fpeter: I'm glad I stumbled on this article, this is my 8th year of graduation from the University
sometimes i actually wonder if schooling wasn't a wasted effort for most of us in Nigeria?
I have a job but I'm highly underpaid, to the extent that most drivers in my Org. actually
earn higher salaries than the so called graduates, I decided to call some of my friends just
this morning and we agreed to fast and do an all night vigil for us to get better jobs. Now
some people would laugh at this but we've done everything,submitted resumes,cried,begged
relatives in high positions until we became some sort of nuisances and now they avoid our calls.
This unemployment issue is killing the youths,causing lateness in marriage,gross poverty e.t.c

NOW IS THE SET TIME; LET OUR VOICES BE HEARD!!!!

ok don't mean to kill your desires and that of NAUG but things are about to get uglier, I would say be content with food and shelter, the powers that be don't care about the masses....now if u want to ask me why it's going to get uglier just read the topic I posted on Foreign affairs section on Nairaland

chronique: Most of the comments on this thread shows you exactly why Nigeria is the way it is today and why we'll still be like this years to come. A lot of people are praying it happens to them so they can withdraw the money. That puts y'all on the same level with armed robbers and thieves,wanting to take what does not belong to you. Tomorrow,you guys would criticise govt for being corrupt;aren't you guys being plain hypocrites? It's so sad to know that these are the kind of humans living around us;how can we ever achieve our dreams of living in a honest society with people with these kind of mindset? Who do we blame? I was at the counter few years back to withdraw money to pay someone and God knows that that day,I was totally broke. I couldn't even boast of 1k in my pocket after paying the person I needed to pay. While at the counter,instead of the cashier giving me a bundle of 500 naira notes(50k),she gave me a bundle of few 500 naira notes on either sides of 1000 naira notes(the 1k notes were sandwiched in btw). As I counted and realised the money was way over,I returned the money to her and told her she had overpaid me. When she saw the mistake,she was shocked and said thank you sir. People standing behind me and beside,were looking at me as if to say "this one nor sharp". A guy walked up to me and said: "you're a good Nigerian". I was a lil bit offended cos I didn't see the big deal in returning something that doesn't belong to me. I was brought up that way and have always lived my life that way. The fact that I was broke and needed cash badly wasn't enough to change my principle. I told some other people and they swore never to return the money...

What's my point in all of these? If you cannot be principled enough to correct such an error or to be honest with people when they mistakenly commit such errors,do not anticipate or dream of living in a better world or a society free from robbery and corruption. What goes around,comes around. If you can't be principled and honest when it comes to money,have it at the back of your mind that you're one of the problems that needs to be eradicated from the society for people to live normal lives.

I get what you are saying but some errors are not errors, do you know God takes from sinners and gives to the just, look at it this way did you steal the money if it was given to you, I can't even mention the number of times money was given to me at my place of work, like I said I didnt steal it,it was given to me, and i keep it, now if u want to call that stealing,then you dont know what stealing is

what you don't understand is this, the Supreme being created paganism for the world to be occupied in but gave His Love to His people...Catholicism, Islam,Christianity,Buddhism,Hinduism, etc are all "paganistic",He did this to make a difference between His people and pagans

kendraloops: I would say I don't believe also but I've had practical experience with a close friend. This girl I soooooooooooo pretty and at 33 years, she aint married. Guys come her way quite alright but the relationships never last.
