. What the new investors did was a “re measurement of the foreign loans following” leading to significant finance income (see the report above). This is without prejudice to the other increased performance indicators - turnover etc |

ObalendeCMS:What type of male chauvinist statement is this. Was the girl driving. What is wrong in a lady undergraduate going to a night party. We all did it at Uni. The fault lies with the driver (probably a male) for reckless driving. There is nothing wrong with undergraduates partying. It is part of the Uni experience. A beg stop this hate |
Obviouslyblunt:Ova, I beg to disagree. Such pictures cannot be posted in public space in the UK. Do you also notice that their lying in state does not include showing the corpse but just the casket |

Ikaeniyan0:Because the UK voted Brexit and he campaigned as a “Remainer” |
The appointment, today, of former PM (equivalent to our President) appointed Foreign Secretary (equivalent to our External Affairs Minister) shows a country where politics is regarded as service. In Nigeria it will probably be regarded as demotion and is unlikely to happen. Until the stop people becoming bigger than Office they occupy our politics will not give us the optimum benefit, |
Akwamkpuruamu:All appointments in the Presidency are for the President. Some would be deployed to the Office of the Vice President so their designation will be “Special Adviser to the President (Office of the Vice President)” |

[quote author=Eriokanmi post=124378304]Hope they didn't say, awa lokan and voted along that line before they left the country. Now I'm beginning to really learn of leadership. Leadership is divinely orchestrated. You don't struggle for it else, you'd mess things up. Of all the leaders known in this country, only tinubu grabbed power by hook and crook. Even when Buhari was so desperate, he never got it until he willingly surrendered and left the space. From 1960 to date, none who ruled Nigeria got to power desperately and the history has shown and I'd start from the most recent cos of some indomie generation here. Buhari was called to lead Nigeria after the successful coup in which he never participated. Babangida, same. It was obj who said those who participated in the coup should consider IBB for the position. This is a fact not known to many, till now. Just a few clarifications: - Abdusalami was the most senior military officer when he became Head of State - Abacha plotted to be HOS. That was why the clause ‘in the event of resignation of the Head of Interim government, - Babagibda was involved in all coups till 1986 |

Mr A told his friend, Mr B that he has a separate bedroom from his his wife even though he has a 3 bedroom house. Mr B replied that his house has 4 bedrooms but shares a bedroom with his wife. He wondered how convenient the arrangement is for Mr A wondering how to navigate doing the show. Mr A said it was easy: If he feels like he knocks his wife bedroom door 3 times and the wife comes over. Mr B now asked what happens if it is the wife that wants to do, Mr A said it was also very easy. His wife comes to the bedroom and ask the question 'Did you knock my door 3 times just now?' and he catches the drift. |

I saw his post on a whatshap forum last week and sent it to a friend who has been a teacher in the UK including the town under reference (Luton) for over ten years. The first thing he said is that the mode of enforcement of discipline for students in the Uk is completely different from Africa so any african in the UK will regards the discipline as lax. The treatment of children and young people is also different, An example he said is that corporal punishment (flogging) in african schools is basically abuse (child abuse) which africans (including some children) regard as right. Apart from that Luton town schools generally are regarded as below average in terms of behaviour in the UK. A town close by - Harpenden - has 3 schools which are state schools where their behaviour is exemplary. In any school, especially the poorly behaved ones the critical issue is their behaviour management policy so if children are disruptive - throwing chairs making unnecessary noise etc they are warned and after 3 warnings are taken out of the class so others can learn. In each class there are a minority of students who are regularly disruptive and they can be sanctioned if persistent - from staying behind after school for 1 hour (detention) to exclusion for a few days to permanent exclusion. It should also be noted that the attitude to teachers posted to schools temporarily (Supply Teacher) is different from a permanent teacher as students are more disruptive if the teacher is Supply. The narration appear as an exaggeration both from the behaviour of students (calling a teacher idiot and the racist language) and the authorities (the school will not condone such behaviour); Like in the outside society you cannot touch anybody without permission so the sanctions approved is detention (staying behind during break, lunch or after school depending on the severity of the offence, The poorly behaved students are a minority and the key issue is how the school authorities manages them |
The telegraph of London has reported that the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson plans to run for Office again (he has to resign on Tuesday 6th september) but only after he has made money in the private sector. Are african (nay Nigerian) politicians watching how politics should be played. Since there is no money to be made as PM he would make his money outside. hopefully we would get here on day https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknews/boris-johnson-likely-to-run-for-pm-again-after-building-up-bank-balance/ar-AA11nYCw?ocid=msedgntp&cvid=9681565e5b5c42a892d19a9e3ddb24d0 |
