lyricalpontiff: Yes W̶̲̥̅̊e̶̲̥̅̊ deserve it very well,W̶̲̥̅̊e̶̲̥̅̊ host d biggest bƠ̴̴͡.̮Ơ̴̴͡k festival I̶̲̥̅̊n̶̲̥̅̊ Africa which Ȋ̝̊̅§ d garden city bƠ̴̴͡.̮Ơ̴̴͡k festival which comes up annually.trying to decipher your post but if the award is based on hosting book festivals then that's it i guess. hosting a book festival actually has little to do with having a reading culture. |
does anywhere read more than sw'ern nigeria? ![]() seriously. |
pcicero: Sis, it was somewhere in Lagos. Maybe it had to do with the processing, but it was coarse and not fluffy unlike wheat bread. It was also getting stale quickly and usually produces one horrible smell after some days.thanks for the info. I dont think i knew of this corn bread and in any case, it sounds like a rushed job. real corn bread doesnt keep that long, and yes its coarse and not fluffy. I'm not sure why anyone would think corn bread can commercially substitute for regular bread? Only if wheat isnt available for whatever reason.i also dont know why the govt isnt looking into rice as a source of flour. Its light, low in calories, etc. there are also other alternatives like banana bread which has a zero presence in nigeria for some reason, bread mixed with fruit, etc. key word here is alternatives- such as the agege bread you mentioned. |
monami2abd: Laptop no 39, just got his laptop 2 weeks (june 26, 2012) ago so trying to rise through the rank...... SMHhmmm. |
just saw this photo on the web. kim actually looks sort of black (or maybe hispanic). Might be the hair. and looks much better with the weight gain, strangely enough. kanye just seems as grumpy as ever. |
A Born again , Spirit filled Christian woman will not marry a Muslim man , this is 100% factsome do, althuogh i'm yet to understand the rationale behind it. maybe they claim its love or something. . . . . . . . . . . . ? anyway, God is in control. Some of them do have good marriages until the man decides to go fundamental. and true, most christian women who marry muslim men, are generally nominal and not very committed to their faith. |
under_studying the president in bed or what?gej is governing, she's under him, so yes. understudying governance. |
. |
but is there no relative, friend, associate, enemy or whatnot who he can use to compensate his benefactor. this is a bit direct, since gej is still a sitting president. just saying. she could have gone into media or nutrition like michelle is doing. |
talking bird indeed. anyway, @ topic they could also be trying to get her out of Aso rock perhaps. maybe "they" feel she spends too much time there. who knows what goes on in these nigerian politics. |
Seriake Dickson, the Governor of Bayelsa State who was himself handpicked for that position by President Goodluck Jonathanmaybe that's how they handpick themselves over there sha. |
ping pong: Calling 40 Laptopsi need to look for that thread. i saw the headline and thought it was spam before. |
seriously, mrs chima you've been in romance section for years. shouldnt your assignments have been broadened by now? ![]() just curious. |
Understudying governance? That's a good one. Is FSU beaf, btw. |
Too much disney. You'll wake up when you realize others dont see you the way you see them through your rose coloured glasses. |
How were they able to access people's nl accounts since only the site admin could send messages? |
In any case, the key word here is choice. One isnt supposed to replace the other. You can advise people about food choices, but forcing them to choose in this manner, can only have profit as the motive. Someone is banking on big cash here. |
Which corn bread policy was that? Never heard of such. Maybe it was limited to some parts of the country. And btw, corn bread is actually very tasty and if you're living overseas and havent tasted cornbread, you're missing big time, trust me. I assume the corn bread you're referring to, is a different type than the one i just mentioned? Cornbread is usually very sweet and has a higher sugar content than regular bread. It tastes like cake mixed with honey. |
Is patience jonathan from ondo state or why is FSU spamming the forum in an attempt to divert discussions from the matter at hand? You're in love with bianca and dont want anybody discussing her? You have a crush on patience and dont want anybody putting sand in your garri? You've already calculated wetin you go take your own share of the nigerian cake, do? ![]() |
@ poster Doesnt matter even if you accessed your email the pm was sent to. There'll be nothing there. |
^most of your post sounds unnecessarily bogus. Nairaland USED to have a pm function which worked fine- did anyone say they were receiving spam via pm because that's news to me. |
As per working for different organizations within the same time frame: I'm sure the issue will be explained at some point in time whenever someone gets around to it. Like i pointed out earlier, the appointment is probably based on bianca's own. Seems like a little rivalry going on there between the tribes. Of coure i could be wrong! |
Btw is this going to affect agege bread? |
I'm sure the "why" is linked to bianca's ambassadorial appointment. Is this a trend now. |
if the govt is worried about diabetes then wheat products arent the only foodstuffs they should go after. |
matosan: Is it really advisable for a christain (d girl) to marry a muslim ( d guy)?not really, but people will still do it anyway. It's of course easier if one of them converts to the other's religion- eg the guy goes to church with the wife. the real problem is 98% of the time, the man will eventually become a practicing muslim, and by practicing i mean fundamentalist. Can it work?some have. Given d present situation in naija is it possiblewhat's impossible about it? ![]() |
dayokanu: After boiling the meat its just bland, no pepper or oil on it. You would now add it to the stew and let it cook togetheris this what you're serving your girlfriends? ![]() good thing you can sweet talk them so they dont mind. |
in addition, i dont think this is the same thing as eating meat first or last during a meal. totally different context. the bone of contention here is people eating more than what's considered their fair share of meat. eg the man getting 4 pieces instead of one or two, or the woman doing the same. thereby shortening the rations of the other members of the household. |
i'm not sure the topic isnt being misinterpreted. i personally do not know anyone who finishes a pot of meat while cooking. the most the majority do, is taste some of the meat to find out if the seasoning is enough or if its done. the op clearly opened the thread in response to the lady who reported her husband for eating food she cooked. (ie meat). She had issues with him wanting more meat like oliver twist, hence the problem. now, imo, these types of things are what separate ajebutas from ajepakos, in nigeria. No offence- i'm an ajepako myself- but an ajebuta would typically be used to having an abundance of food in the house, as well as being full after meals. if the worry (in the nigerian context) seems to be the person who asks for more food after a meal, or who snacks on meat in between meals/isnt satisfied with the portion he was served, will turn into an armed robber due to his insatiable greed and uncontrollable appetite, then i dont know if folks are speaking from experience, so i cant say for sure if this is true. |
