Obigirl: Always copy the JD of the occupation u want to nominate, tweak it by changing words and rephrasing sentences. Some key terms are important to them. There are things they want to see. Like "advising farmers". Assessment isn't something that can be rushed. Me, I'd even go online and google "JD of Agricultural consultant" I don't know how soon you can apply again tho but keep all of these in mind. Sorry about your outcome. 1 Like |

yettyRoot: Basically, they look at these things to cut Year off.. A. Australia degree/ Bsc or highher/ aqf or diploma/ non ICT aqf diploma/ no degree. B. Whether ur degree is ICT major or ICT MINOR C. Whether your course is closely related to the occupation you nominate. All of these factors will determine how many years will be taken off. If your bsc is a 4 Year course, it will be graded as a an AQF. If it's 5, BSc. Then it's definitely an ICT major but I can't say about whether it's closely related or not. So your scenarios are either A. Bsc-ICT Major -closely related. (2 years deducted) B. BSc -ICT Major -not closely related (4 years) C. Aqf diploma -ICT Major- closely related (5years) D. Aqf diplpma -ICT major - not closely related (6 years) There's a document on their site, it's called "summary of criteria. It's a a tabular form. Download it to understand better. Easy to read. |

udz: There's a couple who the husband has been on the queue for months and no ITA because pro rata. Then the wife accessed her own job and submitted eoi and she got invited in weeks. My point still stands, if a couple can both access different jobs, go ahead. Whatever comes first. Just remember to delete the other EOI. Also, someone submitted 189 when Victoria nomination had closed last year so couldn't add them. Added just NSW. 4 months later,July..Vic nomination is opened for IT. Do u really think they will go and edit the 189 to add 190 for vic which means joining the queue from scratch again? 4 months later? Also What if July comes and the occupation they submitted is taken off the list? As long as the EOI u are submitting isn't just for fun or testing or multiple eoi for same occupation/ same person/same visa..go ahead and submit. The fact that someone has more options to pick from is nothing unfair. There are even ppl who have positive assessment from more than one occupation. The only thing to say is, remember to delete when u get ITA for one. Also, ppl not responding to ITA is sometimes because they are doing Canada and Australia at same time..or 190 clicked b4 189. 2 Likes |

udz: It doesn't work that way sir/ma. If you are trying to get 190 from more than one state, you might have to submit more than one eoi. Also, the person and her husband are accessing for separate occupations. Why put all their eggs in one basket when there's no guarantee on occupations and. Cut-off these days? 1 Like |

udz: Lol. How is that blocking other people's chances? It's like saying when you submit a 189, don't submit a 190. The second EOI is withdrawn immediately u get an invite for the first. So explain again, how is it blocking other people's chances? 4 Likes |

Dahyur119: Most likely AQF for a 4 Year course. Bsc for a 5 Year course. This response is applicable to schools like Covenant, Babcock and Co. I can't say for schools like Lead city and that PU in my state o. |

bensky: How to go about it ? Read page from page 0. I don't think there's an occupation related to your degree on both list. However, u might find something related to your experience. Use this link to check for occupation list. https://www.legislation.gov.au/Details/F2017L00850 Use this one to search for information about occupations you think it's applicable to your work experience. Only one that comes to mind is customer service manager. It will show u states sponsoring the occupation, what lists it's on. Etc. https://www.anzscosearch.com Just register and start your search ..good luck. |

Gr8fulHeart: If both jobs are on the list and u can afford it, both of u should assess. If both assessment is positive, submit two separate eoi one with u as principal applicant, one with him as PA. Thereby giving each other extra 5 partner points. Whoever gets ITA first.. |

Their monikers and all the information they shared. That's a faster way to get information since you have decided not to read the thread as advised. 2 Likes |

paulooma: You are better off accessing as a hardware Technician with TRA. You will end up with 15 points for education if you go that route. by the time ACS will reduce ur years of experience, u most likely won't have enough points to even compete with the ppl who have submitted ITA months before u and still waiting with ICT occupations. Your HND is most likely going to be accessed as "Non ICT major" so definitely more than 6 years will be deducted from your years of experience if you use that.. However, hardware technician is only available on 489 visa. Search this thread for "hardware technician" "TRA" "eladua". All the information you need to go that route can be found there. Good luck |

bollytin: How did you arrive at 60 points? Chances for getting called with 60 points in ICT occupations is erm, Zero. There are ppl with 70 points who are still waiting to get called. Also, that 7 years will get reduced by ACS. Long story short, start looking for how to increase your points. Good luck |

stepo707: No u should not. You only fill an EOI when you have gotten outcome of your assessment and English test. You need the information on your assessment outcome and English test to fill EOI. Except you intend to lie on your eoi. @eladua has assessed with TRA. I'm also sure they have an FAQ section where all your questions would have been answered |

drafo: I dont think you can apply as a medical doctor from Nigeria without writing their board exams. However, i think some doctors have applied with occupations in the medical field that doesn't require u to write an exam. when u get to australia, u can now sit for the exams. Look through the list, there are several medical occupations, check the assessing body's website for their requirements and see if you are eligible to apply for those without having to write an exam. Good Luck. 1 Like |

candycush: what you are asking for is an assurance nobody has. they can make any changes at any time. you have 6 months from now till july. make hay when the sun shines.. however, did you study a 5 year course and what uni did you attend, because that occupation is skill level 1 occupation. |

candycush: You haven't gotten a response because no one has the answer to this. I'm sure you already know u can't claim estate manager/valuer with your banking experience. What you should do is check the requirement for Valuer on the assessing body's website. see their eligibility requirements. Do they need you to have years of experience as a valuer to be eligible or does just a degree in estate management cut it? It's most likely easier to assess with your degree than assessing with your banking experience. Good luck. |

webmaster3: If your degree is assessed as an associate degree by ACS, 6 years would be deducted from your years of experience. You see, all IT occupations except Web administrator is a Skill level one occupation. You need the equivalent of a BSc to be eligible to apply for skill level one occupations. However, if you do not have a Bsc, years of experience will be deducted to make up by ACS. This is broken down on a document on their site called "summary of criteria". (Aqf diploma-ICT major-closely related/not closely related= 5/6 years of experience). No point appealing for the years of experience deduction. However, Someone on this thread has access to the information on University Rankings and I'm almost certain someone here has asked what TIER Lasu is and he responded with Tier 2. So I agree with u needing to ask what happened with the degree part. Which is why I am saying respond with a mail to ACS. They will reply and tell you why your degree was accessed as an AQF. It's a faster way to get an explanation. If you aren't satisfied, then appeal.. But they'd always reply your mail.. |
