There's no reference to female gender in angelic activitiesthere's one reference here, although they are not angels: zech 5 9 Then lifted I up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came out two women, and the wind was in their wings; for they had wings like the wings of a stork: and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heaven. |
Joagbaje: I should ask you same question. There's no reference to female gender in angelic activities. Female is only require in reproduction. All the angels are "he,him in bible reference.is this opinion supported in the bible? |
angels are asexual but typically have the appearance of males. |
kennyz8: what about AJAYIThe op knowledge no reach there. |
OP YOU ARE USELESS! YOU LEFT ALL THE OLD PAGAN YORUBA NAMES LIKE [b]OGUNSEYI, SANGOLEYE, IFASEYI, IFADOJA, IFABEMIGA, IYAIBEJI, IYAMI, OSUNLADE, ESUBIYI, etc. YOU ARE BIASED!
Calm down, the list is not a comprehensive one, just a compilation from the op and his or her crew.Common yoruba names like balogun were also left out. Obasanjo sef no dey there. |
femi4: Peter means rock: Upon this "Rock" will I built my churchI was wondering how he or she came up with that. |
Some people might end up pulling names out of a hat. I pity dem pikin, but oh well. Its all good. |
NoProphecy: If you think that Satan, witches, goblins, trolls, wizards, or Jinn are real, get psychiatric help ASAP! Get a trained professional into your head, not more myths into your "heart."Bro, they are, and not the esoteric ones we are shown in the media either. They and their works are far more insidious than what we see in the entertainment circuit. However, why are you on the thread since it holds no interest for you? |
Viscy: and what about it?You should comment on that as well. |
smartchoice: Oga independent doctor....outside the influence of the Governor!Ok, they are bringing in a panel of doctors to assess the situation. Happy now? |
hollandis: No wonder most Nigeria men find it challenging adapting abroad .I know of Nigeria woman who separated from her Nigeria husband in north carolina and started forking another guy the subsequent week .She didn't divorce ooooo.I like her for that and encouraged her sef.Nigeria men are beasts .look @ the ridiculous statements from all the men .No wonder their wives separate from them over here.Nigeria women .Most nigerian women living in nigeria are living in bondage .Hypersexuality is a symptom of manic behaviour, especially in women. So dont be so quick to admire the woman in your example, until you provide more details of what actually happened. Lord have mercy. |
Did you miss the part about the doctor joining the meeting? |
specialguest: I have resolved to buy the tomatoes, take it home and wash properly then use a blender to grind it. .so whats the point of the thread? you just felt like opening one? |
What about satan and his special tool, money? |
boay: Thanks for the comments, but please I will love to have reasons for whichever side you stand. Not everything must have a reason dear. Sometimes you need to stop getting paranoia over what other people are doing, if someone wants to go for part time studies, that really does not concern you and neither does it prevent you from going for the same. If however studying is not your thing for whatever reason, then the bible says rejoice with those who rejoice, try to be supportive of good things so blessing can come your way, abi you be satanist ni? |
caseless: d tpia@ gal, is she against polygamy ;in order word, marrying more than one?Is this post for me, deols or your fiancees? Abi deols is included in the latter? I dont see how you made a connection between me and your personal life? |
caseless: and u think as it was possible for the keepers of tha ad to preserve this, others shld hav theirs displayed too? U shld hav taken ur time to weigh the civilization in turkey then and other muslim dominated areas in the past.Must i spell everything out for you and your blackberry? The reason the op posted this ad was to prove imams dont necessarily have to have multiple wives. My rejoinder to him was the ad should be viewed on a cultural basis, not a general one. In nigeria especially, most imams are polygamous and this is seen as a requirement of their deen, anything else would look strange because polygamy is ingrained in the culture. In 16th century turkey, this type of ad for an imam might not seem out of place because the notion of an imam being monogamous, would not seem unusual to the people. Do you now get it or not? If not then waka pass, thanks for giving me your attention, bye. |
the Ottomans did not start in the 19th century. We are talking of a 700 year old empire.the point was to show its a cultural context. Culture does not always vanish overnight even after conquest, it leaves its mark or imprint on subsequent cultures which follow it. Your assertions are very simplistic.seems you do not want any other explanation besides the one you're proferring, which in this case, is subject to scrutiny. |
why exactly are you separating turkey from europe culturally? because they are muslim (and by implication, had polygamous sultans)? yes, while that is true, its rather simplistic to view them only in that context. |
topic i dont believe so. why do you feel it should, @ op. is there a link to crime or something? |
what candour said. they just have more pressure on them, or is it responsibility, thats all. however, some of them cant cope with the pressure or responsibility, agreed. for those who can, they generally do well. |
PoohBeer: Naijaryders . . . . . is more of a communitytrue sha, but they were very clique-ish. |
just checked and it seems the forum is nowhere to be found. what happened? It used to be the in thing back in the day (much more owanbe than nl even) they just suddenly went incommunicado some years ago and now they appear to be totally off the web. all of them don settle down ni? |
dryakson: In Nigeria, you will be sacked if you can't make 2M in less than 1year on your office.very likely sha. |
maybe there are other guys in the equation? the ease and speed with which the word darling was dropped on the thread, would suggest that. |
where is the man now? |

tbaba this excerpt from a 19th century writer, gives an idea of marriage practices among ottoman turks of that century. the western perception was what you typed in your post, namely the rulers were known for harems. However in actual fact, it was mainly some of the richer people who indulged in such, it wasnt the norm per se. http://books.google.com/books?id=hVw4AAAAMAAJ&pg=PA147&dq=monogamy+in+turkey&hl=en&sa=X&ei=URF9UoboKPLKsASDj4GoAQ&ved=0CC0Q6AEwAA#v=onepage&q=monogamy%20in%20turkey&f=false there is a also a footnote on that page stating among 40,000 muslims in crete, there wasnt one single case of polygamy. so, my point is, polygamy is not necessarily an automatic assumption for all cultures. some cultures are polygamous while others arent. the fact that turks often took wives from among the slave population (majority christian), might also be a factor. |
