Islamic scholars were in Enugu as far back as two centuries ago, i doubt there are no Igbo muslims from the area since then. |
Islam is spreading among whites in general. And, you seem very familiar with mexico? |
Nosu: And also take note that I don't intend having wives becos from where I come from( which is above) we don't do polygamy.Like i said, i pity your wives! |
Nosu: U don't hv to, just get busy wit ur things. mine will be glorious, so don't disturb urself. Obviously we are living in two different realitiesYours is already miserable, abi no be you open thread? |
I do pity your wives. |
OAM4J: I am not aware of this complaint tpia. Even though there is nothing I could have done since the threads are not in my section, I could have at least inform the moderators in the section or the admin or the supermods about it. You might want to give me the link to the complaint if its not already too late to act on it.my point was we all know the site admin are part and parcel of the nonsense that goes on here. as per doing anything, too late for that now. Besides, i made a remark on the complaint thread here, around that same time, about things going on in the tribalism section. Like i said, carry on.! |
Well, we all know oam4j is just trying to amuse him or herself here, nice try. Barely a month or so back, i kept drawing two particular hate threads on yorubas, to the mods attention, one in food section and the other in culture section. I was soundly ignored and these were the eventual responses i got: Food section mod: oh, the thread is so funny, i was not offended by it and therefore it offends nobody (or maybe she was telling me i am a nobody since SHE is the mod) One of her goons also came on board to support her, i had no issues with that one because she was clearly an i.diot, sorry to say. Culture mod: ignored me then put up a profile picture of his head being carried by some voodoo cannibals. Not sure if the picture was meant for me or his fellow witches in the coven. So, carry on folks, we are watching you, keep playing while rome is burning. |
Yeah. . .Healthy foods.
Before, not now. |
He looks anything but black. |
ayujahndon: I remember very early in this Fash administration, Abubakar(IG of Police0 was arresting ladies for wearing spaghetti tops etc. I predicted then that boys who sag will be arrested and very soon too that men who do not iron their clothes properly and polish their shoes will be picked upWe've already gotten there! People complained about ladies being cautioned over inappropriate dressing, and what did we have after that? Even more inappropriate dressing. Having your breasts hanging out and on full display to all and sundry, is now considered normal attire. At this rate, i guess everybody should wait until people start hanging their clothes in airport lounges or on the govt parastatal lawns before anyone moves a whisker. |
Op are you nigerian. |
Nobody is ugly with the right make up. |
I dont get where giving gifts comes in. |
tbaba1234: Saw this on my fb today. Allah Akbar..Funny. Never heard the scenario in your second sentence though. |
True |
I doubt there was any occupation unique to yorubas which werent also found everywhere else. |
Tell your 7+ wives to take your surname or else you wont marry them. Eod. Since your disgrace can only be cured by changing names. |
^ the link i'm asking about precedes your frame of reference. I know most people arent aware of any other context besides the one of bini expansion, because its a sensitive area and much offence is taken. |
prexios: thanks so much tpia@,Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated. I'm doing a little research on my own and some of the material is just so interesting. I love reading up on yoruba history even though its so vast and can be confusing, if you dont mind my saying so. There are times when i wish i had musiwa's gift for plotting maps, just so the info could be better organized. I'm however a bit limited because i dont have a fuller grasp of the language ( its very deep) and also so much information is lacking /missing due to the different time frames pertaining to yoruba. |
prexios: Yes, it is. but it helps that we see the Ado as the Ado invoke everywhere in Yorubaland. the reason is, it help us to trail the path of the ancestors from the north to Onitsha- Ado to Edo, Ado Ekiti, Akure Ado-Odo and to Lagos where he was seen as the first king of the island and so fort. the individual is the same, the people were so very industrious at that ancient time.Is there an edo link with ado, as in is ado linked to what is now known today as edo. |
He'll be back if the kids are doing well. |
There is nothing wrong with asking questions ( and the op can ask on the question thread btw), but i think all he's trying to do is cause confusion. If you've listened to various scholars and some are for while others are against, then what exactly necessitates you bringing the same matter to nl, what makes you feel the same wont happen here. Of course the best option is to just allow him/them to go ahead with the original intent, just for the sake of people like you, however, occasionally folks need to know they are not as sneaky as they think they are. And after all anyway, how e take concern me, na my section? |
gboss4sure: Whatever Fashola do he shouldn't forget that this is Africa and we have our own way of life, I have no problem with people hanging cloths outside but i have a problem with those ladies that hang their pants and bra outside, Fashola should make the law biddable to underwear's alone and let us be the Africans we are. Spreading cloths outside runs in the blood of every Nigerian even all of the people that's ranting ans supporting Fashola here, do spread their cloths outside if you don't spread your cloths outside then do you spread it inside your sitting room? Remember that a balcony is also outside and don't think your cloths will be safe if you hang it in your balcony because one thing Nigerian law enforcers knows very well is how to utilize a law to any extent they like. When the shall start seizing cloths make sure you don't come here to rant.Bro, there is nothing african about hanging your clothes on the highway. I have never seen such, not even done by my uber african grandmas from the village. They are more african than you and still cant be accused of such a crime. Eod. |
LASG is confuse in there policy as a government, for crying out loud we are Africans. Mtcheeeeee
Who is the "we" and what do you mean? |
Generational curse |
CHIDONE: Where would do they want them to spread it? maybe inside their kitchen or parlourEven in the village, do you see people spreading clothes on the highway? Or in the front of their houses? |
