City on a Hill- its Christmas time [flash=400,300] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9H_AfUfbUDk?version=3&hl=en_US"[/flash] |
the reason is more important than the season. could have been march, june or september- doesnt matter. |
was looking for general christmas songs [in any language] but these are also good i guess. |
there's a song about something like this. . . . . . . cant recall the title. |
Imagine someone saying something is wrong with the poster because he wants to prepare beans.is something not wrong with the poster? ![]() just drink garri already- no need to even cook beans. |
Oy. “[Vanessa] estimated that he was averaging at least 10 affairs a year with different women over the course of their marriage and puts his number of conquests at 105”.lord have mercy!!! |
Yorubas are accommodating to a fault. This particular stereotype [about being overly liberal] is true. The dirty stuff is a lie spread by sick internet trolls. Nigerians as a whole can be considered dirty- trying to pin it on yoruba is an embarassing capital fail on the part of the gossip spreader. |

Its only by His mercies. . . . . . . . . . . |
@ your mutah post on the thread where someone asked a question about breastfeeding (fill in the blanks), you yourself referred to an incident where you said the prophet asked a woman to suckle someone in order to make him haram. Just saying- not trying to start an argument here but i think your analogy is a bit off. And some nigerian muslims do practice it, although i dont know if its as a religious or traditional habit. Having wives in different places you frequent isnt unknown among rich nigerians and nowadays, diasporan ones irrespective of religion i must add. |
going by casual observation, i think lagosshia's brand of Islam might be closer to the initial or first phase [of the religion], during its early stages. He uses the Bible [actually, the Torah] to explain core Islamic practices and beliefs- this, imo is more reflective of the period when Arab Christians and Jewish Arabs were essential to the formation of Islam [then the new religion]. now, nobody should read me wrong or take this as a stand for or against any particular belief system-I'm Christian, not muslim, so the specifics being discussed really dont concern me unless boko haram or one of their affiliates starts something .but his overall exegesis is more reminiscent of a specific period. Others are going with later phases of Islam. as i mentioned on another thread, there are different periods during which the caliphate reflected some key characteristics associated with different time frames and value systems. |
I dont understand what the op is complaining about. If your wife unwinds in front of the tv after the stress of the day's work, then join her there occasionally. As for her serving your food then not staying to watch you eat it- what does that mean? You want to make conversation with her but she doesnt hang around long enough to do so? Take the food and join her in front of the tv nah. And have you ever tried asking her about her day at work. Maybe that's why she turns to the tv instead if you're not giving her emotional support. Anyway, maybe i need to reread yor post because i cant say i get it. Tv can be very addictive, true- especially this nollywood stuff- but you have to find creative ways to get your message across. For now i think joining her in front of the tv might be the best option. If a scene gets x rated then you do the same as long as you have some privacy (that goes without saying). Or put one in the room or something. Or record some shows. You know- brainstorm. |
Dare2think i went through your posts and you've been consistently against oyedepo long before now. Was that video of your making? @ all of you long time atheists, satanists, hedonists or whatever- your methods are to underhand to be taken seriously. Thanks and bye. If you like abuse me oh!!!! And just for the record- i'm not saying people should start beating up others at will but the church is seriously too lax today and hopefully somebody will learn from this incident. |
dont some people wasting their time on this thread and in religion section, need to be off ogling n.aked women elsewhere? ![]() |
Link? ![]() However, i think in the past JH did not espouse higher education either. I could be wrong though. |
The iraq issue is being discussed in muslim section, i believe. Lord have mercy. We should watch out for nigeria though- boko haram might also strike as well Other places too. |
Una still dey for oyedepo matter? ![]() E e pe nbe. |
The schools involved can get their accreditation back within 12 months if they follow the original accrediting guidelines. |
I checked both avicenna (for plab) and the nigerian medical and dental council websites, and there's actually no reason for the panicking going on. The suspension is due to overcrowding or overadmitting students. Its very embarassing to find UNN in particualr on that list- they've had their med school since 1969 or so. Their admission quota is supposed to be about 100 or so- certainly not more than 150 or 180. I just looked it up some minutes ago. |
and shouldnt nigeria have universities solely for medical professionals by now? ![]() what kind of slowness is this? |
[quote author=Yeske! link=topic=830059.msg9812545#msg9812545 date=1324499074]MB;BS Unilorin no dey carry last, so glad to parade that certificate around.[/quote]it's ok. though not as tough as some other ones like ife. |
sartorius:what's ifumsite. no, i dont think i am, else i'd know what that means. |
and i wish many of these nigerian students would stop typing in shorthand and upgrade their english skills before more universities and other disciplines get suspended. our fathers and grandfathers didnt have all these amenities [books, media etc] we have now, yet they still wrote passable english. |
“The decision only applies to students who graduated from those medical schools after the MDCN suspended their accreditation,” Day saidthe dates in question are dec 10, 2010 for some of the universities, and april 1 2010 for others. |
this is going to increase the pressure on the remaining medical schools because prospective students will head for those places now. OAU is already one of the toughest med schools in the country. [Unijos] lost their accreditation earlier in the year. Reason? Admitting 600+ students for Medicine in 100 level whereas they are accredited to train only 100 doctors each year courtesy of an admissions racket where people pay for admission into Medical school.however @ topic, graduates of the affected schools can still practice medicine elsewhere besides the UK, right. And they're not barred from practicing within nigeria itself i suppose. the universities in question need to work on getting their accreditation back at least in nigeria. Dont know about the private schools, but its imperative for the public ones, imo. The UK is trying to reduce the number of foreign trained health professionals working in the country, or looking for jobs in the country, so i cant say i'm surprised. and neither is it anything to panic over, imo. |
Nigeria has phones so surely a homesick nigerian can call somebody there if he or she is homesick. Also, he or she can find his or her country men or women on the web? Or one of the innumerable nigerian associations overseas. |
Besides the usual anti-christian crowd that is. |
The attention is because people feel they (or the churches) shouldnt have bought jets. |
