I had this conversation once:
Oyibo man: where are you from
Toshmann: Ohio. And you?
Oyibo man: I'm from Montana, but where are you from originally?
Toshmann: I was born in Nigeria, and where are you from originally?
Oyibo man: so you are nigerian. I was born in Colorado.
Toshmann: no, where are you from originally?
Oyibo man: Colorado
Toshmann: no no no, Colorado originally belongs to the native Americans, where did your ancestors come from?
Oyibo man: o, ok, my maternal grandfather is from portugal while my paternal grandparents are from Bulgaria.
Toshmann: ok, so you are BULGARIAN
Oyibo man: sort of( looking embarrased)
Toshmann: not sort of, that's what you really are( looking mischievous grin )

He has never called me foreigner again grin

And so Jesus pretended to be sexually interested Mary Magdalene before he came to her?

Which bible are you reading? Have you ever heard of "ABSTAIN from ALL APPEARANCE of evil" ? This is how you guys spin a lie into false truths. Five simple words from the heart will settle this matter-"I've sinned lord, forgive me"
Finish. Jesus will do the rest. All this excuses make the spirit weaker and further sink into sin due to lack of remorse.

FXKing2012: If he's indeed a pastor then I'm sure he was only trying to preach to the prostitutes as directed in the Bible. Remember many Americans are not true Christians so they may not believe in the idea of preaching to prostitutes; to them talking to a prostitute means you are soliciting sex.

Jesus preached to harlots and asked them to go and sin no more. We are to follow in His example.
People like you create the banner under which pastors hide to commit moral crimes.

There's no evidence this dude went to preach to a female sex worker. The "LovePeddler" trapped him into soliciting for sex. The police doesn't arrest potential LovePeddler clients until the client has discussed sex that's when the "LovePeddler" who's actually an undercover police officer brings out the handcuffs.

Stop these senseless excuses.

In Nigeria we have fraudulent pastors, here in America we have politicians masquarading as pastors. Where do we turn to?

This is pathetic

i hate hipocrisy angry

no disrespect, but this dude has been seen "inapproriately visiting the wife of one of his members" when the member was away. i dont want to give details in order not to be like i'm defaming someone. i live in southwest ohio, i've been to this church once. i know many nigerians that go there. one of them, a top church member is a confirmed fraudster. i repeat a CONFIRMED fraudster.

of course we serve a God of second chance, this dude will be forgiven by God and his wife, if not God woulda killed him by now, i hope he changes, but i am disappointed sad

this man's accent was superb. and he wasnt faking it. i've heard him on BBC speaking to some british people en-route america to register nigeria at the UN. did you guys notice how much respect the americans gave the nigerian delegation? even a joint session speech at congress.

this guy was confident, confortable in his skin, his clothes, his gait, his everything and wasnt trying hard to impress anyone yet he impressed everyone reasonable.
this guy appears more intelligent than 98% of the graduates of nigerian university today, including masters degree holders and majority of PhD holders. then we had a country. today the name Nigeria is toxic in the international community. . . . and PDP is not done yet.
Culture › Re: Origin Of Why Hausas Call Igbos Nyamiri by toshmann(m): 7:18pm On Jan 26, 2013
They may not need to travel 300miles. Could also be that the Hausa man in question came down to middle belt area to live or do business and had never met an Igbo before. And yes they weren't called igbos, so the Hausa didn't call him Igbo either. Simply called him nyamiri people.

Don't use 21st century mindset to view this. Back in the days people migrate 1000s of miles. Also when something strange is seen the news travel fast across the land. Like the first time whites came to igboland. People talked about the one or two people they saw to far away lands that have never even seen whites and never saw any for some years later.

We may never know but I believe it came from the words nyem Mmiri. And it wasn't 20th century

ezeagu: The end didn't come when the most powerful powers on earth fought a deadly battle that took millions in the 1930s and 40s. The end didn't come when atom bombs were being thrown around the globe like toys. The end didn't come when empires ravaged lands across the earth taking land and people with them. The end didn't come when the human population was almost wiped out at different points over the last 200,000 years. The end isn't coming because of poverty and bad governance. No. The end has come because Nigerian women are dancing in bras and panties.
They are not even dancing nude. May be I've been abroad too long, but where I am some ladies go to school with even less clothes on than those ladies dancing.

Anyway, I've seen the London carnival, I've seen Toronto carnival and they are HOT cheesy. My next target is Trinidad Carnival. I heard that is the capital of HoT chicks on earth wink
Culture › Re: Origin Of Why Hausas Call Igbos Nyamiri by toshmann(m): 4:08pm On Jan 26, 2013
Ezeagu centuries ago I'm not sure out people had GPS or knew the map. This Igbo dude must have been doing business with the benue-plateau people and prolly missed his way and hit the core north. He prolly thought it was the same people he usually meets who prolly understand him. But it was a different tribe.
I'm just trying out possible scenarios

But whatever it is, I don't think pidgin English had developed by 1800. Do you? And so I stick to why I was told, that the first Igbo man to hit the north asked for water and it was centuries ago and not during the civil war.
