nobodytestme: What annoys me mostly on nairaland , is how every news has to become tribal, no reasonable comments from reasonable people on front pages anymore.
They’d rather forget the news / message and instead, tow the tribal lane, and start a tribal war
Doesn’t matter if you are Igbo or Yoruba or wherever you are from, truth is the Sowore’sissue is saddening , and instead ,the said youths who you think should have something meaningful to contribute , would rather turn it into a tribal war, ipob, Igbo, Yoruba , afonja and all sorts of names ..
If these are the youths or leaders of tomorrow, I give up, because our generation in power would be pretty much worse..
Every topic on nairaland has now become a tribal war, with little or no meaningful contribution.. It’s really sad Infact, it's tiring. |

We only live once... Pursue your real passion and purpose in life... I sense she will go far in entertainment and showbiz cos she has the carriage, voice, and charisma. I don't follow BBN so I don't know how passionate she is, but even with passion and YOLO mindset, people need to make sensible decisions. We've seen too many cases of entertainers fallig ill and not being able to afford healthcare. |

Do endorsements also include pension contributions and other benefits she gets in the UK? If it's her passion all well and good as long as she compares her choices objectively. |

safarigirl: So many men on this site are in this boat Ali Baba is dragging.
You see them here, calling every woman with the guts to have an opinion or self-esteem, a feminist. Calling women who know what they want evening newspaoer, accusing every successful woman of being an ashawo or "food for oga"....shameless 'men' that want to be worshipped just because they came to this world with a penis.
See a man old enough to understand life and values, giving advice, but watch how they will turn this thread into an opportunity to drag Yvonne Jegede and Toke, accuse them of being the reason their marriages failed, rather than address Ali Baba's concerns. Co sign. |

Ybaby: The solution to this problem is simple.
Ladies stop giving poor men the puussycat - trust me! Adam was incredibly lazy that Eve had to be created to entice Adam to work.
The only way Lazy men can have a little ambition is if you do not entertain them.
Lazy men are happy to dance soapy - let them! Give the soap and vaseline - only gravitate towards men with means.
Thank you. In which version of the Bible did you read this? Make your point but please don't include untrue statements. |

Na wa. I would like to know the TOTAL amount this government has borrowed so far, and secondly what is the payment plan? We cannot continue to put future generations into debt. Loans are not free money, they have to be paid back plus interest.
It's another topic entirely addressing what the borrowed monies have been used for, considering the current situation of the country. I really feel sad for this country. |

Ijawwomaninoyo: Set them up for what? What about the unemployed here before? Who set them up before they left? ALL of them were employed here, saved money (Minimum N1m) before relocating. You work for money, pay rents, feed, transport yourself and still have such savings, yet you say the Country is not working, you are leaving. A hen eats corn, drinks water and swallow pebbles, yet it complains of having no teeth. If it has teeth, will it eat gold? What else does it want to eat? Let it ask a cow with so many teeth what else it can eat except grass. Some sold their entire business, some left banking and 6 figures job to leave. It is not possible for an un employed person to leave a country, most were even employers of labour. They are the original cause of unemployment here, did you see the combination of what they forfeited, try and Photoshop them here, unemployment rate will reduce. One said he has business and branches in 7 province, the only thing he comes here to do is to greet his parents in December. Just imagine! 6 out of 10 of them have no homes here. If about 3 or 4 of those businesses were here, he should have been an employer of labour likewise the others and their taxes will help the government to do something. Ironically, himself, his family and kinsman are complaining about unemployment and hardship in Nigeria. They are the architect of their own misfortune. How on earth are they the cause of unemployment in Nigeria? Like how? If the govt had created an enabling environment where businesses can thrive, would any sane person not establish their business in Nigeria? Did you read where a person mentioned the various incentives the SA govt gives business owners? Do we have the same incentives? And now we have the nerve to blame them! How ridiculous. |

booksrite001: If I do not have people like you here, How would I learn to reach out the right way? Clearly, I am learning more, I have apologized and I have pledged to stop the liking of multiple posts/comments. Hence, Let's move on from this.
Well, if you read my posts well, you'll 'see instances where I (the person typing right now) stated my gender when people asked. I have done this multiple times, exchanged contact with some, met someone and planning more biz meetings. There is no deception here. If you're interested in knowing you could have as well simply asked.
FYI, this moniker Booksrite001 is not personal. It's purely for biz and hence 'female' attributes can be applied as any member of my team can be Booksrite001. The topic of using it,he or she for a company is still highly controversial but many including me would settle for 'feminine'.
Here is someone's opinion on it.
You are free to debate that in an appropriate section if you disagree.
I have reflected on your comment and I would not be honest if I do not equally advice that you check your motives. Your mindset is you and I realize that cannot change because we sometimes disagree, express contrasting opinions even about the same idea and I acknowledge that all these is just natural bringing in the factors of different cultural, educational and political backgrounds.
Thanks for writing. I hope you're typing from the app. Just to point out, NL has the option to NOT select a gender. No, I'm not typing from the app. Unfortunately, first impressions last long and once I am put off something from the start, it seldom changes. All the same, good luck with your app. |

zakim: Niger State Government has concluded talks with the National Examination Commission (NECO) to release the result of about 30, 000 students of the state withheld by the examination body. A statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mrs. Mary Noel Berje indicates that the state government has paid over N200 million to NECO this year to offset part of the students examination fees. According to the statement, government has also paid well over a billion Naira, from 2017, to various examination bodies to date.
It reiterated the commitment of the state government to providing free and compulsory basic education in the state. The statement said the state government has agreed to pay the examination body N50 million monthly for the outstanding balance that have accrued over the years. “The state government has met with the officials of NECO, we have agreed in principles, after making some payments last week, that they will release the results this week,” the statement explained.
While acknowledging education as the bedrock of any meaningful development, the statement expressed government’s commitment and effort towards revamping the education sector as one of its top priority assuring that it will not be compromised.

Though I am surprised at the speed she wants to use in leaving. If it weren't kidney failure, there would have been some other challenge that would make her disappear in record time.
So, irrespective of the current situation- I believe she is a fair-weather wife. She wanted the marriage, never was it him. That's not true. OJB already had 3 wives (each of which had 2-3 children for him) before he developed kidney issues. |

But back there in South Africa, it is easy to get loans with a soft landing. They have a lot of incentives being given to their citizens who are into business. The government has a lot of work to do to make life convenient for the people Here in Nigeria, it is how to increase VAT and make life even more difficult for the common man that the govt thinks about.
