We can win Ekiti election without Fayose ~ Bisi Kolowole

The flagbearer of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State Hon Bisi Kolowole have reacted to the withdrawal of his campaign vehicles and the removal of his campaign banners from Fayose's office.

Hon Kolawole said he respects Fayose and will not want to join issues with him as Fayose is his benefactor, but he expressed disappointment in the action credited to Dr Ayo Fayose. He said what led to the removal of his campaign banners was not his fault as he was not the one who rejected the nomination of Fayose's choice for the Deputy Governorship slot but Ekiti PDP stakeholders.

Speaking further, Hon Kolawole said he has made frantic efforts to reach Mr Fayose since the ugly incidence to no avail, he said he is sure that through the help of God and the support of the people, he can win the June 18 Governorship election with or without the support of Dr Ayo Fayose.

He is not dull, he understands the fact that normally APC and PDP will pick their candidate from the south, so instead of wasting his time, money and resources like Atiku, he decided to move to a party where he will be able to contest without wasting money on getting the ticket.

A Chieftain of the People's Democratic Party in Ekiti State, Chief Ojo Oladapo has said that the reason why former Governor Ayo Fayose did not support the candidature of Chief Segun Oni was because Fayose wanted his woman friend, Mrs Funmilayo Ogun as Deputy Governor. Both Segun Oni and Funmilayo Ogun are from the same Local Government area, as such it will be impossible for Funmilayo Ogun to be deputy Governor if Segun Oni emerge as the flagbearer of PDP.

Fayose himself had admitted on many occasions before the primary election that Segun Oni would have been the best candidate, but he insisted that he won't allow him to come and hijack the party structure.

Reacting to the recent development of the withdrawal of campaign vehicles and removal of Bisi-K campaign banners from Fayose's campaign office, Chief Ojo said Fayose was not happy because his woman friend was rejected as the Deputy Governorship candidate of the party. He said the development showed that Fayose was not interested in the election but was only doing business with the party in the state.

Chief Ojo said before the election, Fayose might instruct his supporters to vote for the candidate of APC as Fayose has already traded the election with the Governor of Ekiti State, Dr John Kayode Fayemi.

Ekiti PDP Deputy Governorship Nominee rejects her Nomination

The Deputy Governorship Nominee of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State has rejected her nomination. In a letter written to the National Chairman of PDP Senator Iyorchia Ayu on Thursday 24th February, 2022, Mrs Fumilayo Ogun cited personal reasons for rejecting the nomination.

A Chieftain of the PDP who reacted to the development said how will Fayose nominate his woman friend as the running mate of Hon Bisi Kolawole. He said at the moment, PDP in Ekiti State is almost empty because of the imposition of Bisi Kolawole as the flagbearer of the party, to add salt to injury, Fayose went ahead to nominate his woman friend who cannot even deliver her ward to the PDP in the forthcoming election.
A close aid of Mrs Fumilayo Ogun said she was forced to reject the nomination as her nomination did not enjoy the support of the people.

Recall that Chief Segun Oni have joined the Social Democratic Party (SDP) to actualize his ambition.

As the Governorship election in Ekiti State draws near, the people of Ekiti State are left with options to make that will shape the future of the State.

Since the creation of the State and the return of democracy in 1999, the State have been ruled by two major political parties, AD/APC and PDP. One thing that should be noted is that none of the political parties have ruled the state for two consecutive times.

Speaking on behalf of Youths for Credible Alternative,the YCA Director of Strategy and Planning, Mr Adeniyi Olausi (Ayisco) said one major thing that will shape the June 18th Governorship election in Ekiti State is the fact that Ekiti people will vote for personality and not political party. He said the people of Ekiti State are Educated and enlightened and they know what they want.

Speaking further, Mr Adeniyi said one thing that he respect Ekiti people for is the fact that they always want the best for the state and will not hesitate to go extra miles to get the best.

He stated further that in voting for a candidate in the forthcoming election, a lot of things will be put into consideration. Candidates across political parties will have to tell the people of Ekiti State what they want to do to add value to the state.
