Alphadoor: Meaning you have 60pts...
For visa 190..... at least for NSW the rumored trend is that if u have 20pts in English, they make look at your EOI. But generally for visa 190 it's highly difficult to predict, there is no clear pattern to follow. However for 489 regional.... the chances are higher than 190 You should apply to all states We have been on superior English( 65pts) with NSW since February..and 70 pts since October. I honestly doubt they intend to invite anyone jare. Including Victoria. Victoria since July.. |

Iscah says last round invitations for Mechanical Engineers was 70 meanwhile I know someone who go invited in October with 65 (EOI was also in October). Somborri wee now nor know what to believe . I strongly believe Iscah gets its information from Immitracker.. And immitracker doesn't track everyone. |

Dykodd: Hi everyone. Good job you guys are doing. I apologise for the long post but I'm actually looking for some pieces of advice concerning the occupation to nominate. Let me break down my details... - Studied Materials & Metallurgical Engineering (Metallurgy option) (FUTO 2009) - I'm aiming for Visa 189 or 489 (family nominated), I have a brother who's a permanent residence holder in Australia and he lives in NSW. So he will nominate me. - Both 189 and 489 (family nominated) require ones occupation to be on MLTSSL. -My course of study is not on the MLTSSL, what they have there is "Materials Engineer" -My question is...should I nominate "Engineering Technologist" since it's on the MLTSSL or should I go ahead and nominate "Materials Engineer"?
Note: There are two types of 489, one is family nominated (MLTSSL only) while the other is state/territory nominated.
Any input will be highly appreciated. Thanks and good luck to everyone!!! Erm, courses aren't really what to look for on the list na..it's more of occupation..if you studied Materials and metallurgical engr, doesn't that make u "material/ mettalurgical engineer?". I'm just curious myself..like I'm asking you back..are these two different things and we non-engineers don't get it? |

korlahwarleh: Please, in a case whereby the minimum point for the latest draw is 70, is it advisable for someone whose highest possible point is/will be 65 to continue? As in, is there hope for someone with 65 points? I hope one will not get stuck in the system, after paying for assessment and other things, waiting for his or her time to come. Thanks For non pro-rata occupations, I don't think 70 Pts will be permanent. I think that happened because they reduced the number of invitations this month. Let's see what December holds. I also read three new visa class that was formerly lodged in person was added to Immiaccount. Maybe this is all part of the upgrade or whatever system they are working on.. So let's stay hopeful. |

Alphadoor: Excellent question
Even at 85 pts nothing is guaranteed until it comes to past.
As for whether there is hope for persons with 65pts, its neither a YES or a NO. its complicated depending on Occupation and cut-off, as different criteria applies to different occupation. Example: An accountant with 65 pts on a 189 queue is really in a bad spot because on a queue where people with 70/75 are waiting 3 to 6 months to get invited. but if same person is an agric scientist with 65pts.. its only a matter of time..
However, my advise to you is..... if its 65pts you can claim for now, go ahead and pursue the points, it will enable to access either 189 or 190 or 489.
Despite the high unemployment rate in the country.. people are still earning degree certificate every other day.
Please don't be discouraged by the current statistics, its quite harsh at the moment, trust me i know ..........but nothing is written in stone.
The rules changes all the time... and when it does in your favor .... its better to be well positioned to take that opportunity immediately.
#HustleOn Adding to this, your 65 points can be good enough for a 190 or 489 with some states.. I believe once u begin to feel ur chances are low with 189, start considering other options. Spousal point is another thing to consider as well.. God help us all. Amin.. |

It can actually cover air travel as well. Lemme break it down. I was charged 288naira to 1 aud when I paid using my Gtb card for assessment recently That means visa fees =3600aud =1,036,800 Accessment assuming 1000aud=288,000 Medical. =52k (?) Police report. =5k (max) PTE =52k Transcript collection and misc. = 50k (or less) All of these is less than 1.5M. And ppl have bought tix for less than 400k through IOM here.. So yes. 2M will do victree4: It should be enough as long as air ticket is not included. |

Same 8th Nov---went for lunch got back and there was my ITA sitting nicely in my email
Had to sit still for a minute cos my heart was about bursting through my chest.hahaha...i expected it soon but whaaat! ....less than 24hrs?...it just has to be God

stepo707: Hmmmn.well as u knw writing score can't be guaranteed.and sometimes little mistakes in reading/listening I wrote the test on Nov 2nd but the result is not yet out.fingers crossed though So wait till you get your English test result before you are sure of the points. Also u most likely won't get anything for experience with your 4 years if you assess with ACS. Best thing is to do what Eladua did. Assess with TRA instead. |
Travel › Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by trastar(f): 11:15pm On Nov 05, 2017 |
stepo707: Its computer network and system Engineer..
this is the breakdown of the 60points I am 30yrs :30pts 4yrs work exp:5pts ielts: 10pts bachelors degree:15pts
Thats a total of 60points....
Pls correct me if a wrong First thing you need to do is get accessed with ACS as you can't give urself points in education and work experience until ACS has assessed you for both.. The outcome of their assessment will determine your points for experience and degree. So right now, you have 30 for age. 10 for English test (that's assuming you have written that). Also, why don't you try to score higher in your English test? |

Eladua: So, finally it is my turn to testify, the Lord has done it. Like someone mentioned some days back, it will get to a time that one would just get tired of checking mails every morning expecting that grant and just concentrate on other things, I have been like that for some weeks now, only for me to check my mail on a Saturday morning and the grant catwalked in.
It all started last year November when I assessed my qualifications with ACS and they broke my heart with negative outcome based on the fact that my degree isn't equivalent to Aussie Bsc and I needed 4years experience to qualify. I gave up at that moment until when someone here opened my eyes to the possibility of going with TRA so I did and got a positive outcome, even though they were silent on the level of education I went ahead to claim the maximum point for a Bsc, this was my fear with DIBP, alas it came out well.
It's a 489 visa, and my advice for some especially the single ones, if 190 is taking time to get coz of your English test or something, just go with the 489 instead of continuous waiting, before you know it another policy will come up. My occupation was for 190 initially, the day i was to apply for state nomination was when they moved it to 489, so i decided to just go on with it.
Thanks to everyone that has helped me one way or the other and I pray for those still in process, it will land sooner than you think.
Pls anyone that has info on if IOM help with travel tickets for 489 applicants and the process should pls advice. Congratulations! I'm glad you didn't give up. I remember our emails. Happy everything worked out well eventually. May God favor you. Amen |

Prolivingproof: You better take time and correct the transcript DOB from your school before sending it out, otherwise you will compound the problem. DOB is a major factor in point based immigration process, they take any inconsistency very seriously. Well, we have been on it for months now and school is saying they can only change it at point of printout. This means it won't change in their record and I believe that is risky. *sigh* |

To everyone who recently got their grant and ITAs, I say big congratulations to you all.
I want to also say a very big thank you to this e-family, without this forum, I probably won't be a PR visa holder today.

I'm torn between assessing for welfare Center manager but he didn't hold a managerial role and I'm also skeptical about him having just bsc from AAUA. I don't want to risk it and lose over 1k aud. Community worker is on 190 with NT but that POF is a major issue. Youth worker is only in SA for 489. And SA + 489 isn't a good combo. Can anyone advice on this. I've been really confused. However, he can assess as a community worker, it is a level 2 occupation sponsored on 489 by SA and both 190/489 by NT. Thank you for your response. Yeeshash told me u need a bsc for positive accessment for Welfare center manager. His bsc will most likely be accessed as an aqf diploma I'd read up on community worker. |
