You need at least two years of "anything computing" to get positive assessment from ACS.
I stand to be corrected.

Yes. I mean work experience since you mentioned you haven't done anything in relation to ICT before

Hello, please am new on the forum. Would want you to shed more light on Nigerian universities that are classified as tier 2, I had a b Ed fro Tai Solarium university with four years teaching experience, what do you think my chances of a positive assessment is.

There's someone here who has access to that information. Can't remember but I'm almost certain your school isn't a Tier one.

Received positive skills assessment from acs today after the long wait since first week in December. ict project manager.

Oga Bellong, may your days be long and fulfilled.

Thank you to everyone on this forum, may all our prayers come true.

Submitted eoi for Victoria on 65points. Hoping next week will bring good news.
Age: 25pts
English: 10pts (r8, lsw7.5)
Qualification:15pts
Experience: 10pts
Ss:5pts.

Congratulations.
However, Victoria requires you to have maximum point in English.
ICT occupations have become really competitive even more than before.
I'd advise you up your point in English as even those on 70 (75 state nomination) are still waiting to be invited..
I hope you also submitted EOI for 189?

Dear all, i posted sometime ago on this Thread with regards to a negative ACS assessment as my 5year Bachelor degree in Electronics and Computer Engineering was assessed as Associate and had 4 years experience removed. This was due to my peculiar situation of gaining admission through Direct Entry thereby attaining my BSc within 4 years. I sent Emails to ACS on this but always got a response on some certain criteria being used in accessing University degrees and i fall into the associate degree cadre.

I decided to pay 395AUD and appeal the result stating in detail my academic sojourn from OND to BSC. Got an email today with a positive assessment with 4years returned as well as Full Bachelor's degree.

I would advise anyone undergoing ACS evaluation that got into university through Direct Entry to attach some form of cover letter explaining in detail the process in order to avoid going through an appeal as its quite clear ACS does not fully understand the DE mode into Universities.

Thank you all for the advice i got from this thread. its been really helpful. PTE here i come.

This is great news. Glad you didn't just accept the out come.. did they refund your appeal fee tho?

It's not DIPB that reduces your years of experience. It's assessment bodies. Intact, if you can back it up, u can claim years of experience reduced with DIPB according to recent news.
Also, nothing concern DIPB with NYSC. People claim points sef for work done during NYSC. No one is asking you for NYSC certificate.

Work experience assessment is not mandatory. You can fill on EOI as long as you have all evidences for them but ensure that the experience are all in line or related to the profession you are vying for.

That's good to know.
Does this apply to all or just Engineers?

1. Microsoft engineer nysc...1yr
2. ATM engineer.......1yr
3. Telecomms engineer.....7mths
4.telecoms network engineer...2014 till date

Can I go ahead and claim those yrs. As I stated those exp while assessing with EA.

I'm not sure u can do this because even in the EOI u will be filling, there's a question asking whether you have accessed your experience.

Hello all. I'm new on the forum.
I want to appreciate all the gurus in the house especially Sir Bellong. God bless you all.
I'm still reading. Currently on page 76.

Pls are there doctors in the house. Or anyone that can help a doctor out.
I have gone through the SOL list. And i can't seem to find an alternative for medical doctors.
I don't want to write the professional exams from Nigeria.

Pls help a sister out.
Thank you

As a doctor, you will have to apply for occupations like "health center manager" and other related occupations.
With that your degree in medicine should get you a positive assessment and you don't need to write any exam. When you get to Australia, u can then work on getting the necessary accreditation to practice as a medical doctor.
Search the thread for words like "doctor" and you will see more info on that.

You took my post out of context.
That was in response to the last invitation round which was just 300 people invited.
That's an "abnormal" round and it's no surprise only people with high points got invited.
Things should return to normal soon and some occupations will get invited with 60 points.

Yes we are talking about ICT specifically Software Engineer. I have applied for 190 for VIC (25/12/2017) with 70+5 points, Superior English and the normal 189 on 70 points. I thought the 189 would be a breeze (Little did I know....).

I looked through your posts just to get an idea of where you stand and I can understand how dogged you are. You have tried and still manage to answer questions here. Already i'm tending towards 'getting annoyed' at this whole thing. Patience now more than ever is a virtue.

Well, my doggedness comes from me knowing that they don't operate like Nigerians.
I know that even on the Canadian PR process, points sometimes go up and then it's reduced..
I also know that if they have intentions of stopping the whole thing altogether, they will do it in a transparent way and inform people to stop paying for assessment and English test..
I strongly believe that points will drop this January and that when they start inviting as much as they used to, not this 300 per round we keep seeing, 65 pointers will start getting invites even on ICT.

As long as you are not in a rush or refused to pay for your rent because you believe you should be out in a month, patience is key. There's still the waiting you will do after you have applied for visa.
You also won't leave immediately after the grant.
Just keep on your daily activities and check the thread often..it will eventually happen.
Only ppl who should be in a hurry are people who are already in Australia and their visa is expiring soon..
As long as we dey this Nigeria together, nah next election no go meet me for here. Time still dey.

Good afternoon to everyone in the house,

Am new here and I have read through the threads here and I have interest in applying.

I need an architect in the house to put me through some of the documents needed for skill migration submission: especially the COVER PAGE WRITE-UP sample.
1. Cover letter (maximum 2 x A4 pages) addressing why you think your
- academic qualification(s) is equivalent to an Australian accredited academic
qualification in Architecture in terms of academic duration;
- structure of the coursework program; -
- core areas of study;
- and the content of the individual units of study.
Refer to the criteria provided in Section 1. When relevant, the
cover letter should also address:
a. Any gaps in the course syllabus provided.
b. Any period of study completed at a different institution, such as through a
student exchange.

Awaiting your response urgently.
Thanks.

Still on the look for assistance as regards the above so that i can submit on time for my Assesment. will appreciate help from anyone in the house.

thanks once again

Cc trastar, Eludua, Misoke, Stepo707, Bellong

I don't have any idea about architecture and I'm almost certain none of these people do too.
However, I believe the above is self explanatory.
It's really not something u can use another person's own to write. Just try and write it and assume it's for a job position you are really hoping to get.
Maybe imagine the pay is 1M per month.
Wish u good luck.

Okay just so I don't mislead. People with 70 points got ITA (70+5) for 190 for NSW for those with superior points in English.

The October date even as reported on the thread was still attributed to Iscah. So I guess that's the info making the rounds. I did not apply for NSW. Remember you encouraged my to reapply for my 190 after withdrawing it following my score update. Hoping Victoria will start giving for 70+5 as well.

Again 17th January is the date on everyone's lips as the day for the 2nd round for the month. Let's hope it gets better.

Iscah doesn't post information for State nomination invites. U also won't see it on the list DIPB posts.
Any information u see on those places has nothing to do with state.
However, if you have superior English, you should get invite for VIC with 70+5. I don't know about NSW tho.
I'm assuming we are talking about ICT occupations here.
Travel / Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by trastar(f): 12:36pm On Jan 11, 2018

Yeah I'm not challenging your post but besides the speculative nature of Iscah's post on invitation rounds I follow the thread on Expat Forum where applicants like you and I received ITA's for Jan 3rd on 70 points with a DOE before October 30th.

Whatever happens we will be patient it's just things aren't as clear as before.

See the thread link with testimonies from real applicants with their time lines as signatures.

http://www.expatforum.com/expats/australia-expat-forum-expats-living-australia/1375521-189-eoi-invitations-january-2018-a-10.html#/topics/1375521?page=16

I went through this thread and I didn't see anyone with a 70 point invited. So I'm confused?
Also with the tiny number of people invited on The 3rd, I'd be surprised any 70 will be invited.

Yes, I am already a student but I came in for a diploma of commerce program which would lead to a bachelors (accounting). I am in Melbourne now, just thinking moving to Tasmania could be a shorter route. Thinking aloud though. Pls more input will be highly regarded.

Your Australian BSc in accounting is 15points.
There's extra 5 points u get for having studied there. Another 5 point for at least 1 year of professional work in Aussie.

I honestly don't even understand your moving to Tasmania idea. Do u have a job there ?
Anyways, I'm here and I'm jealous of all the points u can claim. Pls read from page 0. You'd see how to start the entire process with u as the principal applicant. Customer service manager occupation is only on Tasmania and NT 190 list and I'm almost certain the conditions are hard to meet for someone who isn't already in Aussie..

Good morning the good people of this forum.
I need urgent advice on way forward for this PR matter.

I have a 2.2 bsc degree in mathematics. A msc degree in mathematics. A PGDE from NTI.
Work experience: 1 year nysc teaching time, 2 years in another school as a maths teacher, 3 months as a primary teacher, 1 year as a contract part time lecturer in about 3 universities outside the shores of naija as an undergrad maths and OR lecturer. Currently in a secondary school in naija as a maths teacher.

Toefl scores: writing: 22, reading, listeningand speaking: 24,24,23.

Which of the various options can I pursue.

I will be glad if someone can take his/her time to help and advise accordingly.

Thanks.
Looking forward to your advancing advice and I sights.

You definitely can access as a mathematician based on educational qualifications. However, your work experience isn't closely related to a Mathematician

"224112: Develops and applies mathematical principles and techniques to solve problems in all areas of the sciences, engineering, technology, social sciences, business, industry and commerce."

If you have one year experience of doing anything close to the above JD. Then your are good to go.
I think u can't access as a teacher because you need to have done teaching practice or something like that in Uni.
