i dont know why some people like to do i too know.

just because you cant afford a place doesnt make it any of the things bad belle folks are yapping about here.

renters want to live away from the hustle and bustle of mainstream lagos and they can afford it.

so? huh

when i react now, some will say i'm the one with the problem.

unneccessary provocation of others is the type of thing that gets you killed in some places.

Romance › Re: Guys Can You Seduce A Girl? by tpia5: 12:26am On Sep 03, 2011
Women can seduce men faster than men can seduce women
true that.

most men confuse sex talk with seduction.

seduction takes a lot more practice and hard work as well as serious planning and patience.

not a lot of guys need to use any of that in order to get a girl.

Culture › Re: Which Lineage Should A Mixed Child Take? by tpia5: 12:03am On Sep 03, 2011
its not a big deal, sheesh.

in nigeria, a mixed child takes the father's side.

in a matrilineal society, the child goes with the mother.

in nigeria, you only go with your mother if you were raised in her culture, meaning for whatever reason your father wasnt available either physically or emotionally.

for mixed race children with nigerian fathers, you go with both sides.

na wa.

seems people need to address this problem of the increasingly bad attitudes being nurtured between the sexes, mainly fueled by the high emigration rate of nigerians and not helped by nollywood behaviour and productions.

every negative diasporan behaviour is being planted in the nigerian culture.

Romance › Re: 40 Year Old Single Woman: Getting Desperate by tpia5: 11:32pm On Sep 02, 2011
She's single at 38, so you can imagine the panic (praying and fasting) around my family members. She's a really nice lady, not bad-looking, very fit body and has been involved in two relationships. Yes, 2 relationships in her whole life. Those two relationships did not work out. The first guy she dated left the country and the second relationship ended because she realized that the man was married. I don't think she has high expectations really. All she wants is a sensitive man because heartbreaks scare the poo out of her.

But even at that, am sure somebody will just be quick to judge her probably saying that she's choosy, she had too much shakara when she was younger, she had it coming. . . . blah blah blah. . . . while that's not really the case.
hmm, this is serious.

maybe she could have dated more [sometimes you have to kiss a lot of frogs before finding your prince], but i know for a fact that some women, if they find out they've been inadverdently dating a married man, get kind of scared and lay off having relationships for a while. Some women, not all.

as per the first boyfriend who travelled out- yes, many single nigerian men who go overseas, marry where they are. It can be hard sometimes especially if the man is looking for paper.

no offence, but i think your aunt might have to look inward a bit, at the type of men she's attracted to, and why. The low frequency of her relationships might be a pointer, and no, i'm not endorsing sluttiness either.

after all, he came from a reputable family.

2.
According to the text, they managed to turn his daughter against him

more from wikileaks

The fundamentalist group even targeted the daughter of General Buhari for indoctrination into their views. The cable writer noted: “They attempted Gen. Buharis daughter but we kept it secret and we organized and tackle then, but they are after her to date," the message said.

The text writer also referred to a web chat room called Nigerian Muslim Network in which Abdulmuttalab was revealed to have burning desire for General Buhari’s daughter.

With reference to Abdulmuttalab’s background, the writer said he was “groomed” by Yakubu Kano, Maigari and Sheik Gumi.

It was further noted in the cell phone message Abdulmuttalab’s extremist tendencies started early, observing that “he left a mark” in his British School in Lome (BSL), in Togo. For further information about that, he the writer gave the name of Mr. Ian Sayer, the school principal whom he said was in the United Kingdom. It is unclear if Mr. Sayer had retired at that point, or was merely on vacation in the UK.

The principal target of the fundamentalists was Dr Mahmood Tukur. According to the text, they managed to turn his daughter against him and she later married Ibrahim Maigari Ahmadu.

neither is west/central africa the only training ground for rebels and militants.

some of their leaders received training in somalia.

others no doubt are being indoctrinated elsewhere.

Libya rebel commander plays down Islamist past

TRIPOLI, Libya (AP) — The rebels' Tripoli military commander, a former leader of an Islamic militant group that sent fighters to Iraq and Afghanistan, insisted Friday that the new Libya will shun extremism and won't become a breeding ground for terrorism.

The commander, Abdel Hakim Belhaj, said he was detained in 2004 in Malaysia and sent to a secret prison in Thailand where he claimed he was tortured by CIA agents. Then he was sent to Libya and jailed for seven years by Moammar Gadhafi's regime.

But Belhaj, 45, played down his Islamist past, seeking to allay concerns about his emergence as a prominent figure in the Western-backed Libyan opposition movement.

He said he had been blindfolded, hung from the wall and beaten on his back in Thailand but insisted he holds no grudges against the West because of the shared goal of ousting Gadhafi.

"Revenge doesn't motivate me personally," he told The Associated Press in an interview at his headquarters at the sprawling military airport in central Tripoli.

Belhaj was a leader in the now dissolved Libyan Islamic Fighting Group, which was deemed a terror group by the U.S. But he said he refused to join Al-Qaida because he disagreed with its ideology of global jihad, or holy war, and wanted to focus on ridding Libya of Gadhafi.

He lauded the West for supporting the rebels, saying that "the U.N. Security Council and the whole world stood by us in the cause and have helped us to get rid of Gadhafi."

Gadhafi, in courting the West in recent years, has insisted al-Qaida would gain influence in Libya unless he remained in power.

Belhaj dismissed those concerns.

"We never have and never will support what they call terrorism," he said.

"Libya is a moderate Muslim country," he said. "We call and hope for a civil country that is ruled by the law, which we were not allowed to enjoy under Gadhafi. The religious identity of the country will be left up to the people to choose."
