I find it strange prostitution is what they would resort to, its highly likely they were deliberately given that option with the intention of turning them into the same.

Its also possible some of them were already on that path to begin with, assuming none of them is pretending to be the widow/s of the clerics in question.

What are their denominations? Their respective churches are supposed to assist them.

However, given the high level of p.rostitution in nigeria, i would not be surprised if the situation was planned.

But its never too late to retrace your steps, trust in the lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

Why cant criminals be exiled from their points of origin or areas of operation.

Is that what the british used to do?

Everybody wants to kill, but nobody wants to die, they are emptying the prisons now and the robbers/criminals are panicking.

Yet their mentors will still keep recruiting more gullible mugus to do their dirty work.

antartica: The more the hopeless system treats socalled armed robbers like animals, the more violent and desperate they become in theirs bids to get away Scot free from robbery operation. And it is the public that suffers, because there will always be robbery and kidnapping in a country that is ruled by ruthless bandits.
So what's your own solution to the problem of lawlessness and crminality which is endemic to nigerians?

Should you blame the culture, the parents, the society, the sexually loose mores, the civil war, the slave trade, the whites/westerners, what exactly?

And while you're at it, why not recognise the contribution of baby farms to this phenomenon? When babies are sown and reared like cash crops for export and sale to the highest bidder, why wont they turn out this way?

tbaba1234: Single.
i guessed as much.

I don't know what SO means but i guess it relates to the first question.
SO means significant other, ie somebody you're in a relationship with.

I am not actively for anyone at the moment but that would change soon. In sha Allah.

Why not? Well, i am working on a project right now. but very soon, In sha Allah.
is this something you look forward to, or dread?

I think my first priority is her religion, a person who already has a good level of commitment.
no doubt.

A woman who can compliment my faith and can lift me up when i am down. And I can do the same for her. Someone who would sprinkle water on my face to wake me up for prayers if necessary.
by this, i assume you want someone whose level of religious devotion would not need too much buffering from you.

At the very least, she has to has some passion for Islam even if knowledge isn't great.
passion in what sense?

If there is no passion, there will be no will to learn.
you mean a basic interest in learning more about Islam, as well as a commitment to learning.

When religious men marry women who are not so serious, it is difficult because the man has to do a lot of work to keep the kids straight.
noted.

Beyond religion, there has to be compatibility. This means we can have meaningful, beneficial conversations which both parties enjoy and benefit from. With compatibility and communication, understanding can be built and both parties know what is expected and there will be less squabbles.
conversations on what subject, do you have a general idea what types of conversations you have in mind?

eg, religious, or just general?

Beauty is important but not number 1 on my list, I think it is a shallow priority. As long as she is good-looking, i am fine.
good looking = beauty, but i get your point.

i think you mean as long as she isnt ugly.

The only 'dates' i get come during ramadan. And they are fruits.

Muslims should not engage in premarital affairs. If you are attracted to someone, find out about the person , have conversations with the person and make a decision on marriage.
i put "date" in quote because i wasnt sure of the right word. Perhaps courtship would have been a better choice.

This question is confusing because all muslims are supposed to be moderate, following the middle path. So If my wife is moderate, it is good thing..
by moderate i mean less strict.

I don't think, i am a strict person. I know brothers that are far stricter than me. Before marriage, the kind of home, i want will be discussed and if there is an agreement, we will move forward.
fair enough.

Prostitutes beat up Ondo environmental officers

There was a mild drama in Akure, the Ondo State capital on Saturday when some prostitutes beat up security personnel attached to the state Environmental Task Force during the monthly sanitation exercise.

The women tore the uniforms of the security personnel into shreds and inflicted varying degrees of injuries on them when they tried to arrest them for not complying with the environmental laws.

However, when they got to the Inner Circle Hotel at Oke paadi, off Lao Street in Akure, they met the prostitutes with their clients during the exercise drinking alcohol and dancing.

The development prompted the men of the Task Force to make moves to arrest them.

The prostitutes, however, resisted and also prevented them from arresting their clients.

Our correspondent observed that in the process, civil defence officials and one of the policemen attached to the Task Force were beaten up by the prostitutes and their clients.

A female civil defence officer also had her uniform torn by the prostitutes.

It took the intervention of additional security men comprising policemen, State Security Service officials and civil defence personnel in the team, to bring the situation under control.

The commissioner consequently ordered his men to seal off the hotel premises.

Fleeing robbers kill 10 travellers

Hell was let loose in the early hours of yesterday in Akure as some armed robbers invaded Olokuta Medium Prison on Ondo Road Akure in the state capital, freeing about 179 inmates and killing 10 travellers.

It was gathered that over 100 armed robbers who have been jailed as well as those on awaiting trial, escaped during the jail- break along with other criminals who were also in the prison's custody. The freeing bandits, it was learnt, were some of the robbers terrorizing the people of the state, arrested and prosecuted by the police and were ordered by the courts to be remanded in the prison's custody

After carrying out the operation in the prisons, and while trying to escape with their colleagues from the scene, the robbers ran into some travellers along Ondo Road whose vehicle had a flat tyre at a point very close to the entrance of the prison. They shot and killed 10 of the passengers instantly, including the driver.

TravelRe: Do You Flaunt Or Hide Your Nigerian Passport When Travelling? by tpia5: 3:33am On Jul 02, 2013
Princek12: I know this thread sounds funny, but I just had to create it to address a certain pattern I noticed among Nigerians during my last three travels to several countries in Europe from the United States.

You know when you have passed through security and are sitting at the departure gate waiting for boarding to begin. Yes, you know--when people are waiting in line to board the plane. You notice those with USA passports (the Blue Passport) typically hold their passports out for the world to see, sometimes by placing it on the top of other documents they have or just holding the Blue Passport by itself and making it noticeable.

To the contrary, those with Nigerian passports (the Green Passport) typically remove their passports from public view, sometimes by placing it at the bottom of the pile of documents that they have or leaving it in their purses or pockets. They tend to expose their passport insofar as it is needed to be inspected--in just enough time to show the airline employee, and the passport is removed from public view immediately it is no longer needed. This same thing happens at the check-in counter.

This practice is also common at Murtala Muhammed Airport.

While this does not apply to every Nigerian traveler, I know it applies to many of you, whether you would admit to it or not. I see you people all the time. Which of the traveler are you?
and those with red passports, how did you notice them do their own? huh

@ tbaba

even though i'm not muslim, i've followed some of your threads occasionally.

i'm curious about some of these things:

-are you single or in a relationship:

I assume you're single [correct me if i'm wrong]

- are you currently looking for a SO, if no, why not

-if yes, what are your requirements of a potential partner? ie what attributes do you look for? Of course we know she must be muslim, but what level of commitment do you require?

- do you see yourself with, or would you allow yourself to "date" a moderate muslim? [moderate as in, more moderate than you, relatively speaking. I'm not saying you're moderate, per se]

-if so, would you require the person to practice a stricter form of the religion once you settle down

just curious, that's all.

the subject of prostitution is a particularly thorny one for nigeria and nigerians, seeing it can be considered one of our chief exports [behind crude oil perhaps] despite the high level of religious activities we are known for.

and yes, no supply without demand, its difficult to address something of this nature when its indulged in by others who are equally culpable.

which post of mine did you see on fp?

as per discussing my religious convictions with fellow christians, are you confusing me with someone else perhaps? huh

i do not engage in religious debates, generally speaking.

You have nothing to fear about Ramadhan and in extension Islam anyway. People who understand Islam don't do evil irrespective of the month.
