they bombed an MFM somewhere in the north. |
true, talking about it may be therapeutic for you, but you also run the risk of harboring unforgiveness against your ex. imo, refusing to forgive him will only make you keep reliving the abuse over and over again. i could be wrong of course. but try to remember the people around you now, and consider them too. If you keep on rehashing bitter memories, you'll eventually take it out on them as well. i dont think the op is saying people should stay in marriages where they are being severely abused. |
Very interesting write up. |
Deols are you saying the moors (some of whom were ummayads who lived during Mohammed's time), did not have an understanding of Islam? |
Music is hardwired into the human soul, so i'm not sure how this zero music policy is going to work out. If the poster had meant he was switching to Islamic music only, that's still more understandable (in a way) than this cold turkey style. Sound is music. Are you going to block your ears when you hear birds singing or the wind blowing. When you hear water splashing or at night, in the silence of a cloudless sky when the stars are shining brightly. You dont know that silence is itself music? For technology, when watching tv nko? Or will you give up television as well. Anyway, dont turn into a robot because only a mechanical being has no music. |
Just last week i warned about the possibility of bomb attacks in nigeria, following the fighting in iraq. I may have been right or wrong, but these days one really cant afford to ignore signs of the times. I'm not sure what's the way forward now because this is clearly a global war being fought on a local scale. And i really dont think this is a safe time to be in the north though admittedly nowhere is safe and its only God who can provide safety. I have a quick question- the church looked new. Does anyone know when it was built? |
I'm not that familiar with the church but i've heard about them. |
My personal view, not a muslim one. @ ayorbameeh didnt notice you're one of the yuppie spellers. Eyin ayoungeh. |
If a woman says that's what she wants, then as an adult she's free to make her own decisions of course, and bear the consequences, which could include having a reputation and difficulty in finding a marrige partner although left to me i'd say any man engaging in mutah should also marry women who are into mutah. |
Of course i doubt any of the guys involved would be in it for the long term. The point is, imo, as long as its not considered mandatory then the woman doesnt have to agree or put herself in any situation which would allow for that. Might be hard i suppose- dont know for sure. Now, if someone proposes mutah to a woman, is there any penalty if she refuses? Is she allowed to refuse and what would be the man's reaction if she does so. Would he be angry? |
@ topic it seems the goal is a 100% divorce rate. That's my impression. |
Debrief i have to agree- you should try to forgive your ex husband. Moreso if you're carrying a baby, you dont want all that negative energy in your thoughts. Focus on the present and let the past remain in the past. Just thank God for what you have now, and for what he allowed you to experience and overcome before. Life is a journey. |
Amazing. |
Where's the fellow who was typing jazz over the matter? |
I didnt know they published books. |
Those books look very interesting i must say. @ wide ears thanks for bringing them to my attention. |
Has the op considered adoption? ![]() Unless you're overseas, its a bit risky raising a child without a father. And why have you given up on men? Granted sometimes its easier to do that but with God and prayer all things are possible. Have you prayed? |
Traditionally most of those things apply as well- especially the parents' or families' blessing. But civil law allows for the absence of those, so it depends on the couple's situation i think. Just speaking generally and nothing to do with the topic. In addition i just want to ask if "Islamically" should actually be a word. Seems to me like "In Islam" is the proper phraselogy. "Islamically" sounds like all these young kids adding funny syllables to their names eg ade becomes ahdeh, lolu turns to lorlu, fehinti is changed to phehintee, etc etc. |
If physical beauty is important to you then you shouldnt string her along imo. |
@ topic you take as many insult insults as are necessary for you to get the green card. Abi will the insults be printed on it? ![]() |
@ topic i would not knowingly eat snake but if i accidentally did, then it should be in the sewer by now. I'll soon start eating only fish sef. |
Cannibalism is a form of madness. Thread title is asking about dog. No need to derail the thread. |
. |
^More grass to your snout. |
Not sure why the op is on nairaland and not ghanaweb.com. |
Does anyone have any evidence he actually died? ![]() If so, then the thread title should be "Man follows through on prior threat to kill himself". And if people were aware he threatened to kill himself, what efforts did they make to reach out to him and why are they suddenly opening threads saying he said he would kill himself. Lame storyline imo. Not well thought out at all. Anyway, will check the link later. Cant open it now. All the goats wey dey follow my posts everywhere, more grass to your snouts. |
Or find a routine that can help take your mind off it - eg farming, gardening, assisting the less priviledged, etc. I know in nigeria its fairly common for someone to be rich today and poor tomorrow. |
I often think about poverty too sometimes, but this is because i grew up poor i think. Also, i did not have it easy even as an adult. However, if the fear is becoming debilitating to the extent that its interfering with your daily life, then you might need to get help. |
I doubt there are enough cows to match the demand for meat. I wouldnt knowingly eat donkey but if i unknowingly ate it, no biggie. It still chews the cud and has hooves. Besides, i eat bush meat anyway, minus monkey which i hope i havent unknowingly eaten. In any case, everything that goes in will still come out at the other end, so no biggie. Some eat camels, others eat donkey. Whatever provides much needed protein- not a big deal. |
I need some contracts though. @ topic. |
