Long post alert. So our journey started January Last year. PTE =20 points (January 2017) ACS =( Feb 2017) 10 years experience reduced to 4. Experience= 5Pts Education 10pts. Age =25. Total =60 pts Applied for EOI on 04/03/2107 with 60pts (189). 65 points nsw. (190). (Vic was closed) Of course our point was low and 263111 had already reached its ceiling. However, we were hoping for two things. Getting called in July 2017, when the new list is out, based on we'd have been on the queue for over three months and an increase in our point in Oct (work anniversary). The first didn't happen..the second did. Still no ITA. Then I sent @alphadoor an email sometime in Sept..or maybe he sent me an email. Can't really recall. And he explained how to go about correcting the "injustice" of ACS reducing 11years to 5 years. (Took a lot of convincing and another of my Husband's colleague getting his Aussie Grant for my husband to agree to accessment again. He was already fed up with the whole process. ) Another ACS assesment in October 2017. November 2017- Acs assessment report came out. (Took about 8 weeks. Compared to the 10 days it took in January. That's when I knew, Buhari don dey chase everyone comot). Report =9yrs plus experience given. Hallelujah! Submitted another EOI in Nov 17 with Vic and updated the other one for NSW and 189. Profile now became -70 points total. 75 for 190. Age -25 English -20 Education -10 Experience -15. 02 Jan- Victoria invitation to apply for state nomination. 03 Jan-applied. 29Jan -Victoria rejection of state nomination. 02 Feb -NSW invitation to apply for state nomination. 06 Feb -applied. 26th March - ITA Hallelujah. I was going to wait till Grant to share this but I don't know who the information here might help. Lack of proper information from scratch is what caused us to have gotten the first assessment wrong, paying another 500 aud for assessment and being delayed this long. However, I'm a strong believer in God's timing is never wrong. I can't thank @Alphadoor enough. I can only pay it forward from time to time by responding to questions here. Thank you @bellong for this thread. Also to everyone who have responded to my plenty questions here when I just joined the thread, thank you. Keep us in your prayers and I'm praying everyone who is waiting for good news too will share there's soon. Grant fall on us soon. Amen.. 21 Likes |

bblayer: I don't think anyone has, that's why you haven't gotten a response. The best way to get a response to your question is via Vetassess themselves. |

mumzt: I've heard people doing this but I actually didn't believe it. EOI is a serious part of the process, why would you play around with it? Nobody can say for sure whether this will affect your future EOI. I know the only reason why it's sweet to "play around" with EOI Na cos e free. If its 200aud now..everyone will let it be until you have all you need. 4 Likes |

FabulousAutos: You need to actually state what u do in the oil and gas sector for anyone to be able to give a reasonable response. You can also look through the LISTs to see if occupation is close to what you do. |

mumzt: OK. EA won't assess him as an engineering manager. AIM assesses Managers. So if he wants to be assessed as that, he will have to assess with AIM. That's the body the original poster assessed with. Good luck |

mumzt: If I'm not mistaking, you apply for that with AIM. Is that the same body he assessed with or with EA? |

crownnygold: "First set". My point exactly. It isn't a common course in Nigeria. There's this clause on AASW "The AASW can only assess your qualification/s as eligible if you have been specifically trained in social work and you are eligible for membership or registration in your country of training (where such a body exists)". This was in response to the question about related courses like sociology and co.. I also saw that there's a social worker association in Nigeria. Even though the website looks tacky as anything, you might want to contact them and see if they have any information. You never know. 1 Like |

Tojued: I believe the person will get positive assessment. There's no social worker course in Nigeria really..the closest is Sociology..so package well and it should fly.. |

Apparently AASW is even saying they are now able to access people with qualifications lower than a degree. This is good news for those of you who studied 4 years social work related courses in a tier 2 university. |

KetchyMaryann: OK great. Check the website and see their requirements. There are other related occupations as well but it seems social worker is the only one on the 189 list. Guess you will have to write your job description to match closely with the JD of a social worker. Good luck. |

Femicrux: You pay visa fee after you have assessed your degree and education and it's positive for the occupation you are nominating and you have been invited to apply for visa. 500 aud is for accessment of your IT degree. If your degree is not IT related, assessment fee might be more or the same. This fee is determined by the body assessing your degree. |
Travel / Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by trastar(f): 5:03pm On Feb 09, 2018 |
KetchyMaryann: You. Need to have a degree equivalent to Australia's BSc to get positive assessment as social worker. That means, a 4 year course with Tier one university or a 5 year course with Tier 2 university. (It's always easier if you tell us which school you graduated from, how many years course of study and how long you have been working).. |

Azy123: I didn't even realize his BSc will be 15 points. However, RPL means more years will be deducted right? Doesn't he need 6-8 years of experience for RPL? Safest and easiest move will still be his masters. |
Travel / Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by trastar(f): 1:39pm On Feb 06, 2018 |
Azy123: This is tricky. If he has two years before the masters, means he will claim points for 4 years experience gotten after masters and claim 15 points for education.. His BSc will only get him 10 points and he stated he has just 4 years experience. 2 Likes |

Cubedidi: What occupation is that? There's really no shedding to be done on the light of getting a job all the way from Nigeria except you are exceptionally qualified and very few people are available to take up the job in Australia. Basically, look at another option. |
