Developing:
Heavy shooting is reported to have been recorded in Omuma Local Government Area of Rivers State at the supposed venue of the campaign rally of the All Progressives Congress in the state.

The Shooting which is alleged to have started at about some minutes pass the hours of 6am lasted for over twenty minutes without any interference from the security agencies.
The hoodlums who carried out the shooting are reported to have been on camouflage with five Hilux vans with gas bottles invaded APC campaign venue in Omuma and destroyed the canopies, and generating set.

These men can’t go scot free.
I was on my way from Akure to Benin where I enter park to go back to school. Along Owo road, 15-20 mins into Benin, this officers stopped me asked what was in my bag and I told them my my clothes.
They searched my bags and found nothing they said I was a yahoo boy.
So to clear the air I gave them my phone, they searched and found nothing.
Before I could say anything the driver that took me brought my load outside dropped it in the police van and zoomed off in the middle of nowhere with four armed police.
They took me and my friend inside bush after I had showed them my ID card as student and even my kofa page they told me if I don’t cooperate they would kill me inside this bush and dump my dead body.
I was so so scared for my life they hit me with gun on my head slapped me and all.
They took 30,000 they saw in my account.
Immediately they brought us out of bush as we agreed to cooperate they brought us to a POS stand they took us there transferred all my money .
I and my friend were left stranded we had to beg to go back to school I was so scared of my life.
This country has failed me as a student."

Miss Chisom Ezeonyiwara who was last seen at Eneka road Rukpoku in Rivers State by past 6pm on the 18th of January, 2023 have been found and reunited with her family.

Fuel price hits N500/litre in Port Harcourt

Fuel is now being sold between N500 and N550 per litre in most filling stations across Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

The situation has led to a hike in transport fare within the city.

Reacting on the development, the Chairman of Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, attributed the hike in fuel price on the landing cost of PMS in the country.

Chairman of IPMAN in Rivers State, Dr Joseph Obele, said the landing cost of PMS was currently over N500 per litre and it was unsustainable for the government to keep subsidizing the product for Nigerians at N165 per litre.

Obele, however, expressed optimism that the Port Harcourt refinery which is under rehabilitation will come on stream in the first quarter of this year to ameliorate the situation. “There is no uniform buying source for us marketers. Some of us (markerters)’are buying from Lagos, and depot price ranges from 280 to 310 per litre. The only depot that was selling in Rivers State has ran out of stock, it’s quite unfortunate that Nigerians are made to experience this.
