Please someone should help with this question, abeg...

Thing is, company that pays in cash will most likely not have things like pension or tax certificate.
Include things like employment letter and any official document that connects you to the job with the company.
Or make a payslip yourself and have your employer sign it, certifying it as genuine remuneration you received while working with them.
Goodluck.

Good Morning Aussie Fam!

I have been in Sydney for a while now and I am loving it. Just in case you coming this way (Sydney) and you need the following (see below) be sure to holla at me.

1. Airport pickup
2. A church to attend, I currently attend House of Grace Ministries, with a wonderful Nigerian pastor, a couple of Nigerians and more than a handful of other African Nationals and other nationals as well.
3. Someone to look and book accommodation for you before you arrive (of course you bear the cost grin ). Granny flats, shared houses with single rooms etc.
4. Some one to ask questions: think where to buy some African food, shops, the mall, job search tips (not job ooo, biko). etc
5. Currency exchange. Some Naira or USD to AUD.

I also have some friends in Queensland and Perth for those headed that way. Hopefully they can help, fingers crossed.

Can't wait to welcome you.
Whatapp number: 07014516254. Yes my Nigerian Whatsapp number is still active until Airtel kicks me out.

Warms Regards!
Your fellow Aussie.

Bless you. will keep in mind.

Thanks trastar for the quick response. How much do you think a family of three would pay?

Principal Applicant- 3670*288=1,056,960
Partner- 1800*288=518,400
Dependent child- 900*288=259,200
(288 was the exchange rate as at April)

About N1,834,560.
This is cost of Visa alone.

Thanks for your response Trastar.

However, the places I have worked would only Reference me as a Facilities Manager and not a Valuer, also my employment letter also carries Facilities Manager. Hence, I don't know how to align it to fit into a Valuer.

Do you think VETASSESS will not give me a positive outcome if I nominate for facilities management?

You will get positive assessment.
My advice was based on the visa available for that occupation whereas your degree can get you 190.
Since it can't be aligned to valuer, I guess you can as well just stick with facility manager.
Who knows what the new list will bring.

Baba Alphadoor & other Wikipedias in the house, please help.

Hello House,

I urgently need your advice, I studied Estate Management and works in Facilities Management field for about 5years now.

I wish to apply for assessment with VETASSESS nominating Facilities Management under Subclass 489.

Kindly advise on my chance of getting positive assessment, and how many points can the assessment fetch me?

Please urgently help please.

God bless you all.

I'd say align your work experience and reference to match that of a valuer.
Your degree will get your positive assessment for Valuer and it's non-prorata.
Someone got NSw 190 nomination for it with 10 points in English too.

Good day everyone, am back on this thread after a long break(story for another day) . I am a mother of 3, graduated 2005 ( BSc Industrial chemistry),worked in a private pharmaceutical firm( not existing again) for 18months had PGDE in 2010 and teach in a primary school for a year before i got employed in a research institute as a scientific officer in 2011 till date, and bagged my Masters in Industrial chemistry in 2017.

MY QUESTIONS PLS
Which occupation suits my qualification?
can i evaluate my Pgde as a teacher even after leaving the system for years?

your advice pls

I actually did a thorough search for you and nothing came up for Industrial Chemistry.
You have a master's degree, your chances are better with Canada, have you considered that option?

Good day everyone in the house. I have been following this thread from part 1 (although I didn’t finish because the thread is too long) and I have some questions. We want to use my husband as principal applicant
Age: 33
Education: Bsc Electical and Electronics Engineering
Years of experience: 7+ NYSC 8
English test: not yet
His work experience is in telecommunications site management, now he’s a regional manager in the same job. We don’t know what profession to use. And what states to apply to. Q Secondly, someone said I shouldn’t bother with Australian pr that it costs about 2.5mill for application. Can someone please confirm or refute this claim

2.5 million for Visa application if you have a family of 4-5, yes.
But this is what i always say to people, the process is such that your victories are in stages and the fee for the smaller victories isnt that much.
English test is a victory-cost about 55k
EA assessment another victory- the most important hurdle to cross -cost about 300k (if i am not mistaken).
By the time you have spent this almost 500k and you are receiving the good news of ITA.
Like a letter from Australia saying "Madam, you are eligible, pay for visa"- 2.5M will be the least of your worries.
Its like being pregnant and going into labour-the joy of what comes after labour is too big compared to the pain of labour.

On the issue of what to assess as, the truth is, you really need to read the thread.
I am also hoping our engineers in the house can help.
Also, you may want to wait with assessment for now. New occupation list will be out in July.
wait to see whats on it before applying.

. Pls how can one go about making them deduct from d experience gained while in school only? Did 2yrs ND program in a fed poly, did 1yr IT in 2003-2004, did direct entry to OAU(200L - 500L) did 3months IT at d end of part 2&3, also did 6months IT in part 4 second semester ,den went for nysc after 500L

If you search my name, you will see my post in the previous thread about how to make experience gained while in school count.
Basically get the companies you did ITs at to give you reference letters.
However, ACS will still deduct about 4-6 years from your years of experience.
which means you might not be able to get up to 75 points needed for ICT occupations for now.
(Age-30, English-20, Education-10, experience -5=65
This is me assuming you are below 30 and has highest english score)

so like someone advised earlier, assess as a hardware technician or ICT Customer Support Officer with TRA.
You will get maximum points for education with that..They are also sponsored by NT, TASMANIA and SA. You need to check their sites and read up on their sponsorship conditions. That route is definitely faster.
Also note new list will be out soon, so you might want to wait to see whats on it before assessing.

Pls help a sister out that is tired of this country..i have read page 0 but wasn't able to understand part of it.... Thx... Please don't ignore

Only two options come to mind.
assess as a customer service manager with Vetassess- South australia, Northern territory, Tasmania and ACT are all sponsoring it. special conditions apply for all these states. you have to go to their website and see what conditions each state is asking for.

Everything I just typed wouldn't make sense except you really read this thread and do your research.

Option two is, Canada.

Apologies for the long post but Plz don't forget me here oooo

Your story is really long.
Anyways, how many years was your course?
What school and how many years of experience do you have?

Acs will most likely deduct more than two years, but the good thing is they don't mind deducting these years from work experience gained before you graduated Uni.
Answer the above questions and we will answer you better.

Your chances are better with Canada, honestly. Especially with your Msc.

I must say that this platform has equipped me with many information. Please i need your advice. I am planning to send my credentials for assessment but i'm confused. I have Bsc Mass Communication (4 year course) from a Private University and Msc in Human Resources Management from a UK University. I have 8 years work experience in Human Resources and i plan to apply for NT SUBCLASS 489 visa-Human Resources Adviser (This is the only option i found to be relevant to my present job role). Do you think my first degree could affect the assessment. I also have a professional qualification (Chartered Institute of Personnel Management Nigeria). Will it add to my assessment.

I thank every individual on this thread for their contributions in making this thread a very active one.

I appreciate specially @Bellong who with other information think tanks on the subject matter have been making dreams of their fellows compatriots come to reality. Your contributions to helping us all through the information provided on this platform is immeasurable. I thank you. I'm new to this thread.

I was introduced here by a brother from another mother who was successful on this quest sometimes in 2017.

I had my degree in Mathematical Sciences (Computer Science Option). I have 9 years work experience, 2 years and about 6 months as a system analyst, the rest as a Banker in various roles. Firstly, for a period of six months, i was a Payment & Policy Oversight Officer. I was responsible for investigating customers’ ATM complaints and making recommendations on investigation outcomes, conducting compliance monitoring on payments system operators, and Liaising with the payments systems operators for reports on their activities.

Secondly, I was an investment officer for another 3 years and was responsible for providing first level contact to stakeholder’s issues on discount window operations, helping stakeholders through on the daily over-the-counter (OTC) trading in fixed income securities, Carring out reconciliation for over-the-counter (OTC) trading of fixed income securities, bidding on behalf of customers during fixed income securities auctions, Re-discounting investment on behalf internal and mandate customers on request, and Providing creative alternatives and recommendations to improve operational efficiency.

But since September 2015 I was assigned additional responsibilities, which made my role similar to that of a system administrator though i still carry out some of the functions of an investment officer but with the following responsibilities starting and closing the business day on the RTGS and S4 applications; Processing of the net clearing sessions files; relating with relevant stakeholders in ensuring the smooth running of the clearing session’s files; resolution of transactions gridlocks; providing first level contact to stakeholder’s issues on RTGS and S4; Driving process improvement and policy development initiatives that enhance RTGS and S4 operations; and Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues.

I'm so confused that i can't evaluate under what skilled occupation I should be assessed. Please i need help. Thanks

I'd say Check ACS website, look at all the occupations and pick the one that's closely related to the IT related functions you have done/currently do in the Bank..
Write your assessment reference letter to closely match the one you chose.
I know for people who work in the Bank, you most likely have to draft your own letter as HR can't be very certain of your daily activities.
Let your reference letter concentrate more on the IT related functions than the banking related ones.

I really do not know why your assessment by ACS was AQF Diploma, I went to a Nigerian Private Uni too and got equivalent AQF Bachelors Degree with a major in computing.

The occupation you nominated and applied for assessment, is it the same occupation you have 10 years experience in?

Difference between you two is the duration of your course. Babcock is 4 years. I'm assuming you went to Covenant which will mean 5 years.

Hello

I have been following the thread and its quite informative. Kudos to all.

I am an Accounting graduate from Covenant University and I have worked in an NGO as welfare coordinator for 7years, and as an accounting trainee for one year prior to the NGO. What will my chances of landing a PR be? I already ran a search and my job title appears under Subclass 189 and the assessing body is ACWA.

Age - 30points
BSC- 15points
Work- 15points (8years)
PTE - ??

How Many points do I need to score to get an invite

Your degree might be an issue. Did you check Acwa's requirement?

Good morning

Please what is the minimum point I need for 189 visa class as a General accountant?
Age: 26
BSc Accounting
4 years experience
English test: planning to write PTE or IELTS, though I haven't decided yet cos I need to get 20 points in any of the two.

Last time I checked, accountants weren't getting 189 invite. But I believe high pointers like 80 and above can get 190 or 489 invite.

Hi Gurus in the house. Please I will to know my chances with subclass 190. My total point with NSW is 65. Going in for computer ntwk and system analyst. God bless

Did you arrive at this point after English test and accessment?

If yes, your chances are low. Aim for 70 points and 20points in English isn't negotiable. You need that to get an invite

Hello House,

Please I have another question. I have a Bachelors degree in Zoology and a Masters degree in Human Resources. My current occupation is Human Resources Management. Do I need to send my Bachelors degree transcript or just my Masters degree transcript for assessment?

Thank you

Assessing as a human resource manager will mean you being an actual manager like @Nekks has pointed out. If you aren't, don't waste your money.
However, your husband is a better person to apply as a PA. His years of experience is more than enough.
Talk to people who have gone through Acs assessment. Gather his documents and he should be good to go.

If yes, then it's possible.
That occupation isn't on pro-rata.

Congrats on your ITA. Onto the next one...

Howbeit, do you have any idea why Victoria rejected to grant state nomination after inviting you to apply? Actually thought it's almost automatic once you have been invited to apply?

For Victoria, it's not automatic.
This is the mail..
"Following a review of your application, we regret to inform you that you have not been selected for visa nomination by the Victorian Government.

Your application for Victorian Government state nomination was reviewed individually and assessed with a focus on your ability to address a number of criteria, including:

 your ability to meet the minimum eligibility criteria,

 the demand for your particular skills and expertise, and your ability to find work in Victoria,

 the suitability and transferability of your qualifications, skills and experience – including any specialist capabilities – to the needs of Victoria’s labour market,

 your ability and commitment to establishing yourself, and any dependents, in Victoria

 the number of nomination applications received relative to the number of nomination places available for your occupation.

Victoria receives a high number of very strong applications for state nomination and only the very highest calibre candidates with the strongest skills, experience and opportunity for finding work in Victoria’s labour market are selected for Victorian state nomination.

The Victorian Government uses independent industry panels to provide advice on the suitability of applicants to Victoria’s labour market. These industry representatives also provide advice on the demand for individual applicants’ qualifications, skills and experience, and prospects for employment in Victoria.

While your application demonstrated your ability to meet the minimum eligibility requirements for Victorian state nomination, other applicants were able to more adequately demonstrate their suitability for employment in Victoria."
Some ppl believe they favor younger people.
Some people say they look out for people with lots of IT certifications. No one is so certain what exactly the criteria is.
Good thing is, they don't charge for application for SS like NSW does.
So money no waste.
