Politics › Re: My Experience Schooling In Igala Land by tpiadotcom: 2:24pm On Nov 26, 2015 |
promisechild: Am not a good writer so please don't mind my gbaguan.
Having seek admission for so many years, I was finally admitted to study in Kogi State University. I thought it will be fun to be in a new environment apart from my home and ethnic group, I never knew I was totally wrong. My first day in the University was an interesting one, I was given the responsibility of keeping and giving out signed course forms to my fellow colleagues (jambitoes). This responsibility placed on me by the president of the departmental association gave me the mandate to be the class rep moreover the acting class rep. Every morning I make sure I wake up early in order to get to school, some of my coursemates even thought I stay in the lecture room because I was usually the first to arrive and eventually the last to leave. Owning to my activeness in discharging my duties as the class rep i gained ground and favour amidst most of my course mates. I became a threat to the Igalas in my department owing to the way I became famous from 100-400level. I can categorically state that the Igalas are basically the most tribalistic in Nigeria, I think this tribalism of a thing is in their blood, they just want to be in charge of everything without caring about others. Eventually they collided and kicked me out of office. They prefer a laggard Igala person to a good non Igala person in their helm of affairs. Since the inception of Kogi State University a non Igala has never emerged as the student union president and I don't see this cancelling itself because this ailment of tribalism started from the top. I believe you all know what is currently going on in Kogi state now. The Igala has be yawning for change through Prince Abubakar Audu but it was unfortunate they loss him into the cold hands of death, what baffled me most now is that they have decided to return to their vomit, that is to vote in Wada who they had earlier tagged a failed governor If and only if an Igala man is not used as a replacement for Audu. The tribalism out here in Kogi state, specifically the Igala land is enormous. I am using this medium to call on the appropriate authority responsible for tribalism issue to intervene because we the non Igalas are being regarded as nonentity in our state.
This my experience is not to condemn the Igalas but to tell them Kogi state is not Igala state. Kogi state is made up of five ethnic groups which the Igala are there in.
Gracias! your thread title says your experience but your post is about something else. do you want to modify your topic? |

the problem with most folks though (especially Nigerians), is they listen to bad advisers and role models who do not like others to not be miserable.
And so the cycle continues. |
Family › Re: Your Spouse Versus Your Inlaws by tpiadotcom: 10:12pm On Nov 25, 2015 |
the choices are not limited to the two described by the op.
If you are married, you should know the capabilities of your relatives and how you allow that to affect your marriage depends on what value you place on it.
I doubt there's any perfect family and likewise is there any family which consists 100% of bad people.
what you might find are juju people, immature people, wicked people, ungodly people, etc who might constitute the majority but not all.
If you are not like that and these are your relatives, then you should take steps to not turn out that way. |
