though technically speaking, its actually a misconception to say yorubas dont get angry.

they do, but generally not as much at outsiders as at themselves.

wow, so hot in here.

didnt read the whole thread yet- just the last two pages or so.

negro, wetin nah, na wa- who offended you. Its been long since i saw a yoruba person get this angry. Though i'm still not sure if you're yoruba or beninoid though. Just saying.

i've met a few yorubas who intensely dislike igbos [usually its the other way round- i'm rarely surprised to meet igbos/others who dislike yorubas. Quite routine], and i must say, it was a very strange experience sha- i almost felt like i was on another planet because it was something i'd never seen before save in the occasional crockpot every now and then. Not in an educated person, so the encounter really left an impression.

rhino- which kain s.ex tourism you dey do ke? abi how many bl***kos you get sef. E reach 20?

op

it always helps to read more than just any verses in question, if you're indeed a genuine enquirer.

here's the rest of that passage, and the context:

What then shall we say, brothers and sisters? When you come together, each of you has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. Everything must be done so that the church may be built up.

27 If anyone speaks in a tongue, two—or at the most three—should speak, one at a time, and someone must interpret.

28 If there is no interpreter, the speaker should keep quiet in the church and speak to himself and to God.

29 Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said.

30 And if a revelation comes to someone who is sitting down, the first speaker should stop.

31 For you can all prophesy in turn so that everyone may be instructed and encouraged.

32 The spirits of prophets are subject to the control of prophets.

33 For God is not a God of disorder but of peace—as in all the congregations of the Lord’s people.

34 Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says.

35 If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.

36 Or did the word of God originate with you? Or are you the only people it has reached?

37 If anyone thinks they are a prophet or otherwise gifted by the Spirit, let them acknowledge that what I am writing to you is the Lord’s command.

38 But if anyone ignores this, they will themselves be ignored.

39 Therefore, my brothers and sisters, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues. 40 But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way.
please note the context in which speak is used here.

as far as i'm concerned, to me personally its not necessarily a big issue, but i understand why others would be worried.

btw, didnt someone raise this topic previously?

and what's so unusual about the nodding black in this scenario:

We are the same people. All white, Asian, Latino, and black people on this aircraft are the same.”

I gladly nodded.
always gladly nodding at being allowed to be part of the human race, while every other non-black feels this way:

“And yet I feel superior,” he smiled fatalistically
abeg, i'm not getting into the middle of this other african wahala even if nigerians have joined them.

these days black men measure their self worth not through academic achievement but by the number and variety of women they feel they can wow.

that's the long and short of it.

e nor concern me o.

the women nko? small differential. But they learn better or is it that they're left holding the heavier end of the stick and so cant get away with as many things as men.

and as per academic achievement- the internet has generally made people dumber, not smarter.

Romance › Re: My Pastor Said I Can't Marry Him. by tpia5: 6:44am On Jan 29, 2012
yes she cant marry him, cos its either the guy is a dunkard, a smoker, an alcoholic or a womaniser. Let the love be stronger than the of a mother to her child, it ll never be right to a pastor.
In my church, you dare not bring a non-believer. If you so much love the person, change him/her BEFORE marriage otherwise such a person would leave to regret.
well, cant fault any of that. The line has to be drawn somewhere.

people will still marry and date whoever they want anyway.

as per being a smoker, drunkard, alcoholic or womaniser- a woman who isnt into any of these will definitely have it rough if she attempts a relationship with men who are.

^^ hey, I'm your senior by at least 20 years, so no "girl" here. You can say tpia@ or madam. And who said I'm female, since my profile has an m.

there's no conflict I'm aware of in the examples you mentioned. Unlike the middle eastern crisis which is ongoing.

I specified the difference between holding a personal religious belief and taking up arms on account of that belief.

btw, are you yoruba? You dont really seem so. Middle belt perhaps?
