I meant N1,500 recharge card, not N1,500 sim card.
PhonesRe: How Much Did You Buy Your First Sim Card. by toyboy1(m): 12:05am On Mar 27, 2010
First SIM card, How i hate to remember the amount, MTN SIM for N21,500. the sim actually came with a N1,500 sim card. I used one silly Nokia 3210, but really felt like a big boy in 2002.
RomanceWho Should He Jilt? by toyboy1(op): 12:18am On Mar 25, 2010
An Friend who wants to get married soon has two gals, he's considering settling down for one of em. He loves them both dearly and he is confused as to who he is to let go for the other. The first galfriend is 29yrs, while the second is 21yrs, n the guy himself is 30.

His mother advised him to jilt the 21 yr old gal!!!
Her reason: she is still young, still has time to forgive, forget and move on unlike the 29yr old, that may never recover from such heartbreak cos of her advanced age.

Should the guy go along with his mothers advice? Wat do u think?
PoliticsMammy Market Closes 6pm, Coup Scare! by toyboy1(op): 8:41am On Mar 18, 2010
The military commands yesterday, ordered the mammy markets in all its barracks nation wide to close shop by 6pm, the is against the normal closing time of say 10pm to 12am at various mammy markets nationwide.
News from the grapevine says the order is not unconnected with the recent cabinet dissolution by the Acting president, and also that some politicians who have lost out in the present power play may have been meeting there in a bid to invite the Khaki boys to take over.
It will be recalled that mammy markets and officers' mess has been known for its noteriety as a meeting points in the 80s' for such clandestine meetings over a pot of isi ewu and cold beer.

Whats your take on this?
PropertiesRe: Am I Being Old Fashioned Or Being Too Judgemental? by toyboy1(m): 12:56am On Mar 08, 2010
Nope, you are rather being realistic in a way, but looking at it from your friends point of view, N2m will not get him a plot of land in the same area he's renting a house for N1.8m, He might not want to build a house just any where for reasons best known to him.
I for one will not have a property just anywhere esp if I will live in d said property, thats why I have not build a house to live in yet, I ll rather continue to rent till i have the kind of money needed to buy or build a property in area/location I want to stay in.

PoliticsRe: Anambra Election Snares First Major Culprit by toyboy1(m): 2:29pm On Feb 05, 2010
PDP is not the only party in nigeria that rigs, virtually all parties do, moreso u rig where u believe you have strenght, its on this premise that i believe that the arrest of the APGA member is true,
No politican in nigeria is clean, Quote me anywhere, the only cry foul of marginalisation and all sorts when the odds do not favour them at that time in particular while claiming to be credible opposition, nonsense, Birds of the same feather, thats what they all are.
SportsRe: New Fifa Ranking: Nigeria Now World Number 15 by toyboy1(m): 9:22am On Feb 04, 2010
I am no fan of Amodu shuaibu, but i think the FIFA ranking is about right as we see it. looking back at the last 20 Games of our SE, its obvious that the statistics or wins, Draws and loses favours us well, not cos of Amodus' technical inputs or the Players commitments to all the games played, but rather by luck and providence by the God of soccer.
About Amodu, a tentative decision will be taken  on him by NFF tomorrow, i am of the opinion that he should not be sacked, but a sound technical adviser should be recruited to fill in the obvious technical gap in the coaching crew, while Amodu should remain as head coach, rem Christain Chuckwu/Westerhof days.

PoliticsRe: Violence In Sokoto? Not Religious/Political Says Police by toyboy1(m): 10:02pm On Jan 25, 2010
@ real4life:

I read with dismay all you have posted on this thread, i live and work in in sokoto and i have a first hand experience of what transpired over d weekend. Truely, it started with an arguement in UDUTH on friday as an arguement over some religious issues, the lady in question was to be lynched but was rescued by someone who was eventually killed.
An igbo man with his son was killed and their house burnt, igbo traders in sahara  reacted and refused to open shops for biz on saturday in the whole of Sahara, Aliyu Jodi and Rijia area were all empty as Igbo men did not sell o saturday.

An Hausa woman was killed and robbed while she was saying her prayers by miscreants who took advantage of the already tensed situation on ground to perpetrate their evil acts.
The governor, alongside anti riot police men (mobile police), regular policemen and Soldiers saved the situation from degenerating further by quickly parading the whole town with APCs - Armored personel carriers.

If it was purely an issue of robbery by miscreants, how come three houses were burnt all on early hours of saturday. How come the governor took pre-emptive measures in the middle of the night to combat the situation.

The crises was real but was quickly nibbed in the bud thanks to the Governor.

Who told you this wahala? Haven't you seen a black Pontiac Solstice, Lincoln MKS, Nissan Armada, Cadillac CTS, so on and so forth.
black makes a car look officious, the presidents car, senate president car, governors' car and all
but a red wine coloured car is a head spinner anywhere

AutosRe: What Does The Color Of A Car Say? by toyboy1(m): 5:14pm On Aug 18, 2008
no rule is 100% correct in its entirety.
there are always exceptions.
but generally, guys prfer masculine colours, n ladies, subtle ones.
AutosRe: What Does The Color Of A Car Say? by toyboy1(m): 4:57pm On Aug 18, 2008
Car colours speaks volumes about the personality of the owners - no hard and fast rule about this though.
Masculine guys always prefer dark colour for their cars.
while females generally like shouty coloured cars.
some cars will look out of place in some colours, just imagine a baby boy in skye blue? yuck,
all the cars i have owned have always been dark coloured like black, coffee brown.
CareerRe: My Salary Account Was Credited Twice by toyboy1(m): 2:52pm On Aug 05, 2008
You have no business touching the money in the first place.
Since it has been consistent, the the error should be from the salary schedule sent from your office, else the bank official posting this would not balance for thet period and would have been discovered by now. Or somehow, another compensating error would have made up for the difference not being discovered.
Alert the account/HR section of your company and equally the your bank. but before then, make sure you have all the cash (doubly credited) back in your salary account.
NYSC, Goverment or who ever it is that made such error, doesn't give you the te,merity to withdraw the money.
you should have raised an alarm in the first month you discovered such, cos if the bank discovers first (assuming the error is from them), your account will be thrown in tro debit for which the debit interest will be borne by you which is an additional cost.
if you consider this a blessing, then stealing from your employer or bank is equally a blessing too.
Cheers.
AutosRe: A Tap-like Sign With D Word Check Always Shows Red On My Dashboard, Why? by toyboy1(m): 7:59pm On Apr 04, 2008
its a simple problem.
1. Your car could be using leaded fuel as against unleaded fuel specified for the car by its manufactorer
2. Your oxygen sensor in either of exhaust pot 1, pot 2 or manifold could have gone bad, its commonly called
indomie by local meachanics.
3. it could men that the emmission level of your car is not as it should be, meaning its emmitting more
CO2 than specified by manufacture as against standard in certain countries. cos nowadays most
cars are to meet ULEV (ultra low emmission vehicle) standard.
In naija, this shouldnt bother u, as its no problem at all, keep driving ur car. But once u see the maintanance light lit, then u have to see a mechanic.

Alternatively, take your car to adigital diagnostic centre, it shouldnt cost more than 5k just to diagnose, but of u ask my opinion, its a waste of money.
Car TalkRe: Function Of 1, 2, And D In Automatic Gear. by toyboy1(m): 8:28am On Apr 04, 2008
D1 or 1 means u are locking ur gear permanently on gear 1, good for upward hilly, bumpy roads.
D2 or 2 means u r restricting ur gear to gear 1 and 2 but not beyond gear 2. that means d car shifts from 1 to 2 but not beyond 2. Good for lagos traffic.
D3 3 means ur car gear can move from 1 to 3 but not beyond 3. good for driving in area with speed restrictions.
D4 or D means unlimted access to wat ever gear you want to drive on, and is dependent on how u press down on ur accelerator.

some cars do not have D3 or 3. this is cos D or D4 can perform that task effectively too.
