koboko69:The damage his earlier statement on price increment could cause the system, hence the need for the "clarification" 'I did not say that refined petroleum products will sell for N97 per litre next year. I said that between a band of N87 and N97, we are going to be looking at prices and today the prices are largely close to N87. So, there is no need to change the price' |
Damage control it seems |
The Federal Government has denied that it plans to increase the pump price of petrol from N87 per litre to N97 by January 2016. The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources and Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, advised Nigerians to dispel such insinuations. Kachikwu stated this during a media parley at the NNPC Towers, Abuja, that the discourse has long left the realm of subsidy removal to a more scientific price modulation approach, which entails an elastic price mechanism regime to be reviewed periodically to reflect the prevailing international price of crude. He explained that when operational, the novel price modulation system would place a N97 per litre cap on the price of fuel to ensure that Nigerians are insulated from the vagaries of the global crude price. “I did not say that refined petroleum products will sell for N97 per litre next year. I said that between a band of N87 and N97, we are going to be looking at prices and today the prices are largely close to N87. So, there is no need to change the price,’’he said. The Minister noted that to determine the price of petroleum products in future, the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Authority (PPPRA), will undertake quarterly review of the crude market situation. “I have not put a static figure. PPPRA will have to do the calculation to be able to announce what price PMS will sell for in January, but we do not anticipate any major shift because of the price of crude today,’’ he noted. http://sunnewsonline.com/new/no-plan-to-increase-petrol-price-fg/ |

Probably only diesel will begin to flow again. The other two products (petrol and kerosine) won't because Capital oil cannot pay there bridging costs to transporters and marketers. Petroleum product depots are still shut because of oil union strike. The products must first get to the depots and be verified by ppmc,Dpr,pef, etc staff for any claims to be made by the transporter/marketer. |
I doubt he'll be offered such a position or if he'll accept it! |
No! Mr president and the First Lady have not been accredited! |
teabully:Oops! You got everything on its head bro! Take a look at what you just posted! Assistant comptroller, deputy comptroller, then comptroller. |
Human Drone! |
Demands have not been met, hence it's only a matter of time before we are back with the same demands |
Details please! Anybody? |
If he truly is a Catholic cleric I trust the Catholic secretariat will call him to order. The Catholic body in Nigeria does not support partisan politics. |
Phemmmy:Too rudimentary! What about frictional forces, efficiency of machines, energy losses in a system, law of conservation of energy, etc. @deliving it's abundantly clear you don't come close to being an expert on this, else you'd have realized the critical roles of the above mentioned |
Dscientist:You have said it. You're indeed a scientist! |
I see a lead acid battery in the second pic. Is that it? |
Wow! Great to know. So what's the flip side of this? Surely if its cost efficient and all what you've mentioned then more people would be looking in that direction! But no! |
Because this will give room for "political interpretations" by the opposition |
Couldn't this have waited for the "constitutional interpretation" debacle to at least die down? |
Job well done for "interpretation" of provisions of the constitution! Congratulation sir! |
icemann:It's simple interest |
When you're departing they tell you to hand them your naira notes as you won't be needing that where you're heading. |
OmoUSH:Why the venom? |
majekdom2:My point exactly! You don't have to listen to them "properly" to get turned off by their phony affected half baked British accent! |
The thing about this UK/US accent is you either have it or you don't! If you don't belief me try listening to Keshi, Yobo and the likes who have live in Europe. |
The exaggeration is simply outrageous! Even with the OAPs. Most of them simply use the affected accent to cover their poor command of the language. Like someone mentioned earlier for those who live in the US for example it's adaptation so you don't get to keep repeating yourself all the time. And when it comes to a typical Naija babe it gets from bizarre to downright ridiculous! |
