enieme: last time I checked, nl didn't have a rule that you couldn't address people on a thread other than the op. bsds, I didnt even quote anyone directly so where is it burning me in my shorts?
yes, you need to ask yourself that question, seem you have nothing worthwhile to type, hence your arrant s.tupidity displayed.
Let the Holy Spirit come over you now As the healing rain falls from the clouds There is nothing you can do to deserve it You don't have to earn His love Let the rain fall from above
Merciful rain falls over the children Merciful rain falls over the children Merciful rain falls over the children of God Over the children of God Merciful rain falls
See the Holy Dove descending over you now Feel the Living Water cleansing your soul In the name of Jesus you have been forgiven You have been redeemed forever Fix your eyes on Heaven
INFOTECH2: Finally, the water broke! Since 10:05pm last night it's been coming in trickles but but 3:40am it has been increasingly more with cramps.
Another painful cramp by 4:10am and I decided we must leave home by 5am for the hospital.
Got to the general hospital by 5:40am and she has gone into the labour ward. Nurses still a bit sleepy but have asked her to use sanitary pad(panty liner already in place) and have a seat.
Main question is what exactly should I be doing now as her husband apart from praying. Dont want to call family members just yet.
Our first baby.
what a coincidence, exactly as it happened to my friend when she and her husband were in labour.
enieme: This would have been a nice thread if I'd seen at least one individual with well organised, civilly presented countering points to what the op has just asserted. Instead all I'm seeing is some ad hominem fallacy.
post whatever you want to post without attacking others.
Ucheosefoh: what is the meaning of your last comment ? I wonder how you tribal bigots reason, that a person is not good means the whole tribe should be judged with that characteristics. So I should judge the northerns as boko harem since shekua is from there, what of yorubas ritual killers we read about everyday so we should assume all yorubas are ritual killers and should be avoided at all cost. bro get rid of that myopic mentality. If I may ask how are we sure all this stories flying around are not fake rumours.
are we back in the dark ages or what, these days of macd and so on, you are still talking like this.
NegroNtns: Here is a very good figure to show that Yoruba was a powerful civilization in AfroAsia. Compare to Biblical customs instructing High Priests to dress in exact same manner as shown in this figure.
Contrary to the label in Andrea Jemolo's site that places this figure, found in Jebba, as an archer, he was in fact a priest as indicated by the adornment of his robe, breastplate, sash and ornamental bells in fron of him and the peyot attached to his hair, covered by the headgear.
Note: From a mystical perspective, peyot separate between the front part of the brain which is used for abstract thought that can be used for holiness, and the back part of the brain that governs the body.
this seems to be a different sculpture from the archer one.
TerraCotta: The last image is really interesting since there aren't a lot of images of the decorative terracotta tiling/potsherd pavements I've mentioned on the Internet. This is one of the most distinguishing features of Ife-related cultures. Check out the damaged head in the other image; there are sometimes dozens of fragments that have to be painstakingly reassembled by experts:
bokohalal: I hoped, wished, prayed ( even if to nothing )that you will get to the part that said the potentate that the Binis revered was to the EAST of Benin Kingdom.
250 leagues is about 750 miles, so assuming the informers were telling the truth, the location would be somewhere in central Africa- Congo or thereabouts perhaps, unless they meant the north or Ethiopia. It could also be the general Angola area since Benin had some contact with Angola although that may have been via the Portuguese.
In addition, it was a twenty month journey, so do the maths.
