TV/Movies › Re: What Is The Difference Between 3D And Animation Cartoon? by tpia5: 1:30am On Apr 21, 2013
animation is 2D, i think.

meaning two dimensional- length and breadth only.

3D would be three dimensional characters and setting, giving a more realistic feel to the movie.

There's the illusion of depth which a 2D doesnt have.

A good example of 3D is legend of the guardians, which while needing a little fine-tuning on the storyline, has very impressive 3D animation.

I face these almost in my everyday life, the single guys keep coming with the married men
like i said, some of you women prefer to chase married men because the single males are more picky.

now, if you dont want either type of men, then what exactly are you complaining about?

maybe you have a grouse with men chasing you, period.

to mark the Nigerian centenary celebration of 100 years of the Nigerian woman
nigerian women are indeed in deep trouble if this is the only comment quoted by the media from that event.

God bless that young man that picked me and decided to pity me and marry me when I had given up all...I am saying this because I want you all to hear it, God bless him for me for covering up my shame"
so, its no longer God who has that function.

hmm, we shall see as the stories unfold.

Tashamania:
Thank God, you said "some" and fortunately I am not among the "some" that chases guys that are in relationships talk more of married guys. It might interest you to know that I don't even chase guys.
smiley
then you shouldnt be tripping over married men who you say are disturbing you.

womanizing nigerian men [dont know about others] typically do not waste their time if they feel a woman isnt going to respond to their advances. They size you up first, before they go in for the kill.

so, if married men are chasing you round the clock on nl or elsewhere, there's likely to have been a green light from your end, in some way.

assuming there was none, then i think a simple ignore mode would suffice, if no sounds too rude.
Self-deprecation

Self-deprecation is the act of belittling or undervaluing oneself.[1] It can be used in humor and tension release.

In comedy

Self-deprecating humor relies on the observation of something supposedly negative about the person delivering the commentary.

Many comedians use self-deprecating humor to avoid seeming arrogant or pompous, and to help the audience identify with them.

In this way, the use of self-deprecating humor could be seen as an application of the rhetorical concept of pathos. This is seen as a major component of the comedy of American comedians such as Joan Rivers,[3]Louis C.K.,[4]Don Knotts,[5] and Woody Allen.[6]

The technique is often used to balance the audience judgment on a performer, after exhibiting conspicuous displays of arrogance.

Professionals in any given field will also either avoid typical jargon and use lay terms to be understood and therefore appreciated by the masses.

Self-deprecation is an important aspect to clowns. Unlike other forms of comedy, an audience is typically supposed to laugh at the plight of the clown, not with it.

SMDH undecided
this statement doesnt fall into that category, it obviously means more:

some women do not chase a man unless he's in a relationship.

they're not attracted to single guys.

Matthew 14

He went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone, 24 and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.

25 Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake.

26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.

27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”

29 “Come,” he said.

Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.

30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”

31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”

32 And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down.

33 Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”
Matthew 8

23 Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him.

24 Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping.

25 The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”

26 He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.

27 The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”

A wider context:

exodus 14

Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the Lord drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided, and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left.
genesis 1

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

9 And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” And it was so.

10 God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” And God saw that it was good.
in the bible, separation of the sea from dry land in this manner (or causing dry land to appear from the sea), originally happened during creation, when the earth was being formed.

The verse from Exodus 14 gives us a glimpse of how this was done.

Likewise Genesis 8:1

8 But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark, and he sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded.
Christianity Etc › Re: Bible Study For Bible Students by tpia5:
some background:

Exodus 13

21 By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night.

22 Neither the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left its place in front of the people.
Exodus 14

19 Then the angel of God, who had been traveling in front of Israel’s army, withdrew and went behind them. The pillar of cloud also moved from in front and stood behind them,
Moses or (let's say) the Isrealites probably knew fear at that moment, when it seemed the Lord was deserting them.

This is where the issue of faith comes into play.

The pillar which had signalled God's presence and support, withdrew and went behind them. In front was the ocean. No way back, no way forward.

coming between the armies of Egypt and Israel. Throughout the night the cloud brought darkness to the one side and light to the other side; so neither went near the other all night long.
the cloud signifies the word of God, which can mean darkness for one side and light for another.

During this period of deliverance for Isreal, it meant/caused a separation between children of God and the world, which is necessary during such times.

God's Deliverance in Times of Discouragement

Exodus 14

19 Then the angel of God, who had been traveling in front of Israel’s army, withdrew and went behind them. The pillar of cloud also moved from in front and stood behind them,

20 coming between the armies of Egypt and Israel. Throughout the night the cloud brought darkness to the one side and light to the other side; so neither went near the other all night long.
I imagine the Isrealites must have initially been terrified and Moses himself would have been disheartened to see the angel and the pillar of cloud move away from them.

sometimes, when we do not know God's plan, it seems things are getting worse instead of getting better. In actual fact, He may be repositioning his angels just before his move of deliverance.

This song has ministered to me, I'm not sure what the writer's original situation was, but the words, to me, describe Moses' state of mind just before God parted the red sea.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ln5DIlGEWc

There's a ragin' sea right in front of me
Wants to pull me in, bring me to my knees
So let the waters rise if You want them to
I will follow You, I will follow You, I will follow You

I will swim in the deep 'cause You'll bein' next to me
You're in the eye of the storm and the calm of the sea
You're never out of reach

God, You know where I've been and You were there with me then
You were faithful before, You'll be faithful again, I'm holdin' Your hand
