Fulaman198: Make no mistake, every ethnic group is insulted on Nairaland it's not just Igbos. Let's not be blinded into thinking it's just our own specific ethnic group. Do you know how many Fulani insults I see on here everyday? Yah thought so. I will give you simple experiment Gibto nairaland search ...type igbo Then later type other tribes Compare the results |

Loisemm: Lolz. I am from Akwa ibom and I am proudly married to a Yoruba man. We are going on strong and honestly I am very glad I married Him ( I still told Him this morning). I think it depends on the individual. Is he or she someone you can love or already love? Is he or shr faithful, kind, intelligent, Godly, hard working? Does your family accept him/her and vice versa? We made sure we had our families consent and He was my kind of 'ideal' man ( he had 90% of all the qualities I wanted/ listed in my list- yes, I had a list and the tribe he comes from was not in my list. lolz). So there u go. Like my Hubby will say when I ask him where say a particular Green eagles footballer comes from. He will reply- He is a Nigerian! lolz. We are Nigerians first before Yoruba, Igbo or Hausa etc. The only tribe I could not marry from personally is Hausa cos of the diff in religion. Though if he were a great hausa christian, I MAY not hv minded. Nice ..but as a man stop cheapening yourself by telling the man how you are glad he married you..that statement has a way of puncturing your worth as a woman A man should be head over heals on a woman not the other way round Don't make the dude look at you that he did you a favour Take this from a married man But keep appreciating him but don't diminish your value mbok |

Masterclass32: You're so on point like point and kill. Na your side I dey for this matter.
Its preferable for people to marry their kind - and we can still achieve one Nigeria(before someone tells me that inter-tribal relationships promote unity). Inter tribal marriages doesn't promote any unity....that's a fact One thing I hate about inter tribal marriages is that it tends to makes the offsprings of these union confused If you ask a child from an igbo father and Yoruba mother where are you from..the response you get I's this ...my father is igbo and my mother Yoruba The child forgets that automatically you are from the place your father is Secondly there seems to be intimidation ..like when you marry an igbo woman ..by default you will likely be on the side of your mum ... Look at yemi alade..she is a Yoruba with igbo mum but from her doings and her kind of music even association she is tilting and tilts towards igbo...don't be surprised if she marries an igbo man But if you find love in anytribe go for it...one thing about marriage is that love is not enough ...there are greater things than love such as compatibility et al So that had I known won't come at last But women when you are getting older and with bad history if marrying from another tribe will help the situation I support it |

WhoRUDeceiving: Well said, most of Buhari's appointments should not be a surprise. Do you hear that some people from Kachikwu's area are saying that they are not Igbo, and came from Bini or Yoruba or the Moon, or that Okowa doesn't belong to "Biafra"? Do you know that Okorocha and Amaechi spent public funds to campaign for those that staged coups and could not pay salaries or complete projects in their state?
Did you see the folks in Abia state dancing because the SC upheld a party that raped the state for 16 years as "victor" so that the rape can continue?
And for the Southwest, what where they afraid of another term for an Ijaw man as President, when OBJ did not do much in 8 years time. Among things, the completion of an International airport in Enugu and seaport in Akwa Ibom and the financial implications that holds. And I don do them for eyes like film Where is ugomba and that boy hopeathand |

But let's face the thread ...you don't blame those that see African American that way ..have you been to Bronx, Compton and Brooklyn.. These are black neighborhood and one thing I have noticed about the blacks in USA is that the African American is more of a violent and low thinking individual
They have become complacent in the socialist and walfarist America that you see the high crime and disunited family life ..it is not them all but it is not all.
The Nigerians came to USA for greener pastures and American dream and they understand where they are coming from and they have a focus bit the African American is content with sagging ,doing drugs and raps so they forget intellectual puruit apart from music and basketball ...even with the whole money they make in basketball they blow it
The evidences are clear
They should stop blaming it on slavery ...at least Nigerians have proved that blacks are not low intellectually from Philip emeagwali to chinua Achebe to others making their mark in sciences
So I think that what we see in America about the niggers as they call themselves are real
Have you seen the movie MENACE 2 SOCIETY....that's a good American black neighborhood |

klimson: Anyway, l understand Igbos to be very resilient people, who could survive alike, in the good, bad and the ugly Nigeria. But other ethnic groups are also doing their bests, dreaming for a better Nigeria. Just that there has not been this concerted agreement, over what should be focused upon, aside the petty politics of calumny and suspicion we play. The greater Nigeria will emerge if the Yoruba man, the Igbo man, the Hausa/Fulani man and others are helped to explore and develop themselves by themselves in a loose federation. Igbos have genuine issues to complain a times about marginalization, for instance, I don't know why river Niger can't be dredged to support the import dependent enterprise of the Ndigbo. Same with Calabar port and other infrastructure like international airport. But Igbos should not forget that they are just one of the major ethnic groups, and as such, have limited things Nigeria can give them, in relation with what others receive. They are to be patient and learn to forget the past, especially the war, which was rather unfortunate. I think all Nigerians should be wailing wailers now because the situation at hand really deserves collective voice, irrespective of tongues and ethnic divide. Lets all get up and wiyh one voice demand true ferderalism. But it begins first with re-structuring Nigeria to pave way for better things to come. klimson: Instead of bickering about over non-issues here as often seen, this statistical analysis provides an important issue to all of us: THE YOUNGER GENERATION SHOULD UNEQUIVOCALLY DEMAND FOR TRUE FEDERALISM OR REGIONALISM as the case may be. That is the only way to push this country out of this mess, cut down on ethnic suspicions and promote the best in every zone. This is what we should be asking for, not APC or PDP. The north will always be behind, if they think that being president is all there is to life. They better face it, their religion contributes up to 60% of their present ordeal. But they will never admit it. If they like, let them pump all the money in the world into their institution, they don't have an open system to embrace education. And thats why they don't want true federalism. But it would rather benefit than harm them. The greatest enemy of this country is the norther oligarchy, who don't want improved lifestyle for its people, but hide under the guise of the need to carry the north along for even development to take this country centuries backward. Why people are not speaking out is what I don't know. But igbo spike out and are speaking out you termed them wailers Who where those that collaborated with the north here in south to put us here We know them but let posterity judge |

irynterri: that was several years ago..right now abia has the highest..and as for those of you complaining abt S.E schools I have met students from ogun state college of science and tech. to be precise who can't make a speak English for 10mins without adding Yoruba, and their spelling was nothing to write home about,u can barely see an average ogun kid conversing fluently in english.I have equally met such cases in the east, eket and the north will be the worst.in my uni, those of us who schooled in lag are no match to students from fggc owerri, fgc okigwe, onitsha and government colledge owerri, most best graduating students are always alumni of those schools.I think environment and exposure has a lot to do in a child's development, parents too should help their wards, students dis days don't read books like things fall apart e.t.c they are more bothered with Facebook, sports betting, nairaland and girls So you know those schools you mentioned what about ckc Those are top notch schools in east then what about science school etiti and also those superb Catholic schools like St Peters , Marist brothers et al Nice schools |

sapiosexual1: You totally misinterpreted me, OK let me break it down. Look at the telecoms growth in Nigeria, when it first came to us, we recorded astronomical growth for about 10years, in which we became the fastest growing telecoms hub in the world, that was our upward slope. At that time, it didn't mean we were better off than western countries but we simply had a faster growth and telecoms appreciation. Today the growth has slowed and we are gradually approaching our plateau, not becd buying phones or SIMs but because the proportionate growth is evening out. Our teledensity is still quite low for a country of our population, but we have made significant progress. When people talk in public I wonder Who told you that our teledensity is low ...a country that you have 1:3 ratio And you call that low...what stats are you using to buttress your point Define teledensity for us ..for a starter |
