Little more info on Quakers: -Barclays Bank was founded by Quaker partners John Freame (1669 - 1745) founded Barclays Bank in 1690. John Freame was born in Cirencester the son of Robert Freame. In 1683 he was apprenticed to Job Bolton, a quaker goldsmith based in Lombard Street. Upon completion of his apprenticeship he went into partnership with Thomas Gould, a fellow quaker. Located in a part of the city where 25% of the population were quakers they were able to build up their reputation - and their business particularly amongst their co-religionists. The partners soon became more connected as John married Priscilla, Thomas' sister, while Thomas married Hannah, John's sister.
In 1713 he published Scripture Instruction: Digested into Several Sections by Way of Questions & Answers in Order to Promote Piety & Virtue, and Discourage Vice & Immorality, with a Preface Relating to Education -Cadburys [makers of Bournvita], was founded by a Quaker - The state of Pennsylvania was founded by a Quaker [William Penn] -Quakers pioneered the use of industrial techniques in chocolate processing circa 1759 — Joseph Fry, a Quaker, starts making chocolate 1761 — Joseph Fry and John Vaughan purchase the chocolate business of Walter Churchman. Company named Fry, Vaughan & Co. 1777 — Chocolate works move from Newgate Street to Union Street, Bristol 1787 — Joseph Fry dies. Firm is renamed Anna Fry & Son 1795 — Joseph Storrs Fry assumes control. He patents a method of grinding cocoa beans using a Watt steam engine. As a result factory techniques are introduced into the cocoa business. wiki |

^Pastor Kumuyi is aware of the suspension, and if he has no objections to it, then i think the matter should rest there. the son said his dad had earlier decided not to attend the wedding, but he eventually did so. its an internal affair and it will be sorted out, shouldnt be made into a big deal. deeper life does not support avoidable extravagance, hence the loud outcry from unbelievers and fornicators over the church refusal to endorse flamboyant wedding parties. deeper life doctrine is similar to quakers- who were also very strict. Quaker marriage today
When a couple decides to get married they declare their intentions to marry to the meeting (either in writing or in person). The meeting then appoints a clearness committee to talk with the couple and make sure that they have properly prepared themselves for marriage. If the committee is clear that this couple is ready, they recommend that the monthly meeting should take this wedding “under their care” and appoint a committee to ensure the couple makes all the needed arrangements for the wedding ceremony. These duties vary but may include helping schedule the date, finding premarital counseling, making the Quaker marriage certificate, making sure the couple knows how to acquire and file any legal documents. wiki |

i wish Deeperlife stood its ground on NO TV and we'll have less rebellious children and crass fornicators as Frosbel, Afam4ever, and Biolabee who all needs urgent spiritual help to get them out of the way of perdition. those people are not deeper life members, they're just internet rabble rousers. i'll be surprised if they ever set foot in the church or know anything about it beyond second hand gossip. |

Hope the detractors can go and find another topic to detract now?
Make una nor break their marriage o, or else all the gods you say you're running from while pretending to be christian, will deal with you. |

Boko Haram: WAEC to engage slain staffers’ widows
MANAGEMENT of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has pledged job opportunities for the three widows of its members of staff who were murdered by the Boko Haram sect recently.
The offer of appointment was made by the WAEC Head of National Office, Mr Charles Eguridu, on Tuesday in Lagos at the commendation service organised by the WAEC management in honour of the slain staff. The late WAEC staff member, Peter Gwalasha, a senior examination officer; Boniface Emmanuel, driver and Corporal Daniel Alexander, were killed on Friday, April 19, near Damboa, Borno State, while transferring scripts of the May/June 2013 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), of candidates in Adamawa and Taraba states from the WAEC branch office in Yola to the zonal office in Maduguri.
Paying his tribute at the commendation service for the late personnel, which was held at the Excellence Hotel, Ogba, Lagos the Head of National Office (HNO), Mr Charles Eguridu, lamented the incident which occurred while they were serving their country.
According to him, the three widows would start work with the council by July and if they can not take the offer but have any child who is qualified, he/she would be employed in place of their mothers. “This is a great loss not only to their families especially their wives and children, parents, relatives and loved ones but to the council as well.
He also prayed God to grant affected families the fortitude to bear the loss. “On behalf of the management and staff of the council in Nigeria , I extend my condolence to the bereaved families,” he added.
Eguridu noted that in spite of the challenges, threats, injuries and deaths the May/June 2013 West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in Nigeria has come to a successful conclusion, adding that the trauma that attended the conduct of the school examination would remain indelible. Registrar to the council, Dr Iyi Uwadiaea, who was represented by Reverend S.N.N Ollenu, in his address, expressed his regret at the brutal killings of the three officials who were on active duty, adding that no material things or money could make up for the loss. http://tribune.com.ng/news2013/en/news/item/13605-boko-haram-waec-to-engage-slain-staffers%E2%80%99-widows.html |

I think the moderators here are up to something by their unreasonable repetition of what has since been laid to rest. this looks like a calculated attempt to rubbish a church that sincerely follows the word of God to the best of their understanding irrespective of who is hurt. Though we may all have our different views.
This thread was earlier discussed on this link : https://www.nairaland.com/1341869/pastor-kumuyis-son-apologises-deeper-life/18
Here many comments were made which should have ended this matter. I sense mischief and it seems Nairaland specializes in posing affronts to the ministers of God and the church of the Living God. are you new here? maybe you feel religion section means christian section. |

Stephen Amell: Out of Fifty Shades of Grey Movie After Reading Book?
Based on a couple of recent comments he made, Arrow star Stephen Amell is reportedly out of the running for the lead role in Fifty Shades of Grey.
Earlier this spring, the Canadian heart throb had more than a few hearts aflutter when he confirmed he “had a meeting” about starring in the film.
He's singing a different tune now, however.
“Was on a flight back to LA with no movie, so I grabbed Fifty Shades of Grey and burned through it,” the actor, 32, wrote on Facebook last week.
Apparently he was not impressed.
“Umm ... I hope they get the movie made, and I’m sure someone will be excellent in it. [But] that person will not be me,” Stephen Amell added.
So did he just take himself out of contention for a major film role he was under fairly serious consideration for? That's the implication, right? http://www.thehollywoodgossip.com/2013/05/stephen-amell-out-of-fifty-shades-of-grey-movie-after-reading-bo/[img] http://static.pourfemme.it/pfgossip/fotogallery/625X0/45761/stephen-amell.jpg[/img] |

i remember going there when i was invited by a school friend.i didnt like there anyway but i had to bury my sentiments since its God we are worshipping except for the fact that our school of thought to many things are different.anyway when i got there,i sat down.the next 5 minutes,a 'brother' came and tapped me to sit somewhere else that this section was for males.i didnt even notice because i didnt observe but as he said that,i looked around and discovered it was true.the right side was for females and the left side for males.even married couples dont sit together.i just shook my head and went to sit in another place directed by the usher,i said in my mind,i wont allow this eye service hypocritical peeps to make me sin.let me just worship and get out of here.the following sunday, she knocked my room taya,of course i didnt open the door for her, when she didnt get a response, she left many churches do the same, its not only deeper life. even orthodox churches can have separate seating for both genders. however, of course there's always the right to open leg and breast yakata in male section if its revolution time. |

I am always amazed any time I see something like this; ŊO̶̷̊͡ man can have all the qualities you listed above together at the same time. We are always quick by listing out so many qualities without realising that ŊO̶̷̊͡ man/woman is perfect...
ŊO̶̷̊͡ human being or relationship can be perfect, is the compromise we make; that will make it works.
The picture below will explain it better... unless i'm missing something, that particular poster is female. and why did you rush in with that picture of a showbiz person kissing a muslim woman in hijab. na wa o. anyway, its true goodlooking is usually a masculine term, but i assume the poster is female since she indicated that on her moniker. of course i stand corrected if wrong. |

tunwe: My passports resides in my breast pocket. I do not hold it on my hands becos usually I have some other valuables tucked in the sleeves. I am not conscious of them at all. I put them where I think is safe. That is the inner pockets of my coat. I have never been embarassed , intimidated nor received undue extra scrutiny becos of my green pp. There was one occation I arrived at George Bush international airport from Frankfurt germany with luftansa. On arrival ,as usual people filed into the lines. The line for visitors, non citizens etc were very long. But the ones for citizens was very short , less than ten people. As usual my passports were inside my pockets. And was wearing native bowber and sokoto, with wooley turtle neck warmer underit. So I filed on the short line for US citizens. Behold, this attending immigration officer at the counter shouted "this is for US citizens only". I ignored him, pretending I didn't hear him. He repeated the same expletive words twice looking directly;toward my direction. At this time , there were about four to five people behind me. So I looked back to none verbally indicate to the people behind me , if the officer is talking to them. The officer was ticked, I could see him getting red in the face, visablely boiling and spoiling for a fight. I just maintained my calm and paid him no mind. When I got to the counter I put my hand in sokoto pocket and tendered my US passport. He was embarassed. I asked him what made him think I can't read? your agbada perhaps. you forgot to mention if the person taking offence was black or white. |
