PoliticsRe: Your Bogus Rice Pyramids Are Pyramids of Lies - PDP Mocks Buhari, APC by Tpharell: 8:50am On Jan 19, 2022
Bobloco:
While it is easy to brandish some unverifiable statistics that Nigeria is producing a bogus 8million tons of rice.

But, we can not dispute the fact that as at 2015 a minimum wage of ₦18000 could afford at least two bags of rice while as at today, with a minimum wage of ₦30,000, one is unable to comfortably buy a bag of rice
Very well captured!
I honestly don't see how anyone can put up a reasonable response to that.
PoliticsRe: Central Bank Of Nigeria To Spend $8 Billion Defending The Naira In 2022 by Tpharell: 12:17pm On Jan 18, 2022
Is the CBN still 'defending' the naira? I thought the series of currency devaluations we witnessed would have addressed the 'currency manipulations' of the PDP era which ensured the naira exchanged less than 200 to a dollar.
Maybe, we should have continued to 'manipulate' the naira to remain below 200 to the dollar. Honestly!

The real offense committed is economic sabotage so the police should promptly conclude their in house processes and hand him over to EFCC for prosecution
AgricultureRe: Images From The Unveiling Of Africa's Largest Rice Pyramids by Tpharell: 11:39am On Jan 18, 2022
The basic economic theory of demand, supply and price doesn't seem to work here as the price of rise has continued its upward trajectory despite the purported massive increase in local production in the past two years. Beyond the fanfare how will the lot of Nigerians improve? Why is the imported product cheaper than the local?

I have seen great minds waste away their potentials due to such dispositions of 'I know all there is to know, and anyone I don't know does not exist and cannot be'. Notice how i first brought the local LNG issue to his attention to add to his knowledge bank. I recommended a google search, which would have given him some background about what i was talking about and saved him the embarrassment, but the hot head kept pushing me to expose his idiocy. And when i did, with reciepts, he had no more to say than take a cowardly flight. He learned the hard way.

Clearly, you are running away from admitting your total ignorance about Greenville LNG in nigeria and its activities. I understand that perfectly.
Like i have been telling you all evening, Greenville is a producer of LNG targeted at the local market. The LNG is trucked using cryogenic tankers to the north were they run power (at least two that i know of) plants, which the minister of state petroleum commissioned. Yes, they have re gasification units in kano and kaduna, and they have at least 7 lng refueling stations nationwide to serve their lng powered trucks. From our engagement anyone can tell you had no idea about all this, but now you know!

1. How does LNG arrive at these sites
2. name one of these site

YOU are the one that mentioned a power plant in Kaduna powered by gas do you admit that this is wrong?

I do not believe Greenville surely there must be at least one source other than Greenville?

You cannot find a single newspaper article to substantiate this?

Don't you find that strange

Those things being described as LNG stations are CNG stations

Ask the obvious question

HOW DOES the LNG GET THERE

Again, Greenville has location addresses of its 7 operating lng refueling stations in Nigeria on its website, but yet again you know too much to look it up. There are dozens of links on there activity on google but your pontificating ignorance is hindering you from seeing them

Anyway, i have pointed you to were you can find the answers you seek, but you seem to be unwilling to learn because of what you think you already know. At least, in my engagement with you today i have brought your attention to the existence of Greenville LNG in port harcourt, which you clearly never heard about until today, hence your ignorant back and forth. By the time you open your mind and realize that all what i have said here actually exists in Nigeria you will remember me!

aribisala0:
Regasification is not that
SIMPLE
It is very expensive
It would cost at least $ 1 billion to deliver a regassification plant with a capacity of 1 billion cubic feet of gas daily not to mention staff recruitment training and safety measures
You would need I billion cubic feet to produce 1000 MW/h of electricity
You have clearly never heard about modular units. Not everything LNG is the size of NLNG Bonny. On greenvilles's website there are pictures of modular cryogenic storage tanks and regasification units which the company installs at any facility they intend to supply gas to.
A simple google search on greenville lng as i earlier recommended would have answered the questions you asked, but you seem to think you know everything there is to know. Newspaper links on google will show you that greenville lng is fully operational supplying lng to the north. So you know there are at least 4 lng refueling stations btw ph and kano which serves those trucks.
I see that you have potential but ignorantly destroying it with refusal to open the mind to build on the little knowledge

Sir I have read up
Please if you want to quote me do not put your own comments inside the quote

I am just asking simple questions
1. Which power plant uses uses LNG
2. Do you know of any regasification plant in Nigeria

If you think about it

It does not make sense.
There is no need for LNG in Nigeria so I am not inclined to believe this without evidence
LNG is not cheap . The obvious sensible option for using methane close to source is pipelines which we have so why should we use LNG

Also you cannot use LNG without a regasification plant and finally

HOW IS LNG transported WITHIN Nigeria
It is not something you move in cylinders like cooking gas

This is not a matter of reading what Greenville says at their website
but JUST THINK ABOUT IT if you truly know what LNG is
Now you're beginning to sound like the other guy you were arguing with here earlier. Be open to learn about what you don't know rather than sticking to only what you know.
From my writeup do I sound like i just readup on Greenville's website?
Just so you know, lng is transported in cryogenic tanker trucks from port harcourt to power plants in kaduna and kano daily, on Nigerian roads
Regasification is simply warming the gas to ambient temperature.

Sir before I start let me say I am not insulting anyone.

I think you are making a mistake

There is NO NEED for LNG in Nigeria

It is simply NOT NECESSARY
I am willing to learn so if there is a power plant that runs on LNG that you know please share the information
suspect that what Greenville is marketing as LNG is actually LPG
To the best of my knowledge there is no REGASIFICATION PLANT in Nigeria
Again if you know of any please share the information
Greenville LNG produces LNG (along with the other associated hydrocarbon gases) which is trucked out to be utilized by power plants without any export. There are also few industries (i know two) around the country that use LNG ( trucked from Greenville) to run their plants.
This is to bring your attention to the small upcoming local lng market aside the 100% export by NLNG Bonny

Cooking gas (LPG) is also liquified

There is a fundamental difference between LPG and LNG

We use LPG in Nigeria to cook and it is also liquified NOT METHANE

LNG is mainly methane while LPG tends to be butane

LNG is stored at very low temperature minus 160 degrees Celsius enabling larger quantities to be squeezed into smaller spaces making it worthwhile as a business

The LNG is then transported by special ships and at the other end there has to be a REGASSIFICATION PLANT. These are all capital intensive infrastructure that has to be justified on commercial groundS
We use methane to power energy plants and this is delivered by pipeline
.
There is no need to liquefy methane for use in Nigeria
because there are pipelines

The main reason for liquefaction is to reduce cost of transportation . I know there has been talk of pipeline through the Sahara and the Mediterranean as an alternative which I believe would be commercially viable but the politics and security could be a challenge
I see how you have been battling to educate some folks here who clearly know next to nothing about hydrocarbon gas but won't admit it.
You are largely right that Nigeria does not consume its LNG, however, be aware there are pockets of few power plants that run on lng here, yes, I know in Kano. Their lng consumption is statistically insignificant (zero) when compared with those export figures, so you are somewhat right.
Ever heard of Greenvile lng in port harcourt? Very meagre production capacity but all utilised locally without export

People calling for legalization and licensing of kpofire operations fail to realize that the only reason the activity is profitable is because the crude is stolen from pipelines. Ask them to pay for the crude and the business becomes unprofitable. Infact, they can't even break even, talk less of making profits due to the inefficient and incomplete processes.
