The bible is nothing more than an ancient soap opera. It is filled with hate, death, murder, prostitution, suicide and lust
so life itself isnt filled with hate, death, murder, prostitution, suicide and lust? huh

your reasoning is a bit contradictory.

Would you prefer the bible was filled with disney style fairy tales? huh With happy ever after endings? huh

that's not real life or reality.
Romance › Re: Blood Convenant And Intimacy! Shocking! by tpiah: 12:50am On Mar 31, 2010
can you quote some more bible verses to buttress your claim, because you've totally lost me. I do get your point though- you're trying to discourage intimacy before marriage. I hope you dont find it too hard.

In the bible times, old times and in old traditions when a covenant is made between two parties, there is shedding of blood
shedding of blood by both parties involved.

so, no, I dont agree with the blood covenant thingy.

explains why people sometimes feel "attached" to people they sleep with
SOME people feel attached to their lovers because they feel sex makes them important to the other party and also because its a soulish thing, if that makes any sense.

The blood of a virgin is significant of a covenant made between the two consenting parties
huh huh

It's quite surprising what responses I'm reading here. Nobody makes greeting an issue, I personally wouldn't, but I'd think something is wrong if I woke up to a spouse who can't wish me or who I can't wish a 'good morning or so' to. People always play down issues that turn out to matter a great deal afterwards.

If you must have good and effective communication in your hour house, there must be exchange of compliments, pleasantries, banters and any sweet thing you can voice out, greeting is surely one of them.

Why is the world getting too tech and busy that we now push aside the oils that make society run smoothly?

shocked
as others have pointed out, if you're the type who waits with your stopwatch and timer in hand, waiting to see how long it will take your wife to greet you as soon as she gets out of bed, then the wife should most definitely greet you in whichever way you deem fit, as a sign of respect.

If the greeting requires her kneeling down, saluting you and ululating as was done in the olden days, then so be it.

Come sha, can you take a hug instead of a greeting or you just prefer the greeting.

As for me, I will definitely greet my husband in the fully cultural Nigerian way because that's how I am.

@ topic

**yawn**

In Nigeria, its culturally required for the wife to greet the husband first in the morning.

Even if the husband could care less who greets who first, there will always be outsiders, nosy parkers and family members to insist on protocol ie wife not "disrespecting" the husband by not following some "code of conduct" laid down by whoever.

I hope all the people praising gadaffi will still do the same when he releases his libyan trained Nigerian assassins on you, the general populace, as well as the leaders you think he's criticizing on your behalf.

Food › Re: Women Do You Eat The Best Meat In The Pot And Keep Trash For Your Husband? by tpiah: 9:23am On Mar 30, 2010
in Nigeria, you're supposed to reserve the best part of the meat for your husband. Overseas, its not such a big deal most times because the meat would be in excess, together with extra calories and related health problems.

Anyway, the man should tell the wife he prefers the drumsticks, etc and also if possible, buy more chicken so there'll be enough "tasty parts" to go round. In this instance, he can eat his cake and have it.

If they both like drumsticks, then buy enough drumsticks to satisfy both of them. These days there's frozen chicken.

Education › Re: Correct Your English Here by tpiah(op): 3:07pm On Mar 28, 2010
"Compare", not "Compear"

and be mindful of tenses- add the "d" when using past tense.

eg

Compared to Mars, Venus is relatively further from the sun.

or

Compared to red, pink is a softer colour.

Compare= present tense

Compared= past tense.

Eddeux:
no, but he's been the dumbest, close-minded, destructive president we've had in decades. Having a degree doesn't mean leaders will know what to do while in office. If this were the case, America wouldn't be $12 trillion in debt after over 30 yrs of borrowing.
@ bolded

that description is exactly why he was chosen for the job.

a president does little more than take the rap, really.

What a topic! ! !

A lil old though.

Isn't it funny that most of the peeps that wished they weren't married are women? They are the ones that push for commitment, push for marriage and once the "contract" is signed, they wished for something else. This topic has strengthened my resolve to enjoy my bachelorhood for as long as it lasts.Women are not worth it!
funny- i havent read the thread but I think its more of a male thing.

lmao, so having a degree is gonna make Nigeria's leaders wiser so they could lead development in the nation? Sorry to break it to ya, but the only thing a degree gets you is this:

@ teslim, sorry about your dad's death but I dont agree with webb jamie.

@ topic, true true.

i still wonder how he expected me 2 get my sexual edu.
from school (subject:biology, topic:reproduction) and books? huh

You really expected your dad to sit down and calmly discuss sexuality with you?

maybe I'm old school or something but i dont get it.

I dont expect a dad to say much beyond a girl will get pregnant if you touch her. If that happens, you don become daddy be that. End of discussion.
Romance › Re: Pet Names And Phrases Guys Use On Girls And Girls Totally Detest by tpiah: 2:53am On Mar 28, 2010
many of the guys on this thread just dont get it.

Let me paraphrase:

if you meet a white woman for the first time or in a business meeting, do you address her with a pet name or her actual name.

Note: not meeting someone in a strip club but in a normal, everyday setting.

Or if you meet Michelle Obama/Hilary Clinton/Queen of england, do you call them baby.

Please do not tell me you're so far gone that you cant relate with women except on a sexual basis.

and plz dont give me crap about naija women getting ahead of themselves.

hmm, it seems I need to clarify myself more, since there's a misunderstanding about what I said.

however, I myself am not sure how to explain further.

huh

basically, i think I mean ogaga isnt as crude as abuzola, but he does tend to cross the line with his proselytizing.

Currently he's one dimensional and he should try to have other handles, imo, though of course its not by force. Na internet- I understand many of such types are being monitored for their input.

Jesus is still lord.

If a guy cant secure his koko before marriage, he def will do the same after marriage, it has nothing to do with his wifey's look, wether fat/thin/pretty/ugly. It all boils down to the fear of god

Siena:
That's true, Ms Tpia.
Ms siena, unfortunately life being what it is, the wayward man will marry the virgin/non-wayward woman while the wayward woman more often than not, ends up with a non-wayward man. At least relatively non-wayward man.
Family › Re: Why Are Married Men Never Contented With Their Wives? by tpiah: 10:34pm On Mar 27, 2010
^^ well, in the case of unrepentant and intimacy addicted cheaters, maybe.

But most times it's simply sheer indiscipline, irresponsibility, looseness and wanton disregard of marriage vows, by the man.

This doesnt mean I'm saying all women are angels. Of course there are some who can outdo the man point for point when it comes to waywardness.
Family › Re: Why Are Married Men Never Contented With Their Wives? by tpiah: 10:26pm On Mar 27, 2010
If you don't like your wife's new persona, then the honourable thing to do would be to leave her, set her free to find a guy that'll love her as she deserves
does the same apply if the wife doesnt like her husband anymore after they marry? huh
