Is it true that Usman Dan Fodio, Buhari, Shagari, Yaradua, Atiku, Abacha, Ahmadu Bello, Dangote, Balewa, Sanusi Lamido are all Fulanis?you mean you cant tell who is fulani on this list? ![]() |
please put the thread in joke section. things are getting tense right now. |
it's no wonder that Nollywood love scenes are tragici can imagine ![]() i saw a clip once of ramsey noah in what was supposed to be a love scene. the bed was moving and that's about it. two logs of wood were somewhere on top of it, but i cant say for sure if they were moving the bed or the bed was moving them. anyway, nothing spoil. hollywood is there to spice up that angle. |
btw whatever happened to that zimbabwe guy who used to be a regular poster. after a while he seemed to be exclusively into p.orn and that was the end of his nl stint i think. probably went for rehab or is too busy waanking away to have time for this forum anymore ![]() |
Can any of you even name a movie Thandie has been in?she was with will smith in pursuit of happyness [that was the first time i heard of her and i may have even posted a review here- not sure]. then she acted with chiwetel in 2012 as the president's daughter. not sure why she and chiwetel are following each other around. they're certainly no julia roberts and richard gere, imo. if dem wan marry make dem marry- or is one of them not getting the message. |
^let's agree to hold differing opinions then. |
^stop being in such a hurry to type on your keyboard ![]() you totally misread my post. |

The Kite Runner, a book based on a story of 2 kids in Afghanistan, best seller by Khaled Hassini, as soon as it was turned into a movie, they decided to have it be in English, guess what? the movie BOMBEDit did? ![]() are you sure about that? the movie seemed well put together and was nominated for a couple of awards. It's banned in afghanistan however. though i think the book is possibly more moving but the movie didnt seem that bad. |
Olanna, the daughter of well-to-do city-dwellers; and Richard, a white ex-patriot originally from Englandwell, since thandie newton has a british father. . . . . . . . maybe it was felt she could relate to the context and role. although caroline ekanem danjuma and shan george also have british fathers but maybe arent A listers, or whatever level chiwetel is on? did olanna have any children with richard? |
btw does anyone want to give a brief synopsis of the storyline again. . . . . . olanna is the main character, right? ![]() is she light or dark. |
and yes, connections matter most of the time, back home. in most fields, not only healthcare. |
^^applying for a residency position doesnt automatically mean you'll be accepted for the position. reason why it's advisable to apply to more than one place. regardless if you're overseas or in nigeria. people also hear funny things abroad too, if you dont know. let's stop acting as if everything is only nigeria. i'm not against people seeking greener pastures, but it seems there's a general mindset which is sort of one track. |
However, the majority of Igbos are dark brown in complexion.Igbo people do not look like the bi-racial Thandie Newton. Thandie Newton is an accomplished and talented actress in her own right. However, she is not Igbo, she is not Nigerian, and she does not physically resemble Igbo women in the slightest.thandie newton w/ chiwetel https://i47.tinypic.com/ac7d5l.jpg she doesnt really look igbo, true, but maybe an igbo woman could be found who looks like her. |
cheikh:
You should have left that be. We've constantly drilled it in her head, try to educate her about it but she would not listen.
just keep me up to date with whichever way the wind is blowing at any particular point in time. not really interested in digging up threads now. |
Antonio banderas(hispanic) played an arab in 13th warriorantonio banderas is a spaniard, not hispanic. so, yes he could have arab forebears. |
Its quite possible the igbos in the picture no longer go home and might not even consider themselves igbo anymore. Some northern tribes do bear a resemblance with igbos- who knows how that came about. Just guessing here. But i think an islamic procession of igbos in kano, has to have more to the story than what we're being told so far. Unless they're doing whatever it is they're involved in, for a reason. |
maybe the movie is being financed by south africa or somewhere like that, hence the decision. thandie newton's movies tend to be sharply defined along colour lines, with blacks of course where they usually are at the top. nigerian choices could have been sophie okonedo or the igbo lady who was in a movie with that white south african actress based in the US. Both names skip me for now. they could also have used a new, upcoming actress and showcased new talent. but na them sabi sha. i only read the book once and cant really remember the whole story. the movie could be for a white or foreign audience, not a nigerian one. and the choice of a mixed lead actress could be because igbos are generally considered to be mixed. although someone could be dark and still mixed sha, but that's not something most people consider, and especially not in most movies. |
NALS i mean. ![]() |
NNLS not another lessbian stalker. ![]() when others are being stalked by hot guys ![]() why me o lord. |

No biggie. Since you've decided to stay with him then just keep asking nl for advice every now and then when he annoys you or you annoy him, whatever. |
Nothing wrong with finding someone a little too complex to understand. No biggie. We cant all be the same as i always say. |
DaRapture:shut up and stop following me around. am i preventing you from cooking up stories? ![]() and while you're at it, why not trace, share and discover the other 3/4 of your non-african ancestry or is it by force to whine everywhere. |
if you check the footnotes [niv]for 1 tim 2:12, it says "or over her husband". footnote for 1 tim 2:11 says "or wife" so the context could be for a home base, ie outside the church gathering, generally speaking. there's actually no specific mention of church assembly or church gathering in that particular chapter. just saying, and doesnt mean i'm for or against. like i said, i'm indifferent. |
ak47mann na lie you dey lie oh. speaking yoruba doesnt mean someone is yoruba. i think we all know that by now. |
