Omenani:
I think you are not understanding the conversation. We are not discussing the fact that African nations have a rebellion one form or the other. I am simply discussing why Niger is not a problem currently. That can change. Internal problems within this nation is the reason why. Muslims fighting Muslims. Tuareg fighting the Hausa. Algeria can be considered an Arab nation, so of it course it would be susceptible to the Wahabbi movement, that originated form Saudi Arabia.

This conversation is a red herring.
the conversation is not a red herring unless you make it so.

you're of the opinion if niger didnt have a tuareg rebellion the country would attack nigeria, right?

am i reading you correctly? huh

why would you think niger would have a problem with nigeria in any event? huh

what about chad, benin rep, cameroon which also share borders with nigeria- what are your thoughts?

Omenani:
Are we fighting wars in Southern Nigeria? We have an insurgency, but we do not have the same major battles that occur in Niger and Mali. The Tuareg Rebellion just ended May of last year. How can the inhabitants focus on attacking other countries, when they have to worry about their own safety within their own nation. Let us not forget the political situation that is happening in Niger. You cannot compare the two.
80 to 90% of african countries have one form of rebellion or the other. Add algeria to that list.

what makes niger's own special? huh
Politics › Re: Southern Sudan Begins Process Of Secession: What Are The Implications For Nigeria ? by tpia5: 2:06am On Nov 16, 2010
The same is not true for the Niger Republic, because in that nation, you have Muslims fighting each other. Remember the Tuareg, "North Africa's bad boys," continue to pose a problem for both Mali and Niger. Muslims are fighting each other instead of focusing on non-Muslims and the West in these nations. As long as the Tuareg agitate for a country of their own, we do not have to worry much about them.
The same is not true for southern nigeria, because over there, you have southerners/non-muslims fighting each other. Remember the [insert tribe, region, kidnappers or militant group here], "Southern nigeria's bad boys," continue to pose a problem for both sw, se, ss and everything in between. Southerners are fighting each other instead of focusing on non-southerners and the [insert somewhere here] in these areas. As long as the southerners agitate for a country of their own, we do not have to worry much about them.
how ironic that you cant see the irony in your statement.

So even all the peacekeeping missions the Nigeria Army did in say Liberia/Sierra Leone and elsewhere, weren't they basically just police actions?

If that is true, then the army hasn't had any real experience in literally 40+ years. Combine this with what is probably substandard training (though of course, how much can you train an illiterate who also cannot speak English?). . . hrm.

Or are there some facts I'm not aware of or haven't considered?
^^you're just aching for people to volunteer as cannon fodder, arent you.

Err, what? Obviously the Nigerian Army can kick my @$$. But that isn't what I'm wondering about; how will it do against another legitimate fighting force that is well-trained and well-armed?
can you spell it out for me.

i'm not getting your point.

in any case, start a secessionist movement in your hometown, buy missiles, tanks and rocket launchers from sudan, find friendly areas to train your soldiers, and test your hypothesis.

hire mercenaries as necessary too.
Health › Re: Lagos Approves 75% Conmess For Doctors by tpia5: 1:18am On Nov 16, 2010
My cousin graduated from medical school 3 years ago and is still earning 90k. Whereas all the other cousins of the same age group in other fields (even those that had 2.2) are earning much more
90k is over a million naira per year.

for a beginner. And might not even include locum.

that's chicken change? huh

or do you mean 90k per annum [which seems very unlikely]

as per your cousins making big money elsewhere- i thought everyone keeps harping on the sorry state of and lack of jobs in nigeria.

so what are we to believe? huh
Politics › Re: Southern Sudan Begins Process Of Secession: What Are The Implications For Nigeria ? by tpia5: 1:08am On Nov 16, 2010
that is another nation that might be willing to support an independence movement elsewhere (if only implicitly by allowing you land to train your own soldiers there.)
hasnt ghadafi helped you with that in the past? huh

Not to mention that Southern Sudan has a LOT of weaponry, it seems. Who knows, they might be willing to sell off some of the excess tanks, anti-aircraft guns and rocket launchers in their possession?
sell them off to who?

and to be used where?

I wonder how strong the Nigerian army really is. They've not been tested in a true battle in over 40 years. I would not be surprised if they are a paper tiger.
want to volunteer your hometown to find out?

we'd all like to know.

he did not have a driver's license (i), his Cherokee was not insured (ii) and therefore was not registered (iii), and he was carrying another Nigerian family with their 2 kids without child car seats (iiii)
triple whammy.

So Olu joined the ''elite'' Nigerian students cruising in one type of car or another on campus and making mincemeat of oyibo babes.
Olu's roommate returned home unexpectedly and caught him with his black babe in their room.
can you explain the discrepancy.

he dated white girls when he was rich and black girls when he wasnt? huh

or is there an element of fiction involved.

i didnt know some black AA males men found the movie offensive. In general, i've noticed the majority of tyler perry movies tend to have stereotypical storylines/characters, so i wasnt expecting much from this one. The title alone is a dead giveaway.

Been reading a few reviews and of the many out there, this sort of stood out:
