Culled from Ipob

IGBO, HAUSA, YORUBA are different people with different Language, Religion, blood, mentality, culture, food and life-style. We were never one until one British harlot forced us in one cage and gave it the name ZOO (Nigeria). Since then, The TIGER, the GOAT and the SHEEP in the cage are fighting each other and will keep on the fight until freedom is achieved. NOTE; You can't put the Tiger, the Goat and the sheep together and expect them to live peacefully, is either you are gambling with their lives or with their resources.... The TIGER want to be free from the zoo, give him freedom NOW.

So in the Zoo(Nigeria), the Tiger(Igbo) is running away from the Goat(Hausa) and the Sheep(Yoruba) ..This is an insult to wildlife..What an analogy..What will make a TIGER run from domestic animals is what i need Igbos and Biafran activists alike to explain to me..There is more to this than what a rational mind can ponder.

Car TalkExplained: The Pros And Cons Of Different Engine Types by tonychristopher(op): 3:51pm On Nov 25, 2015
The most common engine types - the four-cylinder, the boxer-four, straight-six, V6 and V8 - have their own pros and cons. Here's everything you need to know in one handy guide...
BMW - Engineering Explained: The Pros And Cons Of Different Engine Types - Blog

What makes more power, a 4.0-litre V6 engine or a 4.0-litre V8? The answer isn’t so simple. When discussing various engines, the layout isn’t the biggest contributing factor to how much power it makes. With a bit of ingenuity (and you know, cash), a four cylinder engine can make just as much power as a V12. So what makes manufacturers choose different engine layouts? Here are the advantages and disadvantages of each layout.
1. Four-cylinder inline four
BMW - Engineering Explained: The Pros And Cons Of Different Engine Types - Blog

Let’s start with one of the most common engines, the inline four cylinder. There’s a reason it’s common, largely because it’s so simple: one cylinder bank, one cylinder head and one valve train. Here’s all you need to know:

Advantages:

The four-cylinder, inline four is small and compact, meaning it easily fits in nearly any engine bay.
It’s also lightweight, and with only one exhaust manifold, weight is further reduced.
With only one cylinder head, there are fewer moving parts than engines with multiple cylinder banks. This means less energy is lost which reduces the probability of malfunctions.
Primary forces are balanced because the outside two pistons move in the opposite direction of the inside two pistons (see picture above).
Four-cylinder engines are easy to work on; the cylinder head is the highest point which makes spark plug jobs and valve train access very easy.
Four-cylinder engines require lower manufacturing costs.

Disadvantages:

Secondary forces are not balanced, which ultimately limits the size of the engine.
Inline fours will rarely exceed 2.5 litres to 3.0 litres.
Larger four cylinder engines will often require balancing shafts to cancel the vibration caused by the secondary imbalance.
High centre of gravity compared to some layouts (H4).
Not as rigid as some layouts (V6, V8).

Here’s a quick video explanation of the four-cylinder engine:
2. Horizontally-opposed
BMW - Engineering Explained: The Pros And Cons Of Different Engine Types - Blog

From a performance standpoint, there aren’t many options as attractive as an engine with horizontally-opposed cylinders. The boxer four isn’t nearly as common as the other engines on this list, but from an engineering standpoint it’s a logical choice for your race car.

Advantages:

Primary and secondary forces are well balanced. This is a smooth engine.
This allows for less weight on the crankshaft, resulting in less power lost to rotational inertia.
Low centre of gravity allows for better handling.

Disadvantages:

Packaging size: these are very wide engines.
Flat engines were once used in Formula 1 for their performance advantages, but due to their width they obstructed airflow and are no longer used.
Complexity - two cylinder heads/valve trains.
Rocking couple (plane imbalances) due to offset pistons to allow for the connecting rods to connect with the crankshaft.
Maintenance can be challenging if packaging is tight.

3. Straight-six
BMW - Engineering Explained: The Pros And Cons Of Different Engine Types - Blog

An engineer’s object of affection, the straight-six is the result of tacking on two more cylinders to an inline four engine. BMW loves them, and it’s the layout of one of the most well-known boost-ready engines, the 2JZ. So what’s so special about the straight-six?

Advantages:

The straight-six is Inherently balanced.
The layout combined with its firing order leads to essentially the smoothest engine out there.
V12s and Flat-12s are the next step in further reducing vibration, as they are two I6s matched together.
Lower manufacturing cost - single cylinder block with all the cylinders in one orientation.
Simple design, easy to work on much like the I4.

Disadvantages:

Packaging can be difficult due to the length.
Not ideal for FWD vehicles.
High center of gravity (vs flat engines).
Lower rigidity than V engines as it’s long and narrow.

Here’s a quick video explanation of the straight-six:
4. V6
BMW - Engineering Explained: The Pros And Cons Of Different Engine Types - Blog

Now cut that straight-six in half and match the two cylinder banks to a common crank. The V6 is a common layout when there are six spark plugs involved. It’s also the current layout for Formula 1 engines. Why use it?

Advantages:

They’re compact and can easily be used for both FWD and RWD vehicles.
Allows for greater displacement than four-cylinder engines, typically meaning more power.
Rigid design.
Formula 1 chose to use V6s rather than I4s for the 2014 season because they wanted to use the engine as a stressed member of the car.

Disadvantages:

Two cylinder heads means added cost, complexity, and weight.
Additional rotational inertia and friction (more moving parts).
High centre of gravity vs flat engines.
Cost is often greater than inline.
Secondary imbalance requires additional weight on the crankshaft.
Two exhaust manifolds means additional weight.

5. V8
BMW - Engineering Explained: The Pros And Cons Of Different Engine Types - Blog

When you add a cylinder to each bank of the V6, you get an icon in both American muscle and European exotics - the V8. It can produce a refined whine, or a shuddering burble. So what makes this layout such a popular choice?

Advantages:

Packaging size (short in length).
Good balance, depending on the crankshaft type and firing order (flatplane vs crossplane).
Rigid design.
Allows for high displacement.

Disadvantages:

Like a V6, the V8 engine’s weight can be high.
Additional rotational inertia and friction (more moving parts).
Cost and complexity will be higher.
Higher centre of gravity vs flat engines.
Engine weight is usually increased.
Packaging is large, typically restricted to RWD/AWD vehicles.

Let us know below which engine type you are currently running and what you like and loathe about it.

Car TalkReasons Why That Range Rover Is Worth That Money ! by tonychristopher(op): 12:23pm On Nov 25, 2015
ble SUV risky? Absolutely. I mean, who else does it? Jeep? Actually, yes, Jeep has the Wrangler, but that's an iconic car, nobody's going to ever raise an eyebrow in its direction. Besides, it costs almost half the price of the Evoque Convertible and that's not an easy thing to ignore.

But here's the thing. The Evoque is a very, very special car - not just for Land Rover, but for the entire industry. The British pretty much revolutionized the premium compact segment with this thing in terms of how modern, and perhaps even futuristic, an SUV could look.

Besides, the Wrangler and the Evoque couldn't be more different. One's a rugged, retro-looking off-road machine, while the other is a stylish, ultra-modern, premium crossover that some might call an SUV. However, both models can offer their customers a little bit of "best of both worlds" action, which for some people can be priceless, especially when they've already been drawn in by the Evoque's design.

So let's run through a few of the reasons why the Range Rover Evoque Convertible is worth your money.

#1 Everybody will stop and stare at you

As with all new cars, the convertible version of the Evoque will draw a lot of attention to itself. It has the same design as the 5-door or the Coupe, but something just makes it completely different. Now what could that be? Ah yes, it's the fact that you can take the roof off at the push of a button!

Not only will this car draw attention to itself, but it will also put you, the owner, in the spotlight. People will want to know who's behind the wheel, who had the inspiration to purchase such a car at a price that might suggest you care a lot more about style than you do about practicality. Yet that's not a bad thing necessarily. Some might even get this car as their secondary ride or simply get it as a gift for a loved one because it will always send a very strong statement. In fact, a rather unique statement.

#2 Perfect for those looking to trade up from a Mini Cabrio

You know that cool group of friends who get in their Mini Cabrio and just take off to spend a couple of days at the beach? If any of them (the one who does the driving anyway) decided that enough is enough as far as taking long journeys in a small car is concerned, the new Ranger Rover Evoque Convertible would literally be the perfect car for them.

The reason for that is because the Evoque is already the 'Mini' of its segment, as far as style and social status is concerned. You buy it because you want it, not because you need it, and you know that it will make you look good wherever you go.

Besides, it might just take a couple of years off your ID, since it's generally thought of as being a Gen-Y car.

#3 Better visibility than in the regular model

If you've ever driven the Evoque, you probably realize that it doesn't exactly offer the best visibility. Don't get me wrong, it never gets to the point where you just want to take it back to the dealership and set it on fire, but if you're stuck in some irregular bumper to bumper traffic and you're in constant need of changing lanes, everyone else is struggling to do the same, it's dark and it's raining...well, it can get a little stressful inside, even for experienced drivers.

You end up relying a lot on the car's rear-view camera, even when on the move, though some countries are a lot more organized than others as far as what's acceptable to do in traffic and what isn't. So that scenario above only qualifies if you live in a place where people constantly cut you off, hardly ever let you merge, use the tram tracks as another lane and so on.

Also, I just realized that everything I just said doesn't apply anymore if it's raining outside because you can't drive around with the top down anyway, so let's just scribble out the rain part shall we? Thanks.

#4 It may just be the coolest SUV in the world

It's important to point out that the Evoque Convertible is the only premium SUV in the world which you can take to any type of destination (mountains, beach) and it will be equally at home and equally useful to you regardless of where you are.

You can't exactly drop the top off your BMW X3 while cruising in the sun, can you? Can't take a short drive towards that awesome skiing resort with the top down in a Mercedes GLC either, right? And when you're done with all that, you can park it in front of any luxury restaurant, country club or night club and nobody's going to scoff at it.

Bottom line, there's just no substituting the Evoque Convertible with anything. And you can't say Wrangler because that's not a premium product and it doesn't make this type of stylish statement. So what you end up with is a one of a kind type of car, and that's going to mean the world to its future owners.

Car TalkFew Things To Do When Your Car Overheat In Traffic by tonychristopher(op): 9:58am On Nov 25, 2015
Cars overheat most often in very hot weather. We are in a hot humid place and this harnattan wont laygh

It’s rare with modern vehicles, but even a well-tuned automobile can overheat. If you find yourself in stop-and-go traffic or climbing a steep grade on an extremely hot day, and your dashboard temperature indicator starts to rise or a malfunction indicator light comes on, here’s how to help your vehicle regain its cool:

At the first sign of overheating, shut off your air conditioner and open your windows: Doing so decreases the load on the engine and helps it cool off.

If you continue to overheat, turn on the heater and blower: Doing so transfers the heat from the engine to the passenger compartment of the vehicle. (This does wonders for your overheated engine but very little for you!)

If you’re stopped in traffic and the temperature gauge is rising, shift into Neutral or Park and rev the engine a little: Doing so makes the water pump and the fan speed up, which draws more liquid and air through the radiator. The increased air and liquid circulation helps cool things off.

Try not to ride your brakes: In stop-and-go traffic, crawl along slowly, on little more than an idle, rather than moving up and then braking repeatedly. Brake drag increases the load on the engine and makes it heat up. If traffic is crawling, move up only when the gap between you and the vehicle in front of you gets too large.

If you think that your vehicle is about to boil over, drive to the right-hand side of the road, open the hood, and sit there until things cool off. Remember, don’t open the radiator cap under these circumstances, and if your engine has boiled over, don’t add water until the engine is quite cool again.

If you must add water when the engine is still a little warm, add the water slowly while the engine is running in Neutral or Park.

Although hot weather is the most common cause of overheating, many other factors can cause the same problem. If your vehicle overheats in traffic in normal weather, one of the following may be the culprit:

The water and coolant level in the radiator is low.

There’s a leak in the cooling system.

If you can’t locate any leaks, your thermostat may be malfunctioning. Obviously, you can’t replace the thermostat at the side of the road. In the meantime, if you can park and get to the thermostat safely, you can eliminate this malfunction as a possibility. Wait until the engine cools down completely, and remove the old thermostat and reconnect the hoses without it. If the engine starts up and runs well without the thermostat, the old one was probably screwing up the works.

Get a new thermostat immediately if you find that your old one isn’t working. Driving for long distances without a thermostat can damage your engine.

Some other school of thought also believe in tropicalization of cars if you are in hot and humid places like Africa .

This might cause rich burning if there is anything like this but at least rest of mind is gguaranteed. If you can't tropicalise the engine please get a new thermo

The choice is all yours and the weather is all getting hotter

You've been making sense since but decided to ruin it all with the bolded.

So you are among the fools who believe Lagos was developed by the ibos. Have you read the history of lagos? Lagos was a commercial city before it became FCT. The part that was FCT was just VI, lagos island and yaba/surulere. The rest of today's lagos was under Awolowo's Western region which he developed. He built majority of those industrial estates in ikeja. Lateef jakande built majority of the housing estates you see in lagos. I wonder how the ibos managed to develop lagos. Were they the ones that built all the roads, bridges and flyovers? Did they build the markets they rent today? All the housing estates and major developments achieved by Fashola, were they the works of ibos? The schools, hospitals, companies, eko atlantic, lekki airport, lekki seaport etc were they built by the ibos? If the ibos built lagos and abuja, how come they've not been able to replicate such in alaigbo? Tell yourselves the truth.

Pls, just admit that your people failed their region.

Another downside to this negative attitude is that it's quite possible that a xenophobe not willing to see Ndigbo progress faster than his own ethnic group will put policies in place or engage in underhand covert activities to hold those Igbo- owned businesses back so he can prop up the ones from his own region till they manage to catch up!

Yet another negative to this 'ignore-everyone-else-and-look-inwards' attitude is that resources that otherwise could be used to develop Alaigbo now has to shared with the very wicked people that hate our guts; leaving us a miserly 13% to play with! And this is when they've not conspired to slice off resource-rich parts of Alaigbo with surgical precision to place in neighbouring states and managed by non-Igbos, while they work on getting those Igbo they've cut adrift to deny their roots and ethnicity!

Those Igbo state govt's further have their hands tied by policies and the constitution which forbids them from taking control of their own destiny.....esp' with regard to mineral exploitation; aviation; highways; sea and river port investments; policing; etc! It's done this way so no region/zone in the country would have a runaway economic success and thus show up another region/zone for the deadweight it actually is! Not to also mention the fact that with the status-quo the way it presently is, a few govt enabled billionaires and oligarchs can maintain a firm grasp on the resources of others!
I keep on saying it Nigeria sucks and can't or won't develop

U made a very valid point

Do mind me sending you nkwu enu?

I ask you to stay on your own while i stay on mine, that means i am stepping on your toes? The blackman really has a big problem.

The solution is simple. A referendum just like the scottish did, unfortunately the blackman loves complicating simple things.
That's the problem I have with blacks ..we don't reason

What is big ..Igbo said they are done

Is that complicated ....

bros for peace and tranquillity, every party in this melee must be pacified and a middle ground sought. To secced or create nation now or implement true federalism in Nigeria without preparation will render many states even in the SE uneconomically viable. So this development also affects the SE and not just the north
Explain your economic viability ..maybe this Dutch disease has affected all of you
I doubt you know the meaning of Dutch disease

My brother, there is no need to assume. The SS have said NO to SE+SS seccession. We sympathise with you and it is my desire that the dream of every Igboman/woman is actualise but we don't subscribe to SS+SE Biafra. I think you should discuss within the context by not discarding the realities on ground.

How? By saying that we should build stronger ties with the people of the man who was the last president of Biafra?
To me it is pointless

I feel the feeling should be mutual
