fenandopo: i think alot of guys here misunderstand the essence of the question concerning the advantages and disadvantages of an arranged marriage. There is a mix up between FORCED MARRIAGE and ARRANGED MARRIAGE here!! Alot of guys are instead giving the advantages of an aranged marriage and the disadvantages of a forced marriage. u get my drift?? Here is the difference as i myself i am some what undergoing the process of a arranged marriage right now. i somehow coerced my aunt and ucle to check out a good, God fearing family and choose a God fearing gal for me 2 marry, as i trust their judgement more in these matters. I have got about 3 families and 3 girls lined up, to checkup i the coming months (lucky me i had say)!!you see? if i dot like the girls, i move to the next family. no one is forcig or coercing me!!

alternatively, a forced marriage is where you force a guy or a girl to marry some one they dont know or love, or even care less about. ladies and gents, now that the clarificatios have been made, could we now answer the question again. and forgo the juxtapositioning of arranged and forced marriages?? cheers mate

Harmonyemerald: And the lady in question earned it and most guys here don't seem to appreciate that act because they expected her to put out and that brings us back my point of arguement; the lack of respect for what the embodiment of a lady entails. The lady didn't ask the guy or force him to surprise her on her birthday with a visit, he did that out of the generosity of his mind and the girl did what every decent lady should have done in her place. Now what was her offense?? That she was an exception in the generation where immorality is at the apex??

aro1: have tried this also trying to relate with these ladies,let me give u an example,there was these lady i rily lyk,she kinda look like a glamorous girl,but not minding that,i call her often and i also add her on whatsapp,wuld u believe this lady did not reply me? So this jus cap it all that yoruba ladies kinda feel pompous,and i cn say it that beauty wise,ibo ladies rock more,nd they are less difficult.

Africans psychological hate or blockage for the sea has a lot to do with slavery, pre slavery we used to travel through the sea, just look at the islands surrounding us, how did we get there if not through the sea ?

Anyway I don't know all African cultures and I from the forest but I really doubt any African culture has anything against the sea est with a continent a surrounded by water bodies, I mean common ...who exactly? Ijaw ? Sawa ?
