Why is Okonjo so popular among some people on nairaland? am still trying to figure this out.If its out of ethnic pride then i think Oby Esekwesili (super-smart) is by far a better trump card for the chest beaters than Mrs. world bank.

Islam › Re: The Shia Versus Sunni Debates Are Getting Very Ridiculous by tpia5: 7:25pm On Dec 24, 2011
a write up about this topic:

Most Sunnis and Shiites are liberal, although not by western standards.  In peaceful and prosperous times, there is little conflict between them.  But both have more extreme factions as well.
map of sunni and shia countries by percentage. Sunni is green, Shia blue:

Food › Re: Lovers Of Bread And Tea by tpia5: 6:03pm On Dec 24, 2011
dunking bread in private is ok. Doing it in public is not.

same thing applies to eating an orange. With curtains drawn, doors locked and nobody there, eat the whole thing including the juicy inside (not the peel though).

When in public, or if other people are present, just suck the juice only and throw away the fiber.

Ufeolorun:
You may disagree with my point of view
but you don't have to be really silly about it

The point is most of them have well planned cities or city and I don't care what their villages look like.

Ten years of telecom in naija ordinary voice call is still a big issue talkless of heavy data communication.
Nepa nko o? but we arrogantly assert and look down on better performing countries relative to available resources. Go look at top university rÀnking in Africa and you will find unis from some of this 'small,no-do-good countries beating the almighty Nigeria(Ougadougou,Dareesalam,Nairobi, even Sudan.Olodumore o!)

Like I said earlier sata is naive and needs to be cautioned but Nigerians in Zambia should play local politics smartly

The topic of my sermon: oh! squarepants!stop the condescending response, reactions to things or issues concerning other African countries. grin
please move there.

end of story!

If the bread has a thick texture it doesnt break off in the tea. Even if it does, its all good.

I even dip agege bread in water sometimes- really brings out the taste.
Food › Re: Is Anything Wrong With Cooking Beans On Christmas Day? by tpia5: 3:34pm On Dec 24, 2011
Dont know about yall but when i was growing up in nigeria we had different kinds of food for christmas.

Rice, poundo, different kinds of stew, etc. We cooked our ase, shared it with various friends and family, and also received their own ase in return.

So it was more or less a tasting festival so to speak. We sampled different dishes and commented on the quality- most times they were all good because we're talking of serious cooks and cooking here.

For those who celebrate their own festivals by eating beans- hey its your choice . Just eat your beans quietly and stop disturbing others, thanks.

The likes of afam4ever are perpetual whiners who have minimal exposure.

Thus they see everything as better than their village since the village is all they know.
