Somethings I read this age and time make we wonder. People sound sophisticated but then come online to seek help on how to get their pictures back and how to recover email? In this age.
I have a Gmail account,I have a recovery email account,I have a recovery phone number,I have a back up recovery phone number.
Meaning if I forget my Gmail password,which is absolutely impossible, because I use the same password to log in to all Google services like YouTube,duo, Google drive, Google photos, Google chrome, Google map,play music etc. Which I use often or once a while.
Now let's assume I forgot my password,I will use my recovery email( another email account I registered with Google incase of any problem with my Gmail,all necessary communication are sent to it for me to use) to recover my password.
Now assuming I forgot that password too,which is absolutely impossible,I will use my recovery phone number to recover it. A code is sent to my phone which I will input where directed. Proving I own the account linked with the phone,after which I will be asked to input a new Gmail password. Finished.
You guys always forget your password because they are too much to keep. You have so many email accounts. You guys open email accounts discriminately,input stupid words as password which always make it hard to remember.

Things are not always the way you think. If you're into so many things it's possible you forget matter how smart or retentive you think your memory is, so don't think anyone who loses their password are dummies

Also, I want you to know that you have to constantly change your password each time you notice a suspicious activity trying to assess your mail but will you go to other YouTube, Instagram, Duo which you share similar password with and begin to change them too? No nah!

There are several things that can make you forget your password but the most important thing is to have a recovery email and phone

In my own case, I have both but they seem not to be working probably because I tried logging in from a new device

I wiped my phone few weeks ago and had the same problem. I tried all means but all proved abortive, I was just surprised on the 5th day when I received a Gmail on my recovery Gmail address...

What mail did you receive? Was it password recovery link?

@tosyne2much my guess is that it has to do with IP address. It’s possible the geo location you registered the account is different from the location you’re trying the recover the account. You may have to reach out to google through the support forums and provide them some more details

The recovery mail and phone number is still intact and I can still receive the recovery code but the response I get when I input the recovery code sent to my phone number is "you can't sign in on this device"


But the response I get when I use the recovery code sent to my recovery mail is "sorry Google can't verify you as the owner of the account"

If you can get ur old phone for 30 minutes, use it to recover ur account, also do that in a location you normally stay to login the most.

I'm currently in the same location where I normally login my account with the old device

Did you have a recovery email and phone number linked with your account?

If your answers are yes, and you are unable to recover your account, then leave the account for some hours and try again.
But of your answers are No, forget the account because Google won't be able to verify you as the owner.

Yes I have both recovery email and phone number and I'm receiving the G-digits code from Google

More reason you should always ensure you have a recovery phone number on your account, which serves as a two-factor authenticator and a stronger prove that you are who you say you are!

The funniest thing is that I have my phone number enabled as my 2fa authenticator

This is indeed possible to recover... And super easy... I cam only tell you to give it time... And do not make any attempt... And do not use the same device you are trying to login again for the nest 48hours.... If you must.. change your location to the location on your last phone and it's possible...

Maybe on a laptop after waiting for the next 48 hours?

I just have to create a new one after some series of unsuccessful trials.

Someone said if one waits for 3-5 days one would l receive password recovery link sent to the recovery mail but I'm not sure if that is true
