but there's no need for anyone to start to try to cook up fake stories to drive traffic to nl though.

let bygones be bygones.

the current nl is ok for the current set of nlers i guess.

you folks are small pikins wey never see scandal o.

back in the day, we had some serious shenanigans here- no holds barred, intensely deep stuff.

20,000+ views in maybe 2 days or so. You try to post on the thread, but have to keep updating and reposting because about ten or twenty people are trying to do so at the same time.

Its good nl is tamer right now.

those kinds of threads can raise people's bp.

and all over what? Love nwatintin.

oh, just remembered something about some guy who they said was toasting different ladies.

big brouhaha then, from years ago.

but i think it was probably a fake thread.
Nairaland General › Re: Top Ten Memories On The Romance Section by tpia5: 6:02pm On Jul 02, 2012
dont think there are any per se.

but those who feel there are, should go ahead and post them.

the top scandals/controversies were off nl and in other sections.

nothing really played out here in romance though i could be wrong.

If its done with taste, it could be a class act and ok.

However, you have to have a knowledge of colours and the suitable combinations or else you risk a colour riot.

I think neon is what some people are experimenting with these days.

@ seun

the focus is not on their crimes but on what you are enabling here on nl.

being an atheist doesnt mean you have to directly espouse everything that is antisocial and inimical to others.

I'd like to introduce you to an atheist called tai solarin who is relatively well known in nigeria.

he founded a school called mayflower which was renowned for its highly principled curricula and standards back in the day.

This school produced quite a few nigerians of note who are very much respected in their various fields.

try to learn from him.

Don't worry, you will be getting plenty proof soon enough
you chicken.

This is a situation of some critical importance here.

Lately, your site has become an avenue for criminals and their agents to plan their attacks and signal to each other when they're about to do so.

I dont believe nl was this bad before- at least not when I joined.

I've been actively calling out the criminals i've seen who roam freely here without fear of being reprimanded.

Beaf is one of them. Pleep is another.

This is not a smear campaign and neither is it anything personal, but the way these miscreants are emboldened on nairaland, is something which imo, should be handled directly by appropriate authorities.

A word is enough for the wise.

He who has ears to hear, should hear.

Exodus 7

8 The Lord said to Moses and Aaron,

9 “When Pharaoh says to you, ‘Perform a miracle, ’ then say to Aaron, ‘Take your staff and throw it down before Pharaoh,’ and it will become a snake.”

10 So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did just as the Lord commanded. Aaron threw his staff down in front of Pharaoh and his officials, and it became a snake.

11 Pharaoh then summoned wise men and sorcerers, and the Egyptian magicians also did the same things by their secret arts:

12 Each one threw down his staff and it became a snake. But Aaron’s staff swallowed up their staffs.

13 Yet Pharaoh’s heart became hard and he would not listen to them, just as the Lord had said.
what did the snake symbolize for pharaoh, and what was its status in egypt?

now i remember the pharaoh's crown typically has a snake symbol in the middle of it.

Exodus 4

1 Moses answered, “What if they do not believe me or listen to me and say, ‘The Lord did not appear to you’?”

2 Then the Lord said to him, “What is that in your hand?”

“A staff,” he replied.

3 The Lord said, “Throw it on the ground.”

Moses threw it on the ground and it became a snake, and he ran from it. 4 Then the Lord said to him, “Reach out your hand and take it by the tail.” So Moses reached out and took hold of the snake and it turned back into a staff in his hand. 5 “This,” said the Lord, “is so that they may believe that the Lord, the God of their fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob—has appeared to you.”
i find it very interesting that the snake, which is a typical symbol of paganism, was used by God as a sign for Moses.
